That's why I ONLY order from reputable places with guarantees......I also only pay with PayPal because they'll credit me and have credited me when I had an issue.
I'm NEVER that desperate for an item that I'm forced to deal with sketchy companies. Paying with PayPal prevents my credit card information from being given out to unknown companies. I've never had an issue doing things this way, thankfully!
Thanks for the GREAT informative video!! It proved what I'd always thought can and does happen!

@@LironSegev true enough but if they don't I won't shop there or if I'm really forced to I'll get a special debit/visa from my bank that's designed specifically for just such uses. It's not a true Visa but accesses your debit account but your account is safe....according to the bank....as we all know that hackers already have everything figured out before the "new security feature" is even released to the public. Like new currency as well.
      Thanks Liron!!

I never wait 30 days much less 60 days. I cancel and also put the transaction in dispute with my credit card at the same time. So far that has worked. Fingers crossed it continues to work. I also try to never order from an overseas company, but I made a mistake this past Christmas. I finally got what I ordered, but never again will I order from an unknown source.

Thank God I don't have a credit card. For big purchases save first and then go to a physical store to buy it. If you want a bicycle, you go to a bicycle shop! Okay, easy to say, I live in the Netherlands and we have a bicycle shop in every street, but if I need a washing machine, I really don't buy it online.
I save (my grandmother always said very simply if you don't have the money then you can't buy it period) and then I go online to see which washing machine I would like to have and then I call various shops (yes, by phone and not via email, if a store does not have a telephone number then I will not buy there) whether they have the washing machine. So I only order where they also have a physical store. You know we are asking to get scammed by scammers. Scammers exist because of our behavior. And our greed, we want to sit in the front row for a dime (Dutch expression) we want more and more for less. And then people find it strange that they are be scammed.

Yeah, I pretty much just say screw it after the second week if nothing happens and threaten to cancel the order and demand a refund by the third week if the order doesn't arrive and it's exactly what I ordered. I generally tend to order stuff from the company's website or a more reputable site since they tend to actually send what I order.

Sixty days?? I guess it my time working for a credit bureau. I honestly nearly got to this point with Ikea last week over a delay that went on for two weeks. Two weeks is my cutoff, generally. If coming from Europe/Asia I'll give it another week, but that's it. That said, this was a very good explainer on this sort of scam.

If someone orders a custom item like they commission a painting of their family, then its common to wait. We are not talking about stuff you can pick up at your local shops. So these scammers set up those type of sites where there is inherit wait time or there is something special like a custom item or where you get something you can't get locally.

Something similar happened to me. It was maybe 7 years ago though. I ordered a coat on eBay. It arrived so tiny. I contacted seller. They responded just like your video. That it was a holiday in their country and they will help me there after. Time passed I reached out again. They said if I could wait a little longer they were opening a warehouse in New York. I did because to send it back to their country would have cost more than the purchase. Luckily my story had a good ending. I was able to return it and get a full refund. Definitely a learning experience.

I really like what Liron is saying. However, I would change a couple of things. 1. Use a prepaid card - If the amount is not that you are spending isn't that large, consider using a prepaid card. Even though, there are charges associated with them. You are free from identity theft because it only has money that you place on it and if you only place money on it when you're purchasing something. Your loss is minimal if that ever occurs. 2. Following along with what Liron was saying if you don't get a tracking number off the get-go and are given a delay in shipping excuse. No problem. Immediately, cancel your order. Ask them when they believe the delay with be over and product available for purchase. If this is not convenient for you, tell them you will be in touch and look elsewhere for your item. Hopefully, they are not the only game in town and someone else has what you want for a reasonable price. Good Luck!

Those terms and conditions regarding the restocking fee aren’t legal, it has to be an amount that is realistic, and is usually a small percentage of the goods, it can’t exceeds the value of the goods. As a guide its to cover packaging usually, like opened box.

crazy - and you know they make serious money on shipping fees too! Thats why some companies off "FREE book just pay for shipping"

SO AT THE 3RD REPLY IM WONDERING ONLY 1 PERSON WORKS THERE? 4TH REPLY WHY ARE THEY SHARING PERSONAL HR EMPLOYEE INFO? NO I DONT WAIT PAST 1 WEEK MAX FOR A CONFIRMATION EMAIL

No need to shout but it's pretty common for one person to handle a customer especially with a high ticket item. Some people like to share you. You do get a confirmation email and a receipt but what you don't get is a tracking number.

Stop ordering from these fly by night companies trying to save a dollar. You are at fault for dealing with these places

Respectfully, I disagree. I like supporting small businesses and family run companies rather than give billionaires more money. However, I also expect that they will do what they promised as any normal business would.

Credit is still better than debit because there is a chance your credit card company will fight fraud and return your money. I ordered a custom jewelry chain online that takes 7-10 weeks to make. 😅

Don’t buy cheap things. They aren’t

    • @LironSegev
      @LironSegev  8 месяцев назад

Its not just about cheap, its about getting what you want. For example: you might not wait a month for something you can pick up at your local shop, but what about something that is custom-made for you? eg jewlerry designed for a specail occation or a family portrait paitning that you commissioned? These are certainly don't cheap, and there is a natural waiting time.

@@LironSegev buying jewelry on internet? Hm... nope.
In fact, I think you gave a one great example of why it might be a good idea to buy in your local shops as long as they are still there. Otherwise they will all disappear, and then Internet will be the only option. That's a scary thing. And then the day when someone hacked into the system that is servicing the company you get your grocery from...
Well, I'm an optimist... ;) Scared as hell of the world with only electronic money and everything happening through Internet
