    I think Nixon needs to stick to returns and a sub at DB. Bullard and Williams NEED to be on the field as much as possible. They're just better players.

    Emmanuel Wilson was a preseason star last summer and looked like it again carrying 13 times for 67 yards and the touchdown, including the 23-yard run when he broke free. He got a little more work expected because our rookie running back Marshawn Lloyd left the game early in the 3rd quarter with a hamstring injury. Meanwhile Grant DuBose, our 7th-round draft pick last year who dealt with injuries in training camp and spent his rookie year on the practice squad, was Sean Clifford’s go-to guy in the passing game with 5 catches on 6 targets for 66 yards. The 3rd-and-9 conversion on the no-huddle series at the end of the half was good for 23 yards, with a nifty toe drag to stay in bounds. In an open battle for the #5 receiver spot, Grant DuBose took a significant step forward, and showed up as a blocker as well. Matt Lafluer acknowledged that Grant DuBose was disappointed to not make the 53-man roster last year and is channeling his energy into a strong response in Year 2. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛

  • @drexl7958
    @drexl7958 29 дней назад +4

    Man, i was so excited when we first signed AJ Dillon out of Boston college and really wanted to see him succeed, but unfortunately he didn't seem to pan out to be the power RB we needed. From watching film i saw a he has a tendency to get happy feet behind the line of scrimmage and try to backdoor a play when the designed run was gapped out, usually for a short gain at best.
    From watching some highlights of his collegiate career i thought when Dillon arrived in Greenbay (due to his size/strength) he would be lighting up defenders and making them pay for sitting the gap. I wonder if that was a result of playing alongside Aaron Jones (who has the speed and agility to do so) and trying to emulate his dynamic running style? I know he has it in him and wish him all the best.

  • @blue_minecraft
    @blue_minecraft Месяц назад +12

    I’m glad you brought up AJ Dillon because I’ve seen a lot of hate going around after he was on the field during the preseason game. I completely agree with you on him and that he should have ran harder. However in his defense the times he got the ball the blocking wasn’t great and the defense got to him before he even really got moving. He shouldn’t have hesitated like he did and should have just gone for it. Maybe LaFleur should keep him in longer during the next preseason game.

    • @d.s.8733
      @d.s.8733 29 дней назад +2

      It has nothing to do with how hard Dillon runs, it looks like he needs to run harder but what he cannot do is lower his center to get his pad level low which is why small defenders look so strong against him! Dillon hasn't figured it out by now and Now it's to late! Packers need to move on and cut Dillon not because I hate Dillon, but because he doesn't run the right way.

    Dillon got 2yds in 4 carries- def not great. However he got 7yds after contact, which kinda backs up that he wasn't put in a great place to succeed. Not sure we will see much different in the preseason vanilla offense, but they need to do better with the scheme come the regular season as no RB can be expected to achieve much when being told to just run straight into the DLine and getting hit by free rushers behind the LOS.

    I've been saying this since late last season. This WR room is the most stacked in the entire league. If Green Bay goes 4 or 5 wide, theres not a single team that can play man coverage. Our WR4 is better than any Cornerback 4 in the league. Hell, I'd go as far as saying better than any Cornerback 3 in the league.
    Side note: I'll take Emmanuel Wilson over AJ Dillon. AJ dillon is deemed a power back. But he just doesnt have the power that a power back should have.

    With this same draft i wish we didnt resign kesean nixon, cut royce, let go of AJ and kept Aaron Jones.
    We habe DB depth now but i feel them snaps of nixon will be of better use to other players. I hope he proves me wrong.

    Wilson needs to be the #2 RB, at least until LLoyd gets healthy and there is no reason to rush LLoyd. As far as Dillon, he is not a bad RB #2 on many teams but not on the Packers, on the Packers he is #4 and you can't keep 6 WRs and 4 RB's. Trade Dillon for a 6th or a backup interior O lineman.

    We need to put Dillon at fullback. We’ve been great when we had a full back. Start Jacobs followed up with Wilson or lloyd

    The Packers don't know how to use AJ Dillon. Don't have him run wide. Have him as I-formation tailback with QB under center, and have him run straight off guard or tackle.

    If the Packers are Smart, they will let Dillon Go! The problem with Dillon isn't his size, it's not his speed, it's not his intelligence, the problem with Dillon can no longer be fixed which is His Pad Level!!!! Dillon cannot get low and deliver a blow no matter how hard he tries which is why a small player stopped him from getting 1 yard! If your the coach of the Packers and your play call leaves you one on one in that matchup for one yard, you are going to run that play 100 out of 100 times unless you are giving the ball to Dillon because he does Not know how to utilize leverage.
    He has Never, since joining the NFL, learned how to use his strength with leverage and leverage Always beats strength!
