Hi Samuel. Yes, that was a big lovely worm!
I love how your kids are involved. We weren't allowed in dad's vege garden. The soil was leveled with a spirit level, so perfectly. No fruit trees cos they were messy.
I'm a gardener but I don't like toughing worms LOL I usually call out to my daughter to move them if they're in my way. Yes, you nailed it the staple crops to grow. It makes sense :)
Hi, Could you do an instructional video on how you store your vegetables and how long you expect them to last?, if not I love your content, thanks.
I've found that Celeriac is very good, you get so many stalks to cut off and eat and then the bulb. I have 8 of them and have had a steady supply of those greens for at least 6 months, and they may last through winter we're yet to see. ~ From Northern Tasmania
I would also include cabbage, which can be turned into kraut or kimichi.
Always enjoy your videos!
Great video. Thank you for posting 😊
That aerial shot of the property is fantastic! Gives me some ideas for what to add to mine. Hopefully you'll provide us with a tour of each feature over time. Thanks!
In north America the native population had what was called, "the three sisters", corn, squash, dry beans. Potatoes never made it from south America to the north. But I think potatoes are a basic. What is English spinach?
Warm climate grow: Moringa Oleifera. You can life on only that with water👍
Yummy thank you what a sweet boy.
This video is awesome, nicely done. You should be a teacher.😀
Hi John, how many acres is your homestead? And how many acres is cleared for your house/garden? Another great video btw :)
What do you think of Jerusalem Artichokes (Helianthus tuberosus)? They produce heaps, come back on their own year after year... but the gut reaction is intense for our whole family. Someday I'll experiment and "pushing through it" by eating them every day for a week, just to see if eventually everything settles down and they can become a regular staple.
Good info and different from others..thanks👌..Question..my potatoes were held back for various reasons...they are 20cent size at the moment ..will they keep growing if I cover with a plastic hoop house type environment or is it all over red rover once the first frost arrives? Thanks 👌
potatoeeees potatoeees potatoeesss potaaaatoeeeeeeees lol maybe we should be focusing more on starch as vegans/vegetarians
i just realized, growing grains in tassie probably not the best idea with our snakes
What brand of garden fork are you using to dig up the potatoes John? I bought one from Bunnings a few weeks ago and one of the forks is already broken
why is it that you sound aussie but your son has such a strong accent lol im sure its only a matter of time before he starts gettin slack with his "propper" ;p
