- A ride with a few lessons learnt!
My back light which doesn't look like it's on is set on traffic mode so it comes on lighter when it detects cars - I did this to save battery during the light hours :).
Thank you so so much for watching.
(I am an ambassador for Le Col, Sungod and Styrkr I get suff from these brands for free which you will see me wearing/ eating in my videos, I'm so grateful for this! I was gifted my Met helmet as an ambassador for Raleigh UK)

Well done Amy you have brought back the joy to Audax
Ahh thank you!
thank you for helping me understand. For having the awareness, the ability to explain it, and of course the confidence to let others know. And for being entertaining enough to get it done!
Wow, Amy, you look so fresh after your ride! Amazing! I'm 66 and I don't do the really long rides these days, but I appreciate those who do - like you. Keep the rubber down and the spirits up little lady! Cheers!
Ahh thank you so much!
I love the bright cycling colours, especially the vest 😊
Well done Kyle to making it to the finish!
Thank you! Yes he did well :D
Many vids on line, don't really always put across, or show, the sheer joy of cycling, but yours always seem to be exactly that! Enjoy your cycling young lady. Excellent 👌
Ahh thanks so much for watching, I just love cycling so much :D
@@amy.cycling.adventures I know, it's plain to see. I love seeing young people getting into cycling. Your story, from your 1st bike to LB, is wonderful. Keep doing what you do, such enthusiasm and a happy smile, will encourage more youngsters especially women, to enjoy this wonderful sport and hobby. Take care young lady. Stay safe. 🤜🤛
A true inspiration. Looks like you were born to cycle :-) Well done on the distance & to Kyle given the cleat / gearing issue. Loving the weekly updates.👌
Ahh thank you so much! I LOVE it :D
If your shifter breaks, you can try to pull cable at the derailleur to manually set what gear you want to be in. It's not great, but it'll get you home!
PS: If the cable is broken, it's good to have a cable tie to pull the derailleur for the same purpose.
Hey Amy well done on the no hands and Carl gets his bike sorted keep smiling Luving your vids xx
Thank you!!
Amy, you're amazing! Having had an eating disorder myself, I know how hard it can be when that voice starts whispering in your ear. You are bossing it!
Your openess about it will help other sufferers have the courage to overcome their battles too 😊
PS has Kyle been doing secret 'top of the hill dances' to wear his cleats out that much😂
Aww thank you, sorry to hear you’ve struggled too! I hope so that’s why I share it :)
And he says no it’s because he’s been walking around in them looking for snacks too much 😂😂
@Amy Cycling Adventures Lololol You'll have to get him some cleat covers, otherwise he's gonna clear Shimano right out of them at this rate😁
I'm all clear of the ED now, and you will too Amy. You have an amazing attitude to life and your cycling. It's only a matter of time 🙃
Another super ride Amy, good to see you have some confidence back to ride with no hands...not sure I have lol...
Another excellent video Amy.
Thank you Paul!!
While I'm missing the Galaxy, I'm loving the positivity in your content. Already looking forward to your next video.
Ah thanks so much! Galaxy is still around :) she just needs some mechanical work and is currently being used for commuting :D
Love this channel, so much positivity just what I needed 😊
Ah thanks so much for watching Tom ☺️
Love your videos. Thanks for taking us with you. Good for you, no need to beat yourself up about food.
Thanks for watching along and supporting :D
I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for the effort of filming and riding. Please be grateful that you have found a partner that you can ride together those distances with. That is rare. Cheers.
Ah thanks for watching! Yes super grateful - we actually both didn’t cycle before we met!
@@amy.cycling.adventuresWow, very nice.
Good to see some bright colours. I watch all kinds of vloggers and I find it amazing how many wear dark colours on the road. I always wear bright colours. Better safe than sorry. Enjoy your videos!
Thanks so much for watching! :D
Fantastic ride guys ,really love watching your videos ,biggest ride I ever done by was a coast to coast 150 miles ,aim to get a 100 miles ride in during March!
