9:51 sludgepuppy is probably one of those words thats used interchangeably as either a nickname or a slur, depending on who you're talking to and where/how they were raised. Lucy, for example, was raised around humans, so she was most likely referred to as sludgepuppy as an innocent nickname. On the other hand, Deefus Veeblepister was likely raised around other Lenopans, so the word was used less, and when he left to undertown, the other species there probably used it as a slur.
9:44 I like to think that Lucy grew up on earth and never interacted with other Lenopans, outside of her family. So she probably thinks the word "Sludgepuppy" is some kind of cute nickname or something instead of like a slur. Like I just imagine Lucy shapeshifting into a puppy the first time she gets called that, really playing into her bubbly oblivious personality

Granted they could have made an actual plot point out of that, possibly having Ben in contact with her while he was Bullfrag and that’s how he knew Argit was a spy, but I digress.
Lucy knows Ben is bullfrag because let’s be honest who would name themselves bullfrag besides Ben and doesn’t reveal she knows to the higher ups but to Ben that way then they can easily keep up the disguise though whenever Ben gets ready to leave she reworks a few things to where her disguise can be in the same squad it was her firing at the gang
Transformers Prime has one story where four episodes occur simultaneously. The bots split up to intercept four different targets all at the same time and each episode features bits and pieces of a larger mystery that leads into the final episode climaxing in a major character getting absolutely fucked up. The episodes are Tunnel Vision, Triangulation, Triage, and Toxicity, all from Season 2.

Breaking down both episode. Very cool. Lucy is back from OS in one episode. Gorvan appears in Omniverse, I remember him appearing in the video of Ben 10: Alien Force. Nice to see Upgrade used again. My favourite is when Rook roasted Kevin after his car being destroyed. 14:19 - I agree, Grey DeLisle should voice more roles in Ben 10 and she hasn’t done it since the Classic Series.
48:50 Double clutching in simple terms: For when you need to drop a gear or more (e.g. go from 4th to 2nd) so you can accelerate well out of a turn, you first press the clutch to put it in neutral, then gas to match the rpms for the gear you want to drop into at the speed you are going, clutch again and put it into gear.
The concept of two episodes with the same story was also done in Chowder with the episodes The Wrong Address (Chowder and Mung’s POV) and The Wrong Customer (Schnitzel and Truffles’ POV).
39:50 The blue guy in the foreground behind the purple vehicle was actually a reused concept design for Rook. Another one is used for some generic guards in one of Kevin’s flashbacks during the Rooters storyline.
I always kinda appreciated how in OTTO motive, Ben just shows up in the last third of the episode to effortlessly deal with the guy who had been giving Kevin and Rook so much trouble. Really shows off the skill and versatility of Ben as a character.
Kevin is pretty inconsistent with how strong he is, in UA he was punting ult Humungousaur across a city, and in this episode he couldn't do anything to Otto? I'm not the power scaling type but you'd think he could at least help Ben by knocking Otto down by the legs or something.
Ill explain double clutching to anyone who cares, it hinges on something called a synchronizer. Most modern manual vehicles have one, and its purpose is to synchronize speed on both ends of a shift Double clutching is when you quickly shift into neutral before changing gears to sychronize because you dont have a synchronizer or to reduce wear on it. The only cars on the road today that need to do it are either big rigs or clasic cars. Also regarding taydenite ive got a headcannon theres taydenite the material and taydenite the currency, kinda like gold, theres the material that can be used to make things then theres gold coins or whatever standardized amount of taydenite there is that has and agreed apon value
I love these two episodes a lot for many reasons. One of them being that they’re both happening at the same time so we can see the progress of each. The Lucy story side was fun to see cause of the interactions between the characters and to see Gwen lose her cool, and the Otto story was a good showing of Kevin, Rook, and Argit. I also really enjoyed the Upgrade vs Otto fight.
