During the pandemic, I went through a 1-year period where I worked 20-hour days for months on end in public service. It was deeply fulfilling, but also bitter work and dark times. During that time, I think I spent hundreds of hours working to nothing but this song on loop. It is hard to put into words how much I love it. Like most of Yiruma's songs, the interplay between major and minor effortlessly takes you to a place of nostalgia, warming you and chilling you at once. The motif from 0:58 to 1:23 is a perfect example of this - wistful, longing, and making you anticipate the happiness that's coming with the next part. But this piece is also undeniably happy! The main motif (the one you hear from 0:00 to 0:17, 0:42 to 0:58, etc) is nothing but joy, and I especially love the iteration from 1:23 to 1:55, which is played lower and a teensy bit faster than all the rest - it makes my pulse race and my heart sing with pure happiness, and I'm pretty sure that I am anticipating those 30 seconds when I listen to it on loop (which I do a lot). To me, this piece is the audio equivalent of stargazing - a can't-stop-yourself-from-smiling sense of wonder, peace, and love for even the coldest heart. It is a triumph of the human spirit, showing us all that we May Be. I hope I one day get to hear Yiruma play it live.
First time I heard this song I was visiting the UK and a Malaysian girl played this song for me. I can't describe with words what I felt in that momment... even if I was full of vocabulary and with the skills of Shakespeare to write, I would never be able to describe it. Suddenly, he heard a melody sounds similar to his ears. he went through the darkness and found a bright side at the corner. An unexpectable situation happened, it was the girl he was searching for! After 7 years we didn't met , now u fulfill your promised to me, can we be a best friend again? He was very guilty but grateful because the girl didn't forget him for a long time. Yiruma really inspires me to think about music today, in this age, and it makes me realise that our generations music has so many uneeded add-ons. No matter how much I compare todays' music to the beautiful music Yiruma plays, Yiruma will always capture my heart and soul in his piano music.
As I listen to this music, I can imagine a story of two lovers who were meant to meet but separate ways in the end. The title "Maybe" could be taken from that story where both lovers do not want to destroy each other's lives and remain separated forever and love each other silently. Maybe, if there were no circumstances, the love could have blossomed.
I felt the same thing for almost a year... But, May be I could still be with her... Not so soon, but for half a decade at least... also because we are still quite young...

I used to listen to this particular piece of magic in my opinion, along with river flows in you when I was going through a very, very tough time 10 years ago... and today I re-discovered it. I’m literally sat here trying to hold back tears...music is so powerful to have that effect on you, but wow it really does. Such an amazing piece of music.
Whenever I listen to this music, I feel like it's telling a story that life has it's up and downs but we always come back to baseline and find peace. Many parts of this piece sounds like "hope", like a reminder for the audience that life is full of hope. That's why I listen to it when I feel unsettling and stressed, it just makes me feel so much better afterwards; to look on the bright side.

I don't know why, but for some reason Yiruma's songs seem to interact with people on an emotional level. To be frank, it's simply amazing. I believe that through his songs Yiruma can actually "enlighten" us in some perspective. I don't pretend to understood how or why this happens. All I know is that his songs cant't be described as just beautiful, they're transcendent to the level that it can deeply touch a person, and this is by no means a true testament to his skill.I believe he can do even better and that eventually he will create a song so moving and beautiful that it will surpass everything else. This is but a hope that I have. A hope that I desperately want to see become a reality, because this world needs more music like his.

I used to listen to this particular piece of magic in my opinion, along with river flows in you when I was going through a very, very tough time 10 years ago... and today I re-discovered it. I’m literally sat here trying to hold back tears...music is so powerful to have that effect on you, but wow it really does. Such an amazing piece of music.

Whenever I listen to this music, I feel like it's telling a story that life has it's up and downs but we always come back to baseline and find peace. Many parts of this piece sounds like "hope", like a reminder for the audience that life is full of hope.
That's why I listen to it when I feel unsettling and stressed, it just makes me feel so much better afterwards; to look on the bright side.

I don't know why, but for some reason Yiruma's songs seem to interact with people on an emotional level. To be frank, it's simply amazing. I believe that through his songs Yiruma can actually "enlighten" us in some perspective. I don't pretend to understood how or why this happens. All I know is that his songs cant't be described as just beautiful, they're transcendent to the level that it can deeply touch a person, and this is by no means a true testament to his skill.I believe he can do even better and that eventually he will create a song so moving and beautiful that it will surpass everything else. This is but a hope that I have. A hope that I desperately want to see become a reality, because this world needs more music like his.