Ahh thanks so much! That sounds like a great ride! Good luck for your 100 miles in March :)
5:15!! well done! I was a good couple of hours behind you.
Ah thank you!! Well done for doing it! :D
Brilliant videos. Keep them coming!
Thank you for watching!
Greetings from Manchester England once again....Love it love it love it....... Just wish I could experience it in real life with you both..... Keep these awesome videos and memories coming thick and fast... Toodle Pip...😁😎🍻👍✌️🙋
Ahh thanks so much!!
The clip with the grain silos in the background is literally on my local 30K loop! Looked a great Audax - enjoying the videos :)
Ah really! Thanks for watching, it was a good one!
Another great vid Amy.
Makes me laugh how you have all this great top end cycling gear and poor Kyle is struggling along with his broken bike, worn cleats and Berghaus fleece 😄
Thank you! Haha, I can update that he now has new cleats on :D and he may be bringing his summer bike (he’s not that hard done to haha) off the turbo and outside now until the Ribble is fixed!
Great video, Love the positivity 😊
Good to ride with the both of you at times and glad you both got back quick still. Impressive to get up those little bumps with only one shifter 👍
Was great to ride with you and hear about all your cycling trips! I'm sure we'll see you at another one!
Smashed it. Loving the content! 🔥
Thanks!! :D 🙌
Superb vid, very enjoyable. I like your passion, and you and Kyle inspire me to get out more. Kudos to him for finishing with his broken shifter and cleat. Food is fuel Amy. I always take some homemade flapjacks and honey sandwiches. Top carbs, but my mouth feels like a glue factory afterwards. Keep them vids coming, and best to you both...😊
Ah thank you so much for this lovely comment ☺️ Kyle was defo ready for his curry at the end!! Ohh yes I love a good flapjack but haven’t tried honey sandwiches so that’s one to try thank you! Enjoy your rides
Thanks will do. Recently got myself a new GIANT Defy, and like you mentioned in an earlier video, there's nothing like a new bike. Plus the thought of a nice curry blowout when you get home from a long ride 👍😜
@@anthonyR13 ahh nice!! Enjoy the new bike and yes curry all the way 🙌
You made cycling look easy dear.
Great video. Love your positivity and genuine love for cycling in your videos. It's actually helped me get out and brave the cold today. First road ride today in a while . Loved it . Going out again tomorrow. Lol. Quick question is your bike a gravel bike ? What width tyres do you run ? Your new bike looks great and super comfy . Many thanks paul
Thanks so much for watching! Really glad you got out on a ride hope you enjoyed it! Yes it’s a gravel bike currently got 45s on but I am going to put some road tyres on for road soon :) got some schwalbe marathons on order :D
@Amy Cycling Adventures blimey you are doing well pushing out those miles on 45c tyres . You said you were feeling low on energy. It could be the tyres sapping it all. The new tyres will be like a turbo boost . I would hope so anyway.
A roady friend of mine has a gravel bike he was going to sell it as kept getting puncture s and the 40c tyres made to sluggish. I had a pair of schwalbe marathon s in 32 that I wasn't using at the time so give him them to try. He has never looked back he rides it everyday for work he said its almost as fast as his road bike and he hasn't had a puncture in 6 months.
@@paulstelling3099 yes I think that could be it, can’t wait to get the road tyres on it!
Done a few Hilly 200kms Audax rides . Its a weird sort of distance .. Have to be careful with them or your legs can easily fall off those last 20 miles if overcooking it after a diet of 50 to 100 mile rides.
Well done my cat Elsa was sat watching you 😻 must of been your lovely bright top 👍😻x
Aww cute! My Dog was watching the racing on TV at the weekend :D
Yep, lights in their proper place! Be seen, be safe!
Good old Alfreton or Often as the locals say 🤣. I live in Ripley 3 miles away.
