Well, now we own a home we paid cash for, so it's not like we spend a lot of money on housing - just maintenance items and taxes (which are very minimal where we live). But these apartment prices are completely insane. I don't think I ever *grossed* much more in a month than this rent costs her - and while I made a decent amount of money in tech, my last salaried position was in the 1990s. I wonder what she eats or feeds her car with... to say nothing of doing laundry... My big issue with Miami is the friggin' _humidity_ , but then, 2/3 of the entire nation is too humid for my tastes. Dang, I checked their career site and the pay for a VP is between 140k-190k. Let's say it's 170k, her take home (after tax) is 10500 monthly, Good for her, but she's still paying 40% of her income on rent.
She’s likely making around $140-$160K after taxes considering her age and lack of experience. That’s only $6.67K per month after taxes. She would be taxed at 50%. I wouldn’t be surprised if her rent is closer to 60-70% of her income.
Omg please stop moving here. As a native Floridian, the price for rent is already over inflated. Then you have her talking about oh I offered over the monthly rent to secure the unit. Which empowers landlords to charge even more for these absurdly priced units. You have to be making phenomenal money, in order for $4100 to not make up a substantial portion of your income. I imagine if you’re not making near $200k you won’t even get approved. Landlords here require you make 3x rent, and many are demanding first, and last month’s rent plus a $2000 security deposit to even move in. South Florida is in a housing crisis and every year it gets worse.
The thing is I'm in LA it's not that crazy to see people pay this, but I literally pay a 3rd of what she does because I don't live in a luxury unit I think if you choose to live in units that updated you're begging to pay the price especially in cities. This is the issue with renting. They keep putting all these stupid amenities in when people just want a decent sized apartment to live in. I'm based in London, UK and people have been complaining here about the apartments costs. My sister in america says people are complaining about them too. We dont need spas, clubhouses, private dining areas and events. They charge loads of extra fees for them too. We just want a long term rental that doesn't cost half the earth to afford.
I hear you, but as this example shows there are people who want and will pay for those amenities. Im sure the apartment building is over 90% occupied too even at those prices.
@@02nupe I agree for some these amenities are useful and they're happy to pay for them. The problem is that when looking for apartments these are the main ones that are advertises. Any normal properties are taken quickly because landlords are selling up!
There are more than enough choices in the US to not choose an apartment with those amenities - no one is forcing you to pick apt's that are ultra luxury. This apartment is in Brickell which is THE prime location in Miami right now.
Except they don't want us. Profiting from land should be illegal. The land is all we have, and it's stewards should not be self-interested. Being a tenant is slavery at worst, indentured servitude at best. All land currently being sold and traded was originally taken from the commons without any compensation. The cash price was zero. Why them, and not me? Or you? Or all of us?
@@02nupe no, but landlords enjoy your trust. There are nine million more housing units than households in America (US Census) and an estimated 30 vacant bedrooms for every 1 homeless person. There is no housing shortage. There is uneven distribution and a glut of greed that benefits a few at the expense of many.

Focus on long term investments in property, stocks, and bonds. Avoid copying, daytrading and 'chart astrology'. This is the best way to invest for more than 90% of people
How can I participate in this? I sincerely aspire to establish a secure financial future and am eager to participate. Who is the driving force behind your success?
This is not something to be proud of. The fact that you need to pay 4k monthly for such small apartment shouldn’t be considered a deal, especially an apt located on a mall (wow big deal)…Miami is so overrated .. I’ve lived in Miami all my life, and I’m a homeowner, and many of us are struggling to keep up with our bills due to the current housing market situation, high cost of living, and it is so sad, one of the causes are people like you, that used to live in NY with huge salaries and decided to come to live here and pay whatever rent the landlord decides as you can perfectly manage because of your NY salary. Not your fault per se,but for sure one of the consequences of the Covid and post covid times, and of this poisoned system.
Agree 100% Seems like Miami really got screwed over after Covid with all these people from CA and NY moving down to Miami with their salaries from other states. This has only made Miami become extremely expensive and driven out a lot of the locals. Soon, only the rich will be able to afford this city. I have no idea where much needed blue collar workers are going to live 🤷🏻♀️
In Bangkok, Thailand when I lived in a high rise condo, I paid 20,000 thb/month (~$520 usd). The mall wasn't directly below it, but all I had to do was walk 5 minutes to the opposite side of the street for 1 of the best malls and night markets in the city. $4k is absurd lmaool 😂
@clt2744 if you haven't traveled outside your little bubble, just be quiet 🤫 And if you actually think this girl is getting 8x's better quality of life than me ($500 vs $4k), then you must be on crack 😂😂🤣
@clt2744 you actually think I was getting worked up 😂🤣 If anything, you're the one getting worked up responding to so many peoples comments on the SAME video 🤣😂
For people who have never lived in any of the major 10 cities in America (I've lived in 4) please understand $4k in kansas in a 5 bedroom mansion is not the same as $4k in san Francisco or miami or new york. I own a property in Manhattan and bill my tenant $5k its a 1 bedroom but a 1 bedroom in manhattan varies (harlem or soho? Doorman or walk-up?) Also miami has had a major influx of rich new yorkers who have helped contribute to the rising living costs in all of Florida - so florida is still cheaper (tax wise) than living in a box in manhattan. Parking spots and balconys are normal amenities in almost all miami apartments whereas in new york these are not always offered and considered a luxury and 1 parking spot (not a covered garage) can on average raise your rent by $200/month in new york. So again for people not familiar with real estate in america or inflation, real estate is all about location not bedrooms or size. Blame the pandemic for real estate migration patterns and blame Biden for inflation, not the woman renting because she clearly has the money to pay for it. Let's not be bitter at her.

