    Just to be clear the call from the judge is not Zane’s fault. The situation was a product of people not being able to question the decisions of a judge even when there is a blatant discrepancy in what they called and what has visibly happened. This is an issue with the judge and how takara has decided no one can question the ruling of the judge without potentially being reprimanded or kicked from events.

    Blader from Singapore here 😁
    In our local official tourneys, we risk disqualification if we challenge the judges/GMs on their call - I'm assuming the reason why nobody spoke up is because this event held a similar stance.
    It's just a bit surprising that there wasn't at least 2 judges for such a large-scale event (to cover multiple angles and potential blind spots like what happened here) - This is a common practice for our G2s/G1s and it's not like the Asia Championship was short on such resources...
    I hope the organisers take this as a learning experience and at least delivers a statement soon - Everyone, especially Thailand's BBX community, deserves closure on this 🙏

      Tournament organizer for a community in Manila here. When we review calls, we show our players the replay footage for transparency and so they fully understand why that call was made. At 240fps slow motion, the results get pretty clear. The slowmo replays are really entertaining as well and so after some editing we’d send the most exciting ones to the community chat and sometimes the Philippine FB group. Its a way to hype players up and get others interested to try as well

  • @Kyede-p4n

    Something to point out!
    They usually private their livestreams and make it public again after a few days! It was the same for X-TREME CUP GP 2024 so i feel the stream being set to private isn't to "hide" the controversy but more of like their standard way of doing things.
    That being said, i think it would be good if they make it so where players or someone on the scene should be able to challenge the call or call for a review.
    Also, there's a line in the official rules:
    "If you do not comply with the staff or judge’s decisions regarding the use of “Beyblade X”, you may be asked to refrain from participating in the event or tournament."
    Hence, i think the players and viewers might feel powerless which probably explains the troubled look on zane's face

  • @ebonyangel951
    @ebonyangel951 2 дня назад +3

    As someone who was spectating the event live, it was only noticeable looking at the top down camera, the WR bit seemed to have burst out of sight when it went into the Extreme Zone and then returned to the dome and hit the AP causing it to burst. The crowd sitting at ground level may not have noticed, but the 2nd and 3rd floor spectators definitely saw it. The announcers I'm not sure if they noticed it, they didn't seem to comment on it. But I can say from where the judge was standing, it would make sense why he didn't catch it: the Extreme Zone's lip would be blocking sight of the bit, and the WR's burst would very likely be in that Judge's blind spot. I think the judge should have inspected the WR before announcing it the winner to see if it was fully intact. All of this is very easy to catch in slow motion and with hindsight, but in the heat of the moment with both beys at full speed, it wasn't clear what the situation was. Many folks at the event trusted the judge's decision given there wasn't an Instant Replay given to the crowd to refer to. This is definitely something that should be included in future BIG tournaments like this, not just for credibility of the event, but also for fun reaction content. Sports events LOVE instant replays of scores/goals/etc. There were also a number of Spin Finishes that would have merited use of immediate Instant Replay after every point. I also believe Players SHOULD have the right to request a replay of the point if they feel the judge made an error in judgment, Judges are human and make mistakes like anyone.

    To put some more recognition on this kind of situation, I would like to see this controversy with the miscalling be implemented in the anime in some way. We’ve seen just how corrupt X’s world is compared to our own world with some of the sponsors being greedy, how “copy and pasting” can get you easy clout, and idol worship can lead to consequences. This would be a way for TT to acknowledge that they messed up during this tournament in a meta way, but there still has to be accountability on the actual competitive scene. Time and effort on Por’s part were completely wasted all because of the judge’s final call.

    Honestly, if we're going to see this in future tournaments going forward, this is only going to be the start of the decline of official Beyblade X tournaments. That judge should've been fired for that decision on the spot. Except the corpos at Takara Tomy decided to let his decision be final which is a stupid decision. If I was spectating this tournament, I would've just chanted "bulls***" and booed the referee for that terrible decision.

      Firing the judge would be extreme, we're humans and prone to make mistakes. What there should be, regardless, is video review. The idea that the judge's call is final is not the fault of the judge, but the system. As such, the system needs to change.

    What I find about Beyblade was, they're still oldschool. For such a tech savvy society we're in, B4 still got the same mentality as the old gens in Japan. Not old beyblade gens, the OLD PEOPLE gens. Just look at the judging statement thingy. It's bs. I cannot compared this to football/soccer since the controversial are mostly due to corruption. This one was plain stupidity. I remember that one story about sumo match where the mayor fainted in the stadium. You can check the story on Google but here I'm not talking about gender discrimination but rather this whole situation about "upholding a rule" which could potentially costs something else.... No hate to the bladers who participated, especially towards Zane, because he even seemed somewhat confused when the controversial call was made. But what I strongly believe is that the judges made a wrong call, and if the live stream camera can pickup the issue, I do believe others had also seen the issue. So they definitely were somewhat complacent with the event, and at this point there should be some scope of interjection from players and spectators. If it was an occurrence 20 years ago, the blindsided judgment was understandable, but with all the technological advancements, this is definitely unacceptable. We don't even get any official tournaments, but for the ones that are organised here in Kolkata, India, by my friend @ad_beyblade, he always uses smartphones to record all the matches and in case of any confusion he checks footages before making a call. So, such a controversial decision by the official refs from Asia Championship is definitely not expected. Again no hate towards any bladers, and I am sure Zane is not at fault.

    • @manjackson2772
      @manjackson2772 2 дня назад

      First clash, Wizard gets launched into the X pocket, hits the back wall, bit pops out, blade and ratchet are still together and bounce back in. The second clash must have hit Pegasus ratchet and burst it that way. I can understand how the judge wouldn't have seen the bit ejection from where he was standing, but it was still a wrong call and there should be measures in place to prevent that. Even the judge just standing on the other side of the stadium would have helped.

    Funny you used yugioh as example xD there has been so much cheating caught on live streams of big events and is a topic that pops up almost yearly. People have to remember that over in Asian countries their culture is VERY different from ours. Over there you don’t argue with superiors like referees. Also the mentality that most have over there is that they do not want to be a burden on someone. So they will grit their teeth and just accept things like this.
    However, if TT really wants beyblade to grow into a full sport they definitely need to move away from naked eye refereeing. X is the fastest version of beyblade ever. It’s faster than the naked eye can see.
