What Do Rickshaw Drivers Eat? Indian Food Tour

- I stumbled upon a group of rickshaw drivers parked up at a roadside restaurant just a few metres from the Indian Prime Minister's house, so I knew the food had to be great!
The Indian rickshaw drivers were all there for a ₹30 thali (plate of food). It's a massive plate with dal, rice, pakora, and papad on it. Drivers in India need a big feed at lunch because they work such long hours, and this was the perfect place for them to get it.
I also interview the owner and take you behind the scenes to the kitchen where this Indian street food is being prepared - although it's not very clean! The restaurant is actually on Government land and could be moved on at any point, but so far it's been there for many years.

Golden Rule No.1 - Never peep into a KITCHEN where the food prepared, you just had little ago. If you really want to check, do it before you go for food.
My Golden Rule- Never Peep into the kitchen. Just make sure that it's a chaalu (active) restaurant. A restaurant with less or no customers means risk of food poisoning.

I used to ride a rickshaw in the early 90s and we used to eat out at this place, it's fabulous. In 2003 I started a small grocery shop,in 2008 I got a chance to work in Saudi and since then i have not looked back. Currently I'm in Winchester, but your video took me to a time I relished so much. @@MaryAnnSweetAngel you'll be thankful to your parents when you grow up, when I was a kid I used to be angry on my parents for not letting me eat roadside chaat, Pani puri or any other street food, many times after school I used to go and eat Pani puri with my friends without telling my parents and because of this I got typhoid 4 times from the age of 12 years to 15 years I got typhoid vaccine after I got it 2 times but still after taking the vaccine I got typhoid 2 more times because I didn't stopped eating street food, after the 4th time I stopped eating roadside food because my health was very bad in 4th time and after growing up I realised my mistakes and I am thankful to my parents for always supporting me.
If you want to eat Pani puri or any other chaat food go to a good restaurant which would be clean, and always remember when you're eating anywhere outside your home always look at QUALITY and not only at QUANTITY.

Blame the system...I see absolutely no diff between Rickshaw drivers and Uber AC cab drivers...Still they sweat out in open while Uber ones enjoy the AC...Why??? So we should not speak in the local language to AC cab drivers, only English
To be honest rickshaw drivers earn a lot. They charge 50 rs for 1 km . I mean uber charges 15 for an ac car. They are literally looting

This food is good enough.... Hygiene is not white Walls and air conditioning. Any steaming hot food is always hygienic. Think about getting a wholesome meal for 40¢ anywhere else in the world.

The food seems ok if only they paid bit more attention to hygiene. They also don't have running water connection and sewage connection to cater to cooking and cleaning of 500-1000 plates of food. Sad part is those who have are also not clean either. Just a little more effort otherwise food looks healthy and nice.

Because of short budget in middle class wedding, they hire local and amateur ones. So they shoot what ever they want especially people eating food. And people make fun of guests when they are seen in the video, eating in an inappropriate manner.
