I'm from Ontario, Canada, and was at the 1992 DCI FINALS. In my opinion, nothing will ever beat 1992. The stadium just erupted over this song. People roaring and clapping. Everyone on their feet! It was the most amazing feeling to be a part of that. I played for close to 8 years of my life. Now as a 47 year old truck driver, I sometimes fantasize about driving for the Blue Devils so that I could be a part of this again. Sitting in on practices and being a part of that family atmosphere again. Those were the fondest memories I had of growing up. Leaving Canada behind for a summer to tour the States and play music. Meeting new people and forging friendships. Good times. Go Blue!
@@Scarrrz if you watched the original, it was 5x better, and at the end of the show, at a higher octave. I agree with sanderschat, it wasn't necessary in this "rendition".
Great video, BUT I wished they performed another song. The Bflat horns don't do justice and it lacks that nasty raw energy we had in 92. Do it up Devils!
I mean it’s an encore peace they probably went over that day. With no percussion or front ensemble. No shit it’s not gonna sound like a finals performance of a chart they have been practicing all year lol.
I’s say the difference between a piece you play in your show and an encore tune you play maybe a dozen times is huge. For a fair comparison listen to 1997 BD F tuning vs 2002 BD F tuning. The Bb line sounds every bit as full and buzzy.

Not sure if the 5 trumpets needed to go front center for that...
If you watched the original it's the same.

I appreciate the throwback to 92!!! Maybe more songs like this in your actual show?
Bagus, saya sedang suka sekali dengan lagu ini..

That's how i like em
There's actually a shit ton of age outs
This is literally the oldest corps they’ve had 😂

The 1992 G bugles just felt so soulful… even on video… I wish I was there to experience it but I didn’t even exist at that time

One year: 1992 💢
Went from 92 recording straight to this … the difference from g’s B FLAT is bigger than I imagined . you be the judge ,

What's with the 23 Chipper? We were going for #7.....
Good
Sounds great...but in 92' they didn't look completely lame.
Bring back the G bugles.
15 contra/tubas are more a wow factor than having more euphoniums. Sound is not that different.
