bro make a tutorial on how to add songs, that would help us non coders.
maybe you can sort the songs by difficulty in the tab, also including other sortings like (date added, alphabetical order, etc)
there would be a star rating, like 1-9
1 being any beginner can easily pass
9 being completely impossible
half ratings are possible, like 1.5
not sure if youre interested but it would be nice to have a feel of difficulty when playing

@@QUASAR098 hey, the exe flags as a virus for me and when I try to override the virus blocker thing, then the other virus defender flags it as a trojan.
it would be better if the difficulity range would go from 1 to 10 or higher
How does this only have a couple hundred views, I’m hella downloading this later, looks fun!
After a while, my antivirus put the exe in quarantine because it was apparently infected with malware :/

hey, for some reason, any time I try and open one of the songs, even if its one that was already in the songs folder when I downloaded this, it comes up with the error message "failed to execute script "main" due to unhandled exception: recurs function failed. Any way to fix this?

Please, add feature to change synth (for example from Microsoft GS to OmniMIDI), this will be very helpful for generating sound for small Black MIDIs so it will sound like a big smash, not like 24 smashes with 0.25 seconds delay that should represent a single big smash

Hi, love the idea! But when I try to run the 'main' file in the zip folder it just comes up with an error message saying 'failed to execute script 'main'....' Any idea how to fix this or do I need to install a program to run the game?
Hello, when I put the custom song and then execute the "main" file, it doesn't show anything. The "main" archive goes black and it doesn't show anything but black.

Did you make the maps manual or is it like an Ai that detects high notes and creates it for you? You mentioned that it creates the levels for you but i'm really interested in the process of making an Ai/program that can do this?
not an ai and doesnt use FFT either, it uses the timestampts from the midi file
It would be cool if there was an accuary procentage as well as a counter for how many of each not you hit (perfect, miss, etc) and it shows you your best score on each song.
im not going to put score in quite yet because the exact number can get overwhelming but i think a letter rank and accuracy will be good
@@QUASAR098 The score can simply be the accuracy except out of a million total, like many other rhythm games. For example 86.3544% would be equivalent to 863544 points

The biggest problem is that it requires a very good pc to play some black midi cuz on laptop 100000 notes just won't load
black midi will not work very well anyways

edit: also i got a problem where when i add my songs, it goes to '82%' and then the whole program crashes, any way to fix that?
dont use mp3 to midi converter, just find the midi version of the song online

@@themantis_ edit the source code, see i think it is config.py or maybe configpage.py or smth, there will be a theme just copy paste one and use JSON format to make a new theme with custom colors

Can you add support for OGG files? It would scan the ogg fil and then convert it to piano, aka SQAURE.
i think it would require FFT which is too complicated for my liking. do some research and you truly learn how hard this is to convert between ogg and midi

@@3RR0RNULL idfk what specs are but all my midi songs are exact conversions from mp3 files so there is a key for every single sound in the song. I have the SM64 Secret Slide song which is super crazy and my laptop has 6 seizures and crashes the game

I think there are some issues with the game. The buttons are not working. When I click on Play then choose music and click play the button is not working and nothing is happening. The same with config. When I click it the button to adjust settings are not working? Button QUIT neither.

no, the map is created by computer from midi file, see docs/SONGS.md in the source code to learn how to create one

I'm also interested in making square bounce videos. I downloaded python (latest recommended version in their website), and the two git hub files(91mb + 19mb) you have mentioned in the description.
But I couldn't run the program. What else i should do? I Opened the .exe file and selected a song to play. But after selecting the song, the play button didn't work. And could you please tell me, how to make colorful videos(as other YT creators do) from it?
there is an issue with windows, change your resoluition scaling to be 100%

Controls are toooo confusing. I hoped it was just 1 button, but seems I have to do it myself (modify the code)
it is just one button, i think you are not very good at typing or clicking the mouse
please use a-z,space,arrows to play (or mouse) (i do not recommend using the mouse though)

I'm on MAC and it adds "__MACOSX" to the path, hence the code doesn't read it. simply use an online tool to zip your files!
installed program & works fine but when installing a custom song i can hear the menu music but stuck on a black screen. I have done everything, changed the json file etc but no luck. Even tried using same files as one that already works & renaming it but no luck. any help appreciated.

@@cssccc-eo4pq not true. I use an iPhone too for content creation, airdrop is a massive feature I use. As well as the Adobe suites, music producing & video editing softwares which all optimise incredible on MAC OS.
Much more benefit to me personally. No idea why you’re trying to convince me to use a windows laptop that is much less convenient in my personal situation as a content editor :)

Why do I use the midi transferred from the website to play automatically on it sometimes the cube can't align the drum beat of music completely. What should I do? What else can I do to convert ordinary mp3 music into the music in your video?

it's in the ssource code version has not been bundled as an executable the theme is called modern_dark or dark_modern or something

if you are running from source code, there is a new song format in the documentation on the github. additionally, this applied to the newest executable. see the file "SONGS.md" to learn more

The program acts as if the screen is bigger than it actually is. Like if you took a screenshot, scaled it up, kept the buttons where they are, but made them invisible and showed the program at normal size (hard to describe)
