- This rant is about the current monetization, and the nerfing of new cards while putting them in HIGH costing bundles. I urge everyone that doesn't have a Discord to actually sign up, and voice your opinion on the matter. This is pure INSANITY what they are doing, and I'm upset at the practices of Second Dinner. That Mobius nerf really annoyed me, I saved tokens for a month and got to play with his original design for a week!
There was no prior communication about flexible metas or cards that may be changed. They released a bundle knowing the card in it was going to be nerfed, that was as they say always the intention.
I think it was in interview with KM Best that Glen said that card strength was separate to cost. Look at Series 4 releases since Spotlight Caches:
2099 non existent
Mobius destroyed
Spider Ham is finally coming back after several nerfs.
It's really hard to know what to get anymore, when they may not even last a month!
If they're going to do this; and refuse to improve their economy, I wouldn't mind spending 1000 tokens renting cards for a month to try them out.
If they bring back Series Drops and have Caches prioritise cards you don't have, I'd personally be happy because even one cache will have S4/S5 value rather than a measly 1000 tokens enough for a random Series 3.
My deck had both Mobius and Wave in it and I was steady climbing to infinite. I was rank 97 when the change happened and now I'm getting wrecked by Lokis and Elsas and I dropped to 93. Went back to 95 but the current hot location favors Loki decks and I dropped down to 94. Honestly, F second dinner. This is why I haven't bought a season pass since Silver Surfer. After he and Zabu were nerfed, their pattern was very clear: release broken card, oppress one side of the community for a month, then nerf.
So, in general my opinion about Second Dinner's business practices are that they give with one hand and the take with the other. Thanos would be proud how it all balances itself out... Now this is a company that is making more money from Marvel Snap than Blizzard is making from Hearthstone. They 100% could have kept token acquisition where it was AND give us Spotlight caches so that we could tackle card acquisition from multiple angles without throwing money at them. They get most of their money from the Season Pass and gold purchases anyway and I doubt their bottom line would get hurt by them allowing us to get cards easier. I don't agree with them about "Not everyone should have a fully completed collection".. that's BS. I've been playing since launch and still don't. The only people who do are the people who throw money at the game. And I see nothing wrong with everyone having every single card. We can still collect variants! They have at least 5 variants per card on average, plenty are unreleased... plenty will be in overpriced bundles. And they will still have a monthly paywalled card. And it doesn't really matter if everyone has every card because they can only play 12 cards at a time. They absolutely should let players catch up so they can play whatever decks they want.
Now as far as Mobius goes.. I never got the card, never wanted to and had it stayed the same, probably never would have. I can't justify wasting spotlights or tokens on a 2/3 card meant to counter a very specific handful of cards. That may be an unpopular take but I think my next one is going to be even more so.. Mobius should never have been "needed". Before Loki came out, nobody really cared. Zabu and Sera decks were good, but other decks could still compete fairly easily. Negative decks were a glass cannon that rarely "hit the nut". Anything with Quinjet really didn't bother me. I doubt Ravonna would have been scary either. It was literally Loki being as broken of a card as he is that required Mobius to counter. Loki should never have and still shouldn't be able to reduce the cost of the cards he copies. Honestly, I think if you are going to play my deck, you should have to play them at the same same cost as I do. Being able to outpace your opponent because you gave Second Dinner money, made for the worst meta since launch. I don't even care about Collector. It was Loki's discount that made him nearly impossible to go up against. Second Dinner created a disaster of a meta and then sold players the "fix". That alone is a bad business practice. Them rug pulling the people who bought their fix instead of getting a card they would have found more fun to use because they felt they had no other choice.... that was downright despicable.
*However I don't think this game needs a Mobius. He kills off too many fair decks just because Loki exists. You already have a counter card to deal with anything a Zabu, Sera, Ravonna, or Negative deck can throw at you. All Mobius does is kill the fun for the players who want to play those decks by literally shutting off their key feature. May as well come out with a card that says "Disable all Ongoing Effects" or "Cards cannot be destroyed" or "Cards that cost 4,5, and 6 cannot be played". What Second Dinner should have done was not release a broken Loki. Maybe they should have kept him at his original effect text which I believe was just about swapping hands with your opponent. But they figured this would sell them more Season Passes probably. They ended up nerfing every card that helped Loki decks rather than just address the root of the problem. Ironically they nerfed Elsa Bloodstone WAY faster than they did Loki or any other card and I hardly would have called her problematic outside of the rare instances that you could get multiple Elsa's on the board. But I digress, I don't think anyone should be focusing their rage on simply the Mobius being reworked. If Mobius gets reverted that just makes the game worse. There is a bigger picture. Second Dinner needs to be more careful about cards they add to the game and they need to address Loki. The only cost reductions that should occur, should come from Locations or Ongoing Cards.*

