    Thank goodness for your channel! Honest and old school car,,,like my 85 Camaro. This makes a huge difference to know just what to do right for my car instead of all the other odd bits and silly suggestions or half info stuff out there! I want to keep driving my car everywhere, so that means proper up grades and repairs. Thanks again Toni! I would live a list of all your vids so i can look everything up!! :) cheers and Merry Christmas!

    Yes I know but I had my 4L60 rebuilt heavy duty some years ago. Thank you for doing this video. I love the UMI products. I have their 2point sub frames,lower control arms and panhard bar. Going to get shocks next. Looking at the Koni's or Bilstein brand.Didn't realize how expensive the Koni Yellows are! 💲💲💲💲

      HOTRODDER50 yes I agree they do make great products. and those are some good brands for shocks. but your right they are pretty expensive!

    Thank you so much for the Upload Sir. Please forgive my ignorance. I was very curious. Does this upgrade put any extra torque on the tunnel mount area??? Have you noticed any excessive wear due to the engineering change? I appreciate your videos and thank you so much for all your help

      Thank you and no this is mounted very well to the trans area with 6 bolts instead of 4 and the other end connects to the rear end so the mounting area is strong and the new torque arm is much stronger allowing alot less flex 👍

    As far as exhaust goes I have a 2.5 mendel intermediate
    Hooker y 2.5 cat delete
    And press bend tailpipe with thrush 2 camber wielded.
    Sounds bitchin.
    Also I'm leaving my stock trq arm and using the umi
    crossmember consvertion for my t5 nwc.

    I need this bar and mount but i have true duals and a long tail th350.... Will this still fit???

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  6 лет назад

      Jeffrey Adams depends on where your duals at. And as far and the cross member they make multiple different ones for different transmissions

    • @TonyTheTechnician

      HOTRODDER50 oh ok well it should still help with movement but your still going to have that force on the trans.

      I was going to get the umi trans crossmember but I had to go with the hooker competition trans crossmember and motor mounts since Im doing ls swap
      I got the Moroso motor mounts (like you have ) originally but then changed my route to do ls
      But yes QA1 sway bars are stiff as hell

      Cherokee semchenko ya I like the drive shaft tunnel as well. and ya I wanted to do an ls swap as well but maybe in the future. this engine has sentimental value so I have to use it haha. should still be fun!

    hi how are you sir. i love your video. and please forgive me ahead of time. i have a terribly ignorant and possibly stupid question. i found an 88 corvette torque arm at a yrd sale for 20 bucks and i wanted your expert opinion if it will sumhow fit in my 88 trans am? thank you for yor time sir

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  6 лет назад

      James Laiola thank you!! Hmm that’s a good question. I guess it depends on the rear end and trans in each vehicle. Maybe measure your original torque arm and compare it to the corvette torque arm. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help

    I have the same torque arm for my 95 Camaro Z28 from Summit Racing. I ordered the new longer mounting bolts also. I haven't received them yet. Im concerned about pinion angle. My car is at stock height. I havent lowered the car. Do I need to worry about adjusting it??

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  7 лет назад +1

      HOTRODDER50 no I wouldn't worry about it to much. if it's stock height. the torque arm is supposed to come preset or pretty damn close, you just have to make sure everything is tight. then whenever you do an alignment you can just have it double checked. but it should be good.

    did you choose UMI over BMR or Spohn on purpose? Specific reason or didnt matter.

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  7 лет назад

      Kyle Parker the parts that all three companies make for these third gens are basically the same design and quality with minor differences. so you basically need to look at which design you like, what features you want, the bushing material type you want and how much you want to spend. they all run about the same.

    what chassis grease would you recommend

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  7 лет назад

      Kyle Powell I've used Lucas, valvoline, and super lube. they all seem to work well. just check to see which one works best for yours. whether they are normal rubber or polyurethane. if you have alot of poly bushings and stuff then they make a grease that is better for those.

      Keith Pruett I think around 400 or 500. It was awhile ago. But it all depends on the transmission you have and if you want drive shaft loops and what brand you get

      HOTRODDER50 it should do a much better job at keeping you rear end from rotating front to back on hard launches and braking compared to the stock stamped torque arm and it takes the force off of the tail of the trans and moves it to the cross member so it might help a little in transfer of power from your trans to the rear end
