Burgess always brings his A game. I'm still amazing at how many people have NOT even seen this amazing film. It's not perfect.....but it's loaded with great performances, writing, filming, casting.

@@joelgriffin8222 Yeah, it's right there in the video. You can hit the play button again, Joel. That's why it doesn't require remembering, or people writing out quotes, instead of an actual comment.

I'm just so disappointed that he was crazy the whole time and Fats wasn't alive. My theory was so interesting though so I'm always gonna pretend thats how it is (if you don't know my theory go to the video "ending explained" about magic.) I will never be able to watch this movie the same way.
I like the fact that he's crazy, a possessed doll is such a tee-ball premise being used to death. You couldn't make a movie like that now since Hollywood only wants jumpscares.
Stories about sentient killer dolls always use the idea that the doll is possessed by a killer or demon I'm not aware of any that are just alive because they are
Come on!!! Didn't anyone catch on to the foreshadwing by Fats here besides me!!! "see the broad with the big jugs"----Fats was referencing and foreshadowing Peggy.....and "wonder if she'd like to roll in the shavings with me"....referencing and foreshadowing Corky in Bed with Peggy later on...Corky was rolling in the shavings with Peggy!!! Fats was hinting at the scenes to come with meeting Peggy and Corky screwing Peg!!! Why am I the 1st to pick up on that!!! Because Corky has that split personality--him and Fats.....when Corky rolls in the shavings with Peg, the part of Corky, which is Fats is rolling in the shavings with her too!!!
Anthony Hopkins Really Did A WonderFul Job Portraying Corky The Ventriloquist In Magic An I AlSo Just ♥ Him

Both Meredith and Hopkins were brilliant in this film.
Yeah.
Burgess Meredith was asking in so much of his work
Pigeonholed as "The Penguin" though 😢
Grumpy Old Men - he OWNED that one.
Skin Boat to Tuna Town - the OUTTAKES at the end are too much.
Intense as F- and hilarious - what a guy.
And to think if the movie ended here it would have been a happy ending.
Weird seeing Hannibal Lecter and the Penguin in a movie together.
And Charles Emerson Winchester the third.
Just came across this movie on antenna TV. Saw the second half of it. I forgot that I had seen it back in the 80s. Spooky then, still spooky today.
And Fats The Ventriloquist Dummy He Really Looks A Lot Like Anthony Hopkins :D
They had the doll made to look like him
It's all going to end in a happy ending.
David Ogden Stiers and Burgess Meredith both have one role in common, The Penguin.

The novel suggests that Fats may have been real. Some of the chapters contain entries from Fats' diary and he first appeared as a disembodied voice.

Charles Emerson Winchester!
