I've become quite a fan of @Siactro's bite-sized indie 3D platformers lately, and recently, he generously provided me with a code for his newest game, which came out today.
So how's about we take a look at this latest endeavour?
Though we'll also take a look at the prelude game he put out beforehand while we're at it.

Indie platformers are like fine art, you appreciate the effort and passion these independent developers put into their projects to recapture the golden era of gaming.
I'm really liking the DKC trilogy and Banjo and Kazooie vibes from Beeny and Kiwi 64 respectively.
After this video i need to check out Siactro's platformers after this video.
so far I've only played Siactro's Toree 2, i highly recommend it. short but fun
Got this game yesterday, and 100%d it the same day. Pretty fun game. Lacking replay value like Toree though which doesn’t help its short length.
Probably could’ve had more enemies or a boss or something. Just weird there’s combat and health in the first place when there’s basically 0 enemies in the game.
Still, can’t really complain too much with the price cos it’s still enjoyable
You pretty much summed up my thoughts on all of these games. I love how you're actively encouraged to go for your best time in Toree and Beeny, break the level wide open in Macbat, and collect everything in Super Kiwi 64. These games are so solid despite being so simple, and they manage to feel like complete products despite being a fraction of the price of bigger games that frankly release unfinished.
My point being, we NEED more developers like Marcus right now.
What if this is building up to a full-on love letter of a Banjo-like game where you control Kiwi and Beeny as a duo, like what Yooka-Laylee tried to be? A "Kiwi Beeny" game, if you will. Idk, I personally think it sounds cool.

Why is it that former Rare employees who were IN the Industry failed to capture what made these collect-a-thon games good with Yooka Laylee...
Yet this individual is able to capture the style, charm and near perfect gameplay of those classics better!?
simple really: they tried to juggle too much with Yooka-Laylee, resulting in it being a mess and a half

They tried to go even bigger than dk64 because of the new technology failing to understand it was the small dense world's that made Kazooie and Tooie good
Plus, a lot of Playtonic's devs were former DKC developers, NOT 3D platformer veterans. So they screwed up their 3D platformer, but when they made Yooka-Laylee and The Impossible Lair, a 2D platfoemer based on DKC, it was awesome.
Cut Yooka-Laylee some slack... at least it's better than Balan Wonderworld!
Siactro's interconnected universe of characters is something that brings me pure, childlike bliss. I love all of these characters. Unlocking macbat in toree or getting to play a demo for kiwi in beeny, it's such an awesome way to endear these characters into a world. I SCREAMED when I unlocked toree in beeny, it was such an awesome surprise.
This game is Siactros biggest work he’s made, and it makes it more apparent that he can absolutely make a fully fledged game that could go for $15 staring Kiwi, Macbat, and Toree. If that ever happened I’d buy it in a heartbeat

I could dig a web series or something based on the cast. Simple but charming plot and characters, unique and vibrant settings, there's potential!
You know, I should've guessed the same guy who made McBat also did this game when I saw it on the Switch shop. Makes me want the game even more since I played and enjoyed McBat. Had no idea this guy was such a passionate creator to boot as well.

Fantastic review, man! I put mine up earlier this morning. I'm glad to find another lober of Siactro's work! The way the world's feel connected is one of my favorite aspects. Kiwi was a great time!

I subbed to see more 3D platties! I'm just getting back into the style now that I look back fondly on a mostly complete N64 repitoire... I have a life I swear!
I predict that the dog will get his own game at some point. I love how all of these games exist in the same universe.
I really want to see Siactro make a full lengthed game. Ive been really enjoying Kiwi 64 and the Toree games but I feel like theyre fun little bite sized games and once I beat them I don't really have an incentive to return to them. I was able to 100% Beeny and Super Kiwi 64 under an hour each. While I did have alot of fun with them both I just wish there was more.
I played Super Kiwi 64 few days ago and it was a blast. I would pay big money for a lengthy game designed by this guy.
Im blown away at the quality of Siactro's games! They are perfect experiences and I cant wait to play Beeny! As I wasn't aware of his other efforts outside of Super Kiwi 64. The video was excellent as well, glad I found this channel!
PSA: Super Kiwi 64 got a free update a few months back, and it’s basically just a whole new game. Siactro is an insane person and I’m here for it.

