- The first Driver's Eye View I filmed for the RH&DR. Unlike the second version this one is from Hythe to Dungeness a couple of years before the deviation at Hythe was put in place. Filmed from No.12 (driven by Ricky Kilford) with the soundtrack from a trip with No.5 dubbed on top.
If you love trains then this is worth a look as they have a great collection that run. I had a great time when I last visited and my young son loved it.
You're a really useful railway.
A nice ride on a miniature main line. Excellent video as well. Now to watch part 2...
Malcolm, It is a great trip, been on it a couple of times, all the way from Australia, will visit again next time as well, when over to the UK again.
This minds me of The Bure Valley Railway in North Norfolk.
Same guage but the BVR is a bit greener :-)
Thanks.
Some scoundrel had the audacity to give this a thumbs down.
Terrible
I have the DORLING KINDERSLEY DK EYEWITNESS GUIDES Book of TRAIN.
Discover the story of railways - from the days of steam to the high - speed, sophisticated trains of today.
In association with THE NATIONAL RAILWAY.
A ride of featureless fields and boring back garden walls and fences. I had wanted to visit as a youngster, but having seen the video it is no longer on my list of places to visit.
Malcolm
Sorry you feel that way Malcolm. Anyone who expects the railway to be in Welsh type scenery obviously misses the point. The railway may not be scenically beautiful but it is certainly interesting enough to warrant a visit. Both the loco collection and the operation is hard to match on even the best of heritage railways.
+Derek Smith is this railway have some kind of like anti-aircraft locomotive the Second World War