Otto using the name “Otto gestalt” is a reference to transformers because “combiners” (the robots made from multiple robots) were given the fan title “gestalt robots” because it meant “more than the sum of it’s parts” but now are just combiners which makes more sense
Well from what I gathered it’s a fan made term for a sub section of combiners that have a unique personality while combined kinda like fusions from dbz and dbs
So generally, Transformers that are part of a series are actually made backward from the process Kuro described. The toys are made first and then the tv models are made afterward. Even the original Transformers were done like that, with the toys being imported Japanese Diaclone toys that were then used as the basis for the animation. Post season 3 designs were produced specifically for Transformers, which is why generally the movie characters look a lot more like their onscreen counterparts. Animated was specifically known for their show accurate toys because they followed this philosophy extremely closely. The live action figures don't do that because the insane metal origami that they call a tranformation is basically impossible to produce as a working figure. Or if they don't come as part of an animated project of some sort.
Bet Derrick must have been feeling pretty nostalgic about his time on Animated while making the Otto episode. Also it’s Zords in Power Rangers not Zoids.
There is another show that did the different POV and a really creative take on that, Wander Over Yonder made a Halloween episode where the villains see their army infected by happiness caused by Wander, and the other episode is a Christmas special where Wander give gifts to the army.
28:02 what I think is since Lucy spends a majority of time in her human disguise form, she’s just more use to manoeuvring as a human. So with her humanoid Sludge-Puppy form she can have the best of both worlds, the versatility of her mud from Sludge-Puppy as wells as the training she got for her Human form still being effective
Gorvan who first appeared in a video game, appears in Omniverse. This blew my mind when I saw this episode years ago. And as much as I love Rob Paulson, I prefer John DiMaggio as Gorvan.
Double-Clutching is basically where you push the clutch in to leave one gear; release the clutch, and theb push it in again to go into the next gear. It's pretty inefficient, I had to un-learn that when I started truck driving, it's much easier to float the gears.
@ 43:55 I would like to imagine its because there in space and the long distance makes the call delayed it's very similar to how it happens when astronauts are interviewed while in space. Granted it would be a much longer delay given how far from earth they currently are but oh well
18:56 I loved how they brought back the Annihilarrgh (AKA the Annihilarrgenesistoriathimiorgost). With a device like that around, it opens up a lot of possibilities for storylines.
It would have been really funny if Ben did transform into Alien-X immediately and then immediately teleport the Annihliharrg (or however you spell it) to him and immediately disintegrate (or with a few second delay), then just have Ben stay as Alien-X doing nothing for the whole conflict since there isn’t really any universal stakes so Belarus and Serena wouldn’t be interested, and they still want Ben to stay in transformation. And have Gwen make some comment “Great we lost Ben for who knows how long, at least the device is destroyed” than just have him appear at the end of the episode saying a line like “I hate Belarus and Serena, SO MUCH”, before calling Rook a second time (we have an episode of Ben being trapped as Alien-X, plus it would take away from most of the episode)
Honestly, I really liked Lucy in this episode. She is so awesome 🤩 I really wish she was featured more. And her laugh is just the most adorable thing 🥰
Other instances in cartoons I can think of that also show different events happening concurrently between two or more episodes would be the Chowder's "The Wrong Address/Customer", Harvey Beaks's "Comet Night?/!", and the Rise of the TMNT four-parter where the characters all tour through the Hidden City.
20:53 I like to think falling from that high-up activates the omnitrix's failsafe and makes it more likely for ben to get a flying alien instead of mistransforming.
About the ‘Sludgepuppy racism thing’ the lenopans were introduced by max as some of the biggest and meanest sentient creatures in the galaxy, I doubt most of them would even care what the galaxy called them, Though I wonder if they’d actually be more confused if they found out what a puppy is considering they don’t look a thing like them,
In Brazil there is a comic series called Turma da Mônica (Monica & Friends) that made a 4 way connected storyline between most of their characters solo comics Mônica, Cebolinha (Jimmy Five), Cascão (Smudge) and Magali (Maggy) it is basically a Cascão story in wich the other characters make cameos that are replicated in another angle in their respective story but it's still cool
Sonic Boom did this kind of "double episode" story really well. Also, I love how the robots in "Otto Motives" look like they're from Transformers Animated.
