    I have lived in Atenas with my wife going on 12 years. It’s heaven on earth. The most wonderful, generous people you will ever meet.

      Good to hear Stephen. Would you recommend us a decent and secure condo or airbnb less than $700/month?

    I have lived here with my wife for 12 years. We feel so lucky to have moved here and away from the insanity of San Francisco. Nice film, thank you so much !

    Actually, you only covered about a 2 square block area. Atenas is a lot bigger than you are saying, I live here. There are about 17K people in Atenas. It is a very beautiful place where you can see the jungle areas, coffee plantations, beautiful mountain sides. If you go to The Baron, you will be able to see all of Atenas. Have fun.

    Thank you for making this video My wife and I are trying to figure out where to retire and now this town has moved up on my list of potential places. There's too much crime in some of the beach towns so further inland is looking good to me. Very nice in Atenas, it seems.

    • @aboutcostarica
      @aboutcostarica  Год назад

      You're welcome! I'm glad to hear that you found the video helpful in your retirement planning. Atenas is indeed a beautiful town that many people find appealing due to its pleasant climate and friendly community. Moving further inland can be a great way to avoid some of the issues that can come with living in a beach town.
      It's always important to thoroughly research and visit potential retirement locations before making a decision. Take the time to explore Atenas and other places on your list to get a better sense of what they offer and whether they meet your needs and preferences. Best of luck with your retirement planning!

    What an amazing video. Very surprising that there is such a thriving downtown in such a small community. Having lived in Ajijic, Mexico for two years the first thing I noticed was the nice sidewalks, unlike Ajijic. I am back In Canada but no longer qualify to return to Mexico now that the income requirements have more than doubled since I first moved there. I am researching moving to Costa Rica because I do qualify for the Pensionado and Atenas looks ideal. My pension income is still limited so I need to find an affordable studio or one bedroom apartment. Although I am 74 I am still a website designer and have built many city portal sites in Panama, Ecuador and Mexico, so I would like to know what the market is like in Atenas. I would really appreciate it if someone would help me. Thanks.

      There are multiple places.... For today! Naranjo, Bar/Restaurant Pilones in San Juan de Narajo, or Italian Pizza at Pomodoro en Dulce Nombre de Naranjo! I like them both!

    Is it affordable and safe for 14:12 14:12 a single women to rent a studio or one bedroom close to town ? Is it possible to rent close to town? I will not have a car. I am retired, on a fixed income.

    • @aboutcostarica
      @aboutcostarica  11 месяцев назад

      I would say so, there is no general harassment to single women! You could check out in Atenas, but I guess in Grecia or Santa Ana or San Ramon has more to offer if you dont have a car. Video off this towns mention are on my channel!