The card was way to strong. Something had to be done. I hope they reimburse those of you that paid money for Mobius
I dont think there was a reason why they couldnt have split his effect into two cards. Let Mobius keep the "Your cards can't be increased in cost" bit, and stick the "Your opponents cards can't be reduced in cost" on, like a 4-cost card like Blizzard or something. Would have kept Mobius relevant, and kept his effect around. Alternatively, could have changed him to a Goose-like effect, like "Cards with reduced costs can't be played at this location". Would still have a place that wasn't the morgue...

They should have left him alone, as time goes on you’ll see less of him . They destroyed the card , regardless if you paid money or a spotlight everyone got F***ed.
I disagree. He should have never been added and Loki shouldn't have been able to reduce the cost of the cards he got. Hell, maybe even Quinjet shouldn't have. Its absolutely broken to be able to steal your opponents strategies and cards and play them at lower cost. They should have been forced to play the cards at the same cost as their opponent. Otherwise they should have kept him at the effect he was originally going to have which would have been swapping hands with your opponent.

He should never have been needed or perceptually needed. Second Dinner released the problem and sold players the solution and then rug pulled them. You shouldn't thank Second Dinner... You hated that MMM ruined archetypes right? Second Dinner did that. They still haven't addressed Loki as they need to.
Why are you angry? Nerf of Mobius is good, because mobius ruined THE ARCHETYPES, by the only 1 card, ruined much types: Negative, Sera, Wave, and more, more.
Just by the one card, you can't be mad by nerf, it's good, Mobius still playable, stop crying
How are you gonna ask me why I'm mad on my video when it's clear why the fuck I'm upset. They intentionally made the card broken when they knew the moment he was released that they were going to nerf him into the ground. You spent 3k tokens or spent the gold to get him and his variant only for them to nerf the card into the ground. That same nerf brought back Loki into being the best deck in the game. That's the problem dummy
I have made numerous amounts of points about card acquisition and the lack of player agency in regards to this game. It takes forever to save tokens if you are free to play. The company hyped up a card to stop what was meta hell with Loki, and then the company remained silent when they knew they were going to nerf him without telling anyone that they were going to do that. It is a bait and switch that they did. That's what I'm upset about.. they keep nefing new cards that come out that they include in high costing bundles.
I said ALL of this in the video. Have a longer attention span that doesn't last 3 mins maybe you can tell what I meant and said. I said the same shit that has pissed other people off including the like to dislike ratio on the discord.
@@GodbodyRoku if you not playing, don't say it, Loki is not meta for now, Negative is pushing the lever of metagame, his back and absolutely destroy the game now, by Mobius nerf, if you have mobius - just still play it, but on final turn, it save from Negative, Sera or other card, that cut the card cost
@@GodbodyRoku Mobius has been broken from the start, then they add it to the game, it ruins a lot of deck's and been used more like a card, that not be a base of deck, if it's work good, if not - don't care, bless you, man, don't want to hurt or make you feel bad, only my opinion
@Pazhiloy_Bibster this is not solely on MMM its about the current practices that Second Dinner is doing when it comes to new cards. Everyone had to play against Loki and Mobius not only stopped him, but other decks. I do agree MMM stopped a lot of archetypes, but the point I'm making is.. Second Dinner purposely released him overpowered knowing that they were going to nerf him a month down the line after people spent tokens in order to get him. I don't know what your collector level is but I'm almost at 12,000 so I see a lot more decks and cards than a lot of other people do. I also know how hard it is to collect tokens in this game, because of how scarce they are. That is a problem and what I talked about in the video. Not really his ability because I have already went over it in another rant video on how insane he was when released.
The problem is them nerfing the NEW cards when the season has not been over yet. It is truly annoying on top of only having a week to get a new card while not doing any series drops for people to acquire some new cards. That's my problem and that is the problem everyone else seems to have in regards to this game.