48:50 double clutching is when you shift into a gear in a specific way. say, from first to second you would put in the clutch, shift into neutral, release the clutch and put in the clutch again when you shift into the second. It's generally used for older cars, because it increases the shifting speed. The probable reason they're laughing is that maybe that car is new and double shifting doesn't add anything to it.
It’s gonna be a while until we get there but I do appreciate that when Ben is told sludge puppy is a slur he just says “Okay, sorry” and then tried to correct himself. It’s genuinely not that huge of a deal to him, it’s just no one told him it was a slur beforehand because the side of his family it applies to just doesn’t care.
Imagine if they knew Blukic and Driba fixed the Annihilaaarg because it blew up and Ben had to recreate the universe again, only this time everyone kept their memories
46:40 fun fact for you Kuro; unobtainium was a meta joke in universe! It’s a real life writers term for the magical McGuffin metal that does stuff the plot needs, like mithril adamantine vibranium cortosis etc. so the techs in universe were making the joke because it fits that description and the writers were making a joke about that joke because that’s literally what it is. I find it amusing that they’re writing a joke, about a joke, about writers jargon, by making the first joke writers jargon. Idk, it’s circular meta and funny
I think My Little Pony had a similar episode concept. One episode where the ponies go to Canterlot for a sporting event, meanwhile Spike is doin' a thing with the pets while looking after them.
Two things I want to bring up 1 Lucy's a shapeshifter so I'm fine with Lucy's eyes changing, and 2 while lucy probably doesn't know ben can't pronounce the annihilarg but who's to say lucy simply can't pronounce the full name as well

48:50 Double clutching in simple terms:
For when you need to drop a gear or more (e.g. go from 4th to 2nd) so you can accelerate well out of a turn, you first press the clutch to put it in neutral, then gas to match the rpms for the gear you want to drop into at the speed you are going, clutch again and put it into gear.
17:32, 45:37 KEVIN counter: 17
We’re back baby!!
@@dataroaming7512well, once OTTO transformed, Kevin had no way to fight him, because that would risk damaging the cars
@@dataroaming7512How would Kevin go about fighting Otto without damaging the cars after Otoo transformed?
19:04 n-word jumpscare
Ill explain double clutching to anyone who cares, it hinges on something called a synchronizer. Most modern manual vehicles have one, and its purpose is to synchronize speed on both ends of a shift
Double clutching is when you quickly shift into neutral before changing gears to sychronize because you dont have a synchronizer or to reduce wear on it.
29:50 I personally imagine that the mud is still Lucy’s and that Ben got it on his shoes as a result of one of her pranks
27:38 "and a really good-...oh my god"
When it first showed young Lucy, she's wearing her normal outfit, but when she goes to hug Gwen, it's changed to Gwen's shirt.
yeah he mentioned that on the video
@Kaika433 I know that now thank you.
42:58 Rook was probably trying to get them to spill info since they don’t know he’s a cop.
Ahh yes we have finally achieved peak, JESUS KURO

I would like to imagine its because there in space and the long distance makes the call delayed
it's very similar to how it happens when astronauts are interviewed while in space.
Granted it would be a much longer delay given how far from earth they currently are but oh well
OTTO Motives is my favorite cause it finally addresses how Ben can literally fix both Kevin and Rooks cars even better
Really glad "OTTO motives" got a full breakdown. It's one of my favorite episodes of Omniverse.

I loved how they brought back the Annihilarrgh (AKA the Annihilarrgenesistoriathimiorgost).
Mud Is Thicker Than Water is one of my favorite episodes, I'm glad it got a full breakdown. Thanks Kuro.
Imagine if the Omniverse team was a trio for the whole series - ben, rook, and lucy.