Rent prices in Miami are skyrocketing; it's absolutely insane. It's heartbreaking for those earning an average wage. How can they possibly keep up with such inflation?
My morgage was $750 a month 3 bed 2 bath 1700sqft on one acre of land in Tennessee. I own it now. I just pay homeowners insurance and property tax that total about 348 a month if you break it down. I make six fgures a year and just bough a home in cancun mexico. Im only 39. I take a vacation every 2 months and travel. I wouldnt be able to do none of that on 4k a month rent. Not worth it enjoy life while working guys.
3:11 Thank GOD I live in Wichita, Kansas!!!! Your rent went up that 2nd year by more than my rent was the last year I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment. Your place is really nice and worth the money, I'm sure, but that is double what I make in a month. My mortgage for my 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, house with a garage and huge backyard is only $707 a month which does include taxes and insurance. My apartment was about to go up to $800 a month in 2023 after it was $500 in 2020. It just started going up every year until I had enough and started looking at houses. Best decision I made. The privacy is insane. I have a cat too and surprisingly, I didn't have to pay extra for her to live with me like in that apartment.
hoity-toity snobs who tend to rent and live in these places tend to not eat that much to begin with, yet alone know who to cook good food. She probably wastes her money on 75$ door dash orders from hoity-toity chic restaurants that give child portions.
People also need to realize that this is actually considered normal to a fair rent and it's still on the low end because she's on midtown Brickell area which is not like the more expensive parts of Miami ... If this was on the ocean a comparable to this would be $2-$3000+ more. Also she's just wasting throwing all her money on all that unnecessary shopping...what a waste.
As a Miami native she is clearly paying way too much for that apt. She can move elsewhere and rent a house or even better buy a house and the mortgage would be cheaper than her rent. The math doesn’t make sense to make why to even stay? Unless her job is walking distance that area is so bad for traffic legit the streets are only two lanes. But to each it’s own.
True, but you will not like the location much, plus it comes with the stresses of roof issues, water main issues, hurricane, flooding issues. She doesn't have to worry. Townhouses are selling for $700k where I am in South Florida and it's ridiculous, this girl might have a steal on her hands, I think her rent will be higher than $4300 in a few years, someone else will love to take it for a few years just to say they lived there, it's kinda unique ⚡⚡⚡👀
Half the people in Florida are on vacation and the other half are just as happy as she is? Hmmm very interested in how she got those stats...oh yeah, she's in Media Relations - that explains a lot 😂
Wait, isn't it against the law to have to pay a pet deposit for a service dog? Also, no landlord can deny the rental of a property for folks with service and emotional support dogs. Why does she need a 1200 sqft apartment for one person (and tiny dog)?
can someone please explain to me, I cannot understand, why does she need 1200 sqf appartment? If I lived alone, I wouldn't go above 400, no way. Imagine all that cleaning and for what?
Kudos to her if she is happy but $4,150 x12 is $49,800. It's insane to pay that much in rent in a year (and that's not even counting her utilities and other expenses). In 10 years that obviously $498,000. You could pay off a 400k home in 10 years paying that much. I mean...i don't think it's worth it to overpay like that just to live in a certain location but to each their own
The apartment is gorgeous is very beautiful decorated I'm an interior designer in a home stage of it I'm sorry I would not pay $4,500 anywhere she could've got in a house without with her own pool
Her apartment is super nice and spacious. That bathroom 😍 I could never pay that much for an apartment though lol I moved from NYC to Orlando, FL a few months ago and I pay $2350 for a luxury 2 bedroom apt. I get to have a spare room for working and my music all while paying the same price I paid in NYC for my 1 bdr.
The fact that someone needs a real estate agent to rent an apartment is insane. But it sounds like this is a condo & NOT an apartment and it’s being rented by the owner.

I agree. I'm a psychiatrist and I now straight up refuse to fill out letters for service dogs to enter apartment buildings where pets are prohibited.

I live in a major city near her. Our MORTGAGE is $2600 a month, and we will eventually own the place. She will never own her apartment...

can someone please explain to me, I cannot understand, why does she need 1200 sqf appartment? If I lived alone, I wouldn't go above 400, no way. Imagine all that cleaning and for what?
Kudos to her if she is happy but $4,150 x12 is $49,800. It's insane to pay that much in rent in a year (and that's not even counting her utilities and other expenses). In 10 years that obviously $498,000. You could pay off a 400k home in 10 years paying that much.
