      Thanks Joe. The hardest part has always been how to successfully overwinter them.

    Your sugar cane plants are doing really well, Mike. Great job with the new sugarcane pieces too. I had a red sugarcane plant last year, but I think it has died over winter indoors. I was being careful not to overwater it, but I think I've ended up underwatering it 😢

      Thank you Peter. I too bout some red sugarcane plants off the net two years running and managed to kill them over winter. I will be ordering some more and paying more attention to the compost used for repotting it this time round.

      Thank you Brett. I grew up as a boy living on a small farmstead where we grew a wide range of tropical fruits and cultivated sugarcane of various varieties. We milled the sugarcane to make sugarcane juice, we boiled the juice to make molasses as well as crystalline sugar, and sold some to a sugarcane refinery in our parish. So I suppose sugarcane is in my blood Brett.