It's a long ride and it needs a lot of will power, but you make it fun 😊
Well done Kyle tough day but you didn't give in mate
He doesn’t give up easily 🙌
It took me a while to get good at doing a 'no hander' on my road bike. For some reason it had always been easier on my hybrid, it seems to have lower centre of gravity. Just be careful and don't be tempted to do a Chris Froome by blowing your nose in strong winds on a TT bike at 33mph!
Haha no way will I be doing that! 😂
Great ride, Amy. Glad Kyle is alright after the crash. Poor guy. 30 mi in heavy gear with 1 cleat does not sound like a good time. Way to keep up on the nutrition. There was a noticeable positive effect in this video. You seem to have gotten your bounce back. I like the song too. Keep it up and stay awesome!
Thank you so much for watching! Yes he’s all good and has new cleats now :D
Nice ride , but it seems you just ride to get it done and dusted? I can't for the life of me want to ride ALL DAY doing that many miles. .. as much as I love cycling, if I do 30 miles, I'm good! I still have the rest of the day to enjoy or use that energy to be productive in/out of my house.
Fyi, Im still a 👍vote for a more softer landing at the end of your videos( as opposed to the "cut off"). Ie:" thank you for watching my videos and I'll see ya on the next one, bye guys" < that's free of charge🤭✌️
Great video Amy. Do you put carbs in your water bottles? I forget to eat so is a great help chucking some powder in the bottles before heading out.
Thank you! It’s something I need to try still actually!
Could also be that you rode a heavy Dawes and now you have big volume tyres on the new bike, which are comfy but do drag more than pure road tyres.
Good point on the tires, definitely a bigger drag
Enjoying watching your journey.... is PBP the current goal?
Yes :D PBP in August and all points north in May!
Is your bike a gravel variant? I fancy an audax but not sure if I'd be better on the gravel bike with appropriate tyres or the Roadie with max 28mm
Yes it’s a cannondale topstone gravel bike :) I’m planning on putting some road tyres on it :) but lots of people do Audax with road bikes too, so it’s your preference, I went for this bike so that I can use it for bike packing as it has lots of mounts :)
Have you tried putting sugar in your water bottles. Heat the sugar up in a pan the night before than once cooled down pour into your bottle.
Oh I’ve not tried that thanks for the tip!
Gee, you guys and your crashes, adds to the household budget I bet. I hope he had some brake control. I'm interested, is the bike you bought a topstone carbon? Be good for you to do a first month review.
I know! Yes it is I will do a review video soon :)
You pair don't half do some distance hopefully you get better luck from now on with the bikes.
2:55 If you can do that with ease you have a good bike fit.
Keep safe 🚴nice bike
How many metres of ascent?
Well done. Poor Carl 😂.
Awesome video as always.....😁😎🍻🚲👍✌️🥘🕌🙋
Thanks so much for watching :)
Dang, yall have some shit luck when it comes to crashes. Stay safe!
Your English is very fast like your ride amy 🤪
Great video and this makes me want a curry even though I had one last night
Haha thank you! Can never have too many curries! :D
As I understand, sugars are used by the body differently during exercise versus being sedentary. It looks like cyclists have terrible diets judging by all the candies and sweets consumed, but not so. The sugars are burned immediately for energy.
Any link to your Strava file?
It’s on my profile page ☺️
Ahh you had light set on traffic mode! I like peeing off cyclists with my Lezyne 300 lumens set to max, bwhahahahha! I've been beeped at traffic lights it's so bright. Well done you guys and thanks for being open about you mental health.
D to the I-Z-Z-Y 😂
Need just 1 200km for the SR
Whooo go for it!!
Cadence 👆
SALT Amy, SALT
For you guys who are not racers and speed demons, why not gravel cleats? Nowadays you don't pay much weight penalty moving away from road cleats, and you'd never encounter such a problem. Wearing out a gravel cleat is like trying to wear out a stone, it doesn't happen.
