CORRECTION: the updated Lex pedal actually does have a new sonic feature, which is a knob for your dry signal (the original didn't have that, even as a secondary parameter). It's also worth noting that the spring reverb in the original El Capistan could not be used independently like the updated one can, because it used to be tied to the delay mix. Both of these were pointed out to me by Pete Celi himself from Strymon, truly advanced. Thanks for the catch.
Pete Celi is cool. If only Iridium had an effects loop I like running amps hot..( Van Halen 😉) and having delys and verbs before sounds horrid eccept if you want the Cramps kinda thing. It's why I bought a cheap Amp Academy for now it has an effects loop....thst I can drag before or after the Cab Sim. Getting an El Capistan next. My Boss Re20 has NO headroom for boost pedals. Good breakdown. I always want "Tape On." And adding exoression will be nuts! That with my Oceans 12 verb will be nuts.
Another rad video man. Favorite tip was for the flint; really cool sound you had going there. Love that the dig has a tone knob now though. Every delay needs a tone knob in my opinion.
Love that strymon updated these pedals with solid new features while still managing to make the older versions not feel suddenly obsolete. Also love that they’ve recognized the quality of your videos and have chosen (smartly imo) to invest in that. Great company, great channel!
Oh dude. Cemetery gates with that tone was epic. Excellent call, sir 👏 I just picked up a flint v2, and I will soon be making sounds much shittier than the ones in this video.
@Malcolm the spacing has to be even…head 1 are 16ths, head 2 8ths, head 3 dotted eights and head 4 quarter notes (in even spacing)…hope i got your question right…
yes, glad you like it. a bunch of years ago i arranged the whole song for 1 guitar, which i gotta film myself performing and upload at some point. I do a different section of the song in my video for the Strymon Zelzah if you're curious, also on my channel, thanks for checking it out
Nice video ! The tremolo tick is really cool. I generally hate trem but I might have to try this. The dig trick sounds like a resonator, I like to do that with flangers that have an lfo disconnect as well.
Dude. F off. I love you so much man. How are you so fast. I know you got early releases but still. Im so insanely impressed. And I see you everywhere on the internet. Quick question, I just got into production. I really want the deco for the master bus. Its exactly like a whole ass ssl fusion. Would you consider doing a video on it used as such. Or give me any pointers on its use this way.
thanks man. if you're already asking about using the deco that way, i honestly don't think you need my help. you're right there, just try it and see what happens. i'm sure you'll make it sound good. thanks for checking out my channel
bro, you’re creativity so inspiring every pedal has some secrets and I love how you dial it in and exploit those totally unique amazing tones. Also that BC Rich is sick. Keep going man.
i'm glad to hear it, because i do get stressed about making them short and tight while also needing to take time to explain my various in-depth whatevers
@@CyberattackWorld yeah they cover everything perfectly while being consistently entertaining. And various in depth whatevers is of course a song begging to be written on that 🐴 🎸
To be honest, most of the stuff I think is cool to do with the El Capistan is very similar to the pro-tips I give in my video about the Keeley Dark Side, specifically the stuff it can do using its multiple tapeheads. If you watch that video, most of the delay-related tricks can be translated to the El Capistan somehow.
thanks man, some of it is screen recordings from noclip.website and some of it is using software like Pixel Encoder or Dither Decay on footage of the real world
I do find it way easier having the mono/stereo input switch outside the pedal, because I go back and forth between guitar and synth pretty often, and with V1 I had to unscrew the back to do that. But if that's not a big deal for you, and if you don't think the sound in pro-tip #5 is an absolute must-have, then I think you're fine with V1. The original Flint is an all-time awesome pedal.

@@CyberattackWorld Oh dang, forgot you did that. Just revisited that video--really nice.
Didn’t like all of your examples but the ones I do are killer…thanks man! Keep going…
you should have more sub's.

Oh man that Bohemian Rhapsody melody through the Lex is wonderful. What a warm and bright and pretty amp sound.
the preamp drive/breakup on it sounds really good
i found this channel half an hour ago. its my favourite channel
i'm glad, thanks for checking it out

Dude I love the animations. Makes me want to make a music video in world of warcraft or something
I love that you were able to quote your own song for el cap. Knew it was invincible on the 1st note. Great song.
oh man that's incredible thank you
Van Halen riffs with X Men respect.
Only have a Riverside.
The best El cap setting is single mode B and you can switch it to A to make the pitch go bwooooop or A to B to make it go bwowwwmmm
😲😲😲😲😲!!!!!!!!!! Hmmmmm….🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Emily Hopkins sent me! 😁 Man, what a KILLER channel!! Instant sub from me!! 🤘🐀
so glad, thank you

Man, you’re just the best. Thank you for all the cool vids. ❤️

3:20 Because I'm easy come, easy go, Little high, little low, Any way the wind blows doesn't really matter to Me, to me
I see what you did their :)
Dude what’s in your 500 series rack?
Cemetery Gates!!!
Your videos fly by when I'm watching them. Which is intended as a compliment!
i'm glad to hear it, because i do get stressed about making them short and tight while also needing to take time to explain my various in-depth whatevers

Thanks! Was the DIG in parallel or series for that demo piece?
series
Buying el cap just for one knob verb, lol.
This is killer man!
Can you do a video on the el cap?

@@CyberattackWorld Alright I'll check it out and mess around. Thanks!
Great video as usual, man! Always wanted to ask where you find these old 3d game footage like on 1:18, 5:34 or 10:24? Thanks
thanks man, some of it is screen recordings from noclip.website and some of it is using software like Pixel Encoder or Dither Decay on footage of the real world
Ty man you're the best!
mama
ooo
OOO
ooo
brah thank you I thought I was the only one
Man, your intro version of cemetery gates got me tearing up a bit
easy to forget how emotional that song is in its own kinda way
This video makes me furious! ONLY TEN MINUTES!?
Just kidding! Love the content!
Is now el cap true stereo?
I don't think so
every pedal should have a pain knob tbh
someday
wait, there are still secondary parameters? ...🤦♂️
They look cool but it seems to be a paper launch. Can’t buy one anywhere.
Love my “old” El Cap, completely agree on your opinion about the “ best “ el cap setting
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing some of your discoveries! I want all of ‘em!
Love that Cemetery Gates end with the tremolo, very cool/haunting sound!
The Deco clip was DOPE! You’re too good man; glad to see your channel growing brother.
what kind of mockingbird are you playing?
it was made for me by Alex Glasser at Iron Horse Instruments, total custom job, really fun
@@CyberattackWorld thanx for reply. It really looks super beautiful and sounds great as well :D
@Cyberattack I had a bad timing and recently ordered the Flint V1. Would you say the V2 is really worth owning over the V1? Thanks!
I do find it way easier having the mono/stereo input switch outside the pedal, because I go back and forth between guitar and synth pretty often, and with V1 I had to unscrew the back to do that. I may need to make a V2 Strymon board for my Bass. 😁
Always enjoy this series!!! 👍🏻
my new fav channel
Love it. So inspiring! Oh and the pedals sound nice too I guess 😁
This is such a great video!! Well done
The El Cap jam was great! Make that a song if you haven't.
thanks summerbrain, good news:

I really enjoyed the Deco tone.
DAMN, the Deco PAIN SOUND and accompanying jam was cool as all fuck!
thanks i really want to do something with that on my next album
how do you consistently make the coolest guitar videos???? Can we be friends????
practice, and sure