the music is a real stand out
I really hope they add dlc, this was so enjoyable and I feel like it could be cranked up like 5 notches. I'd love to see some form of speedrunning or Easter eggs to add more replayability like toree 2 has. His move set was a blast to play around with and i think it would be so cool to expand on this whole little universe of characters and see like a bigger separate project where you can play as each one with a variety of levels, and the catch for this bigger game, and I wouldn't mind, would be like 10 dollars, which is still really good. I just really can't get enough of this guys games. But I'd like to see about that new Felix game.
Now this is definitely beany in more ways than one!

On a side note, I'm surprised they did not pull a Spark 3 & reveal that this whole game is all a simulation with that secret level.
Not much to say about this video, really. Short and simple for two short and simple games. I vividly remember the Siactro games from previous videos, though I've gotten pretty hooked on them after this video in particular. Must be the visuals, I think I have a soft spot for cute N64 visuals (not a nostalgia thing though, I was born in 2002).

I just finished Super Kiwi 64, I think it's great.
Kiwi's beak must be made of reinforced diamond, if it can poke into most surfaces like that without breaking.
Or maybe I'm just reading way too far into classic video game logic, ehe.

Not often a man reviews a game the day it comes out. Usually it's the day prior by merit of a review code or something, or anywhere from 1 year to 29 years later.

It's so utterly uncanny how he got the N64 Rareware style downpat. The saturated baked textures, the low poly models, mushrooms, the empty environments, everything has big cartoon eyes, the music isn't very goofy, but everything. If this was 90's. Siactro would get a cease and assist by Nintendo.
Considering I just got some gift cards for Switch, I think I know what I'm getting after seeing this video 😏

On the PC version it doesn't have a way of managing save data, so you can't just delete your save to start over. Also the pause menu doesn't have anything in the way of closing the game so I don't know how anyone is supposed to guess that the way to close the game is Alt + F4. A common enough key command but not everyone who plays games on Steam knows that kind of thing. Presumably on the Steam Deck you'd have to use Steam's overlay to close the game. The presentation comes across as unfinished as well, lacking much in the way of enemies or sound effects, which led me to think it was an unfinished Early Access title, but it isn't. The game just jumps you right in from the title screen without any kind of options screen or prompt to make a save file. Also it doesn't support Steam cloud so if you end up uninstalling it to make room for something else, you'll lose your progress and have to start all over.
i got it and finish it on release, I love the graphic, rare feeling that ooze from it, the gameplay and the music. I also love the evolution of his game, like the life system that was implemented for this one.
I do think that the game is way too easy, I needed to kill myself on one of the enemy to see what would happen if I die, the moveset is great, but I would have prefer if it unlock over time instead of getting everything from the start, also maybe reduce the ability to wall climb to certain wall because I skip many puzzle using it. finally I'm a bit sad we did not got a boss this time around maybe the melon king again since kiwi is suppose to defeat him on the island, maybe he did in the original kiwi 64(i did not play it)
"siactro's style of game doesn't typically lean towards being too difficult" evidently you have never tried to S rank every level in Toree 3D

Not every game is on Wikipedia, let alone every indie game.

Oh my God I bought beeny, the game was simple, but the horror level felt out of place.
Ik it's 2.99, but I was still surprised how little it took to complete. Only one kind of enemy, who's only in half the worlds. No bosses. And like Toree, I wasn't a fan of most of the levels feeling more like an extension/act 2 of the last one, with shared songs. Rather than every level looking different. But great controls, music, look, love the beak climb and fun cheat codes. Though I can't find the code for the third world anywhere! I also wonder if some of the pop in was intentional.
I have macbat 64 and toree 2 too damn short but man they look great on OLED really thinking of super kiwi but it being so short is holding me back I'm about to say screw it and play it and buy it!!!!!
I had a hunch the previous review was a sponsored review, which is why I didn't watch it. I'm not a big fan of Game Mill Entertainment, nor do I want to purchase their titles... I don't feel like supporting games by the same publisher of Big Rigs...
