Bluesin In Alphabet City by Christian McBride
May 24, 2014
Rose Theater
In 2014, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra music director Wynton Marsalis and drummer Ali Jackson presented the compositions of a pair of Philadelphia-born, post-Boomer virtuosos -- bassist Christian McBride and guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel -- who joined the JLCO for the occasion. On this track, McBride plays bass alongside his own composition, "Bluesin' in Alphabet City."

5:54 I love how the woman in the back is enjoying the swing, shaking her head along with the groove :)
thats how jazz works man
Love the ‘One Bass Hit’ quote at 6:53
we are so blessed to be able to experience this ! Joy immeasurable !!
Love this song! In fact the entire album is just fantastic. The JALCO once again pulls off a great performance with the help of Christian McBride!
What a legend.
Of course a quote of "The Alphabet Song" to kick things off
Key of A lol... Very nice
Marcus Printup...OMG !!!
That was GREAT
Nice post...the band sounds great....JAZZ lives in NYC....
Obrigada
Cool!
Those seemingly overblown/out-of-tune notes on the Tenor Saxophone solos sound horrible and completely unsexy. No one else auditioned for his spot?
That man is a phenomenal saxophone player. Although not one of his best solos for sure, he is still a great player.
Bro he's in jalc he has to be good. Maybe this type of song isn't his style
Well it’s in A, strange tonality for horns
he got that joe Henderson vibe...some ppl dig it...some dont
You're full of shit m8
