Why don't we have Target outside of the US? Because the company totally botched their attempt at opening stores in Canada about 15 years ago. They opened all of their stores at once, instead of trying a few at a time like Wal-Mart had done back in the nineties. They kept pushing back their opening date because they weren't organized or ready, so from the beginning, they did not manage to build a good relationship with potential customers. They replace Zellers, a chain that Canadians had relied on for many decades and they did it badly. They had huge supply issues, the shelves were bare and the prices did not reflect those in the US. So we did have Target here in Canada for about 3 years but they ended up going out of business. Hopefully they will try again at some point, when most people forget how horribly it went the first time, lol! This question being answered, I do love your choices for Fall polishes!
I grabbed Peace of Mined and Adió Bad Nails and love them so much, esp the latter. I’m loving all your videos and will keep coming back to grab more colors later.
So many purples and reds and blacks lined up this year. I think of ones I’ve worn so far though, my favorite has been the “new-to-me” Revlon Vixen. I got my twin’s bottle in a “neither of of us use this polish” trade and oh my gosh. It is such a beautiful, moody dark red. In most lights it’s red but in plenty it looks almost brown and in a few it’s borderline purple. Such a beautiful color.
I have such fond memories of Vixen. It came out in the '90s as Revlon's answer to Chanel Vamp (which as a broke college student I couldn't even THINK of affording). I loved it so much! I might have to revisit that one, since it's still around.

I describe the shimmer in OPI addio bad nails as a grungy shimmer. I wish OPI would do more shimmers like this! Also I’ve been obsessed with clay dreaming! It’s literally perfect.
You should try the new light and fairy collection, it was the midsummer collection last year but only in Europe, I saw that they got it in the US this year at target. I bought three of them, so cute

OMG, serendipity! I was trying to remember the name of Merino Cool. Thank you for mentioning it. I thought it was in Essie's 2009 Fall collection, but maybe it wasn't. It is beautiful, but on my skin tone it looks muddy. The purple in Merino Cool is ever so subtle, and only shows up on skin tones with a bit of a pink undertone. Anyway, Merino Cool is a great comparison color, because it tells me whether Addio Bad, Ciao Good Nails will work for me. Please keep using it as a reference point, it's perfect, even if if might be discontinued. Love your videos, great color palette.

I have many of the polishes you mentioned, but my favorites this Fall from OPI Clay dreaming and Piece of Mined. OPI really got it right this Fall. But,my favorite has to be the Morgan Taylor, blue, Tailored for you, I love it so much. I have that addio bad nails, ciao good nails because of your recommendation of it, it is such a cool eclectic color.

We had target in canada for a very short time, it was a failure, didn't sell well and closed within a year or so. I miss it, I liked having the cosmetics side.
Great video Laurie and great picks! I was totally hoping for another 50 polish video! But I appreciate that it takes a lot of time and effort for you to make these videos for us, plus we have your video from last year and the year before, I watch them every time the new season comes around, I love them! and I think it is a great idea to shake them up a bit each year, maybe do a longer one one year and a shorter one the next. I have added more polishes to my wish list after watching this :) In September I have been loving berries and purples so much, but now moving into October I am really looking forward to the rusty oranges and mustard yellows! Autumn is the best! Thank you for sharing your favs with us xx

@@GoPolished yeah lol they just didn’t have that “special something” the US Targets have. We used to have a chain called Zellers which were super despressing to go into and Target took over all their locations so I think maybe people associated it with depressing Zellers 😄😅
My fall polishes are pretty earth-tone heavy: Zoya Emilia, Sinful Colors Mercury Rising, China Glaze Glow-worthy, Send Hues, and Bronze Ambition to name a few. But I also like some colors (mostly warm toned also): Zoya Pepper, China Glaze Westside Warrior, OPI Chopsticking To My Story and Ski Teal We Drop are a few. I think my all-time favorite fall shade is Copper Penny by Revlon; it's like liquid copper, and is great on its own or as an accent w/ other fall colors.
I'm SO surprised that you picked Elysian Fields! I love that color but you don't usually gravitate to the pruglies like I do! p.s. The Orly fall collection pretty much all went into my fall faves!
Have you tried Dazzle Dry nail polish? Bone dry in 5 minutes, last close to 2 weeks, absolutely won’t turn nails yellow and actually improves nail health. I don’t sell it but converted polish freak that can’t go back to other brands.
Your comment about Target was a little bit of a stab in the heart! I am currently living in the UAE and missing Target sooooo badly! There's nothing even close here. I keep asking, "Where does everyone go when they need to buy detergent, cheese, and nail polish at the same time!?

Oh gosh. Hundreds. I have never counted and I am not sure I want too. lol. I bought Dazzle Dry to try and last year and still haven't used it. I really need to give it a try. I have heard such great things about them.

Small criticism though: you tend you say things like "if you don't have this, you need to get it because you're not a true Essie fan if you don't" or "if you don't have this color, I don't know where you've been." It is normal for you to have a lot of polishes because you're a RUclipsr who reviews them. But most normal people don't need to have every color you recommend because we don't need a giant collection of every color ever. We only have 10 fingers and we have other things to spend our limited money on. Younger people listening to your videos dont need to feel like they're not cool or not good enough if they don't have this specific color. It's okay not to have a wasteful collection of 1000 nail polishes that you need to declutter every year to make room for more nail polishes that will end up polluting our oceans one day.
Curious to hear if you are going to review the new Essie Winter 2022 collection? I have my eyes on some of them but unsure how close the creme ones are to previous Essie shades.

I don't love dark polishes on me so my current favorite fall is Essie's Mooning (I think that's the name!) and also O and J Cableknit.