I would have had Ben 23 be the third member
59:47 That image right there is enough for fans to want a Ben 10/Transformers Crossover to happen
I had the hugest crush on Lucy as a kid, I was so hyped as a teen when saw her come back like oh shit I never thought she'd appear again
Same! I absolutely loved her
Honestly, I really liked Lucy in this episode. She is so awesome 🤩 I really wish she was featured more. And her laugh is just the most adorable thing 🥰
fun fact the term "unobtainium" has been used by aerospace Engineers since the 1950s. it was not invented by the avatar movie.
11:18 Kuro’s struggle with saying “rivalry”😂😂
17:55 "You like Kevin~!" Yeah....she likes the guy that almost roasted her and almost killed her for her cousin's watch
Perhaps she likes how he looks than how he is?
I love this kind of episodes. I was introduced with this with Chowder.
It’s that episode where Tandoori and Chowder were delivering an order and came back to see the restaurant missing right?
The robot kaiju fight with upgrade was so cool to me. It's one of upgrades best scenes in my opinion
Wander Over Yonder has a pair of episodes called “The Gift 2: The Giftening” and “The Gift”
Confusingly enough The Gift 2 comes first.
Phineas and Ferb did a couple like that, one involved the Fireside Girls as bees (in the B-story).
Transformers prime also had a 4 parter like that
@@jbcatz5 Heh. Bee-story.
20:53 I like to think falling from that high-up activates the omnitrix's failsafe and makes it more likely for ben to get a flying alien instead of mistransforming.
30:07 looks like Lucy’s trying to read Gwen’s magic book
The transferra identica spell no doubt
Maybe Ben could call his Lenopan transformation "Sludgepuppy" as a way to turn the slur into a more positive meaning for the universe.
19:09 it's bring an obscure relative to work day
I’m both genuinely surprised and happy that these two episodes got a full breakdown
27:50 this form of Lucy is so damn cute
About the ‘Sludgepuppy racism thing’ the lenopans were introduced by max as some of the biggest and meanest sentient creatures in the galaxy, I doubt most of them would even care what the galaxy called them,
Though I wonder if they’d actually be more confused if they found out what a puppy is considering they don’t look a thing like them,
In Brazil there is a comic series called Turma da Mônica (Monica & Friends) that made a 4 way connected storyline between most of their characters solo comics Mônica, Cebolinha (Jimmy Five), Cascão (Smudge) and Magali (Maggy) it is basically a Cascão story in wich the other characters make cameos that are replicated in another angle in their respective story but it's still cool

Woohoo I re-watched this episode and I gotta say I love Lucy Mann design in Omniverse
Tbh she is hot
16:09 Eyeguy is shitting out a laser. I know it's really coming from his back.
21:53 oh man I love Gwen’s line delivery here 😂
Imagine if they knew Blukic and Driba fixed the Annihilaaarg because it blew up and Ben had to recreate the universe again, only this time everyone kept their memories
Ben just want to say "I told you so!"
26:15 ooh reference to Lucy's og debut
37:36 that's the predator of the Tetramands. The sand ripper. Can't wait for an And Beyond episode explaining that creature.
Another Ben 10 breakdown for my mental breakdown
I think My Little Pony had a similar episode concept. One episode where the ponies go to Canterlot for a sporting event, meanwhile Spike is doin' a thing with the pets while looking after them.
oh ye I remember that, forgot that happend
Two things I want to bring up 1 Lucy's a shapeshifter so I'm fine with Lucy's eyes changing, and 2 while lucy probably doesn't know ben can't pronounce the annihilarg but who's to say lucy simply can't pronounce the full name as well
Kevin and Rook is such a underrated duo that I really wanted to see more episodes of with just those two
Mud Is Thicker Than Water is so fun because Lucy constantly pranks the audience, which makes you laugh along with the episode which also makes you drop your guard while watching the ep. It's so fun lol
I think Lenopans take on a humanoid from to be more compact. Plus, the familiar shape makes them more approachable to humans.
And more fuckable
They can’t change their density by taking organic shape
