I am not really concerned about what any particular person BELIEVES. You may believe that there is an old man with a white beard perched in the clouds, that the Ultimate Reality is a young blackish-blue Indian guy, that the universe is eternal, that Mother Mary was a certifiable virgin, or that gross physical matter is the foundation of existence. The ONLY thing that really matters is your meta-ethics, not your meta-physics. Do you consider any form of non-monarchical government (such as democracy or socialism) to be beneficial? Do you unnecessarily destroy the lives of poor, innocent animals and gorge on their bloody carcasses? Do you believe homosexuality and transvestism are moral? Do you consider feminist ideology to be righteous? If so, then you are objectively immoral, and your so-called "enlightened/awakened" state is immaterial, since it does not benefit society in any way.
12:25 Impressive insights and brilliant Whitmont quote. Thank you :) I love the conscious mature ego at 19:30 that can optimize shadow's utility and keep it honest and constructively focused. 24:45 ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎The Path of Love: nailed it. I am humbled by your candor and immense insight. Respect
It can hurt like hell when you realize your hypocrisy. But that realization, the pain, can be the medicine. I've been deep diving into my own shadows. The recoil of pulling up PTSD has surprised me; I once had a full body-mind numbness take over me for a few moments. It's hard to recommend or not recommend this; everyone has their own reason and I can't tell them they're wrong.
I’m so excited to start hearing narcissists telling others why they’re inferior because the narcissist has completed their shadow work. Reminds me of watching videos of Ram Dass. If you’re honest, you can see the violence in his eyes and stance: the narcissist using humility as proof of his enlightenment. Thank you for this video. Shadow has had many names in different times; it’ll be fun to hear it used in the voices of hypocrites because it’s so relative.
This video beautifully explains Carl Jung's profound insights into embracing our shadow. The 3 steps to wholeness were presented so clearly, making it easier to reflect on our own inner journey. Thank you for sharing such transformative content-it’s truly inspiring and helps us grow toward self-acceptance and authenticity!
Fantastic work. Your narration and editing skills are growing into superpowers. So fascinating to watch your journey. The subject matter was something I had never heard before you introduced it a couple of videos back. I’m amazed it isn’t something the general public is not aware of, we all need to be to face the upcoming challenges.
It is lovely how the death of the ego points to the no-self principle from Buddhism. In the end, it is all an interplay of different energies and true harmony is to let go of them all. To let go of all of them, is to identify with them all, there is both a self and no self. It is just the pure harmony of unbridled phenomena, which is enlightenment.
awesome video! A great way to end 2024. Ty as always for your hard work and dedication to a channel that keeps me thinking. I'm excited about 2025 content to come!
Great stuff! I recently reread "Thoughts Without a Thinker" by Mark Epstein that points out the tendency of many Western meditators to disavow and repress their shadow selves, seeking ego obliteration rather than integration and negotiation. We find ourselves unimaginably angry over abstract concerns while bemused by our own envy, aggression, and lust. One could call this state an internalization of "slave morality". I really enjoy your videos and appreciate the content. Thank you for the bibliography.
Hey Seeker to Seeker! I have recently taken interest in psychology and I want to ask whether or not it would be fine for you to teach me how to create videos on such convoluted topics? You’ve been a huge inspiration to me and it would be great if you could offer some guidance for me! Thank you very much🙏
Thank you so much! I’m so happy to have seen your reply!! I’ll send a email over in a day or two as I have some work in school to catch up on😔 Sorry for the inconvenience🙏🙏
Do you mean Jung's idea of the collective unconscious or something different?
Месяц назад+2
The real problem with Jungian Analytical Psychology is that it is so Heterosexist. As it only really works if you are totally Heterosexual. For instance it tells me that my Anima must be female because females are the love object of males. Well this is absurd isn't it? My love object has never been female and it never will be. Therefore how can this Heterosexist dream analysis system ever work for me. Obviously it is just impossible. As the entire Jungian dream analysis system is just as Heterosexist as Jung himself. 💙
Unfortunately, it seems to me you are right. This and also Jung's complete disinterest in developmental/child psychology are two major flaws in his system. I do know there are Jungians who have further pushed his psychology in these areas and others, but I haven't read much on this.
Most shadows appear larger and darker than what casts them. Some compassion to the parts of oneself borne of hurt and neglect is not asking much. If it were another, we'd almost always be more readily comforting.
@ This is just my perspective but I feel like there are definite good and definite bad things in human nature. Thoughts and actions that have negative consequences for myself or others are bad and thoughts or actions that have positive outcomes for myself and others are good. So if good outcomes are what you would prefer you should go with the good and look away from the bad regardless of what this “shadow” would prefer.
From your profile picture it seems that you follow Buddhism in some way. In my case, I have been studying it for 2 years, the best years of my life, far from suffering. And shadow work helps me to understand my conditioned behaviours, I think it can help us find things about ourselves that we are not aware of and then dissolve them by understanding that they are conditioned and are not 'I' (Anatta). PD: Sorry for my English.
The second part mentioned in the video entails some investigation beyond the scary facade of the Shadow, We need to try learning what helped create it, what is it built from, as well as what it wants. A more comprehensive understanding will usually change what it wants, or rather, reveal what is needed. Only with compassionate understanding can we then move on to step three and negotiate (very important term) with it. Negotiation requires deep understanding of self. Understanding requires compassion. It doesn't mean give in to the demands of your darker side. It means coming to know it and giving it the attention and empathy we all deserve as a base. But also then that should lead directly to integration. I know the darker parts of the self seem on the face of them like a door should just be closed on that and throw away the key. I've done that. I think everyone does to some degree, because humans. Coming to understand the WHY of those thoughts or urges , the reasons behind them, is a difficult trip to one's past and having to come to terms with all that bad we'd rather never unbury. But with the right help and helpers, it is worth it. It's all affecting us anyway. And when we come to see the piece of self stuck there, in shadow... Well, I learned true self compassion that way.
@ if you get a chance, would you mind doing a video explaining why that is? I would love to hear your ideas. I always struggle with this. Why was it necessary for Christ to be crucified? ~ prophecy? Some divine comprehension test for humanity? It doesn’t make sense. I prefer to think that Christ lived. The true miracle was not walking on water, but living with kindness on land.

Bro this is pablum,
Was it necessary for Jesus to be crucified?
I feel his crucification is central to his story (and the meaning of the story)- second only to his resurrection.
