Yes, if you spend a lot of time on the trails, you will see them. They are very active during the late summer months in the Smokies. There’s just so many bears in that park it’s inevitable that you’ll run into them. Hope you get to see some!

@@SensatiousHiatus Here in SoCal I've only been able to see one small cub out in Idyllwild. People always tell us if we are ever scared to sleep on our roof tent but I just never had any encounters I guess I never thought of it before. Thanks for sharing man. Can't wait to follow along your adventures.

@@ReadySetElement SoCal is awesome and so is Idyllwild! I love that town…San Jacinto is a great hike! There definitely are bears out there. It’s just that the Smokies have some of the most bear-dense pieces of land in the U.S. Cheers to the bears!

@@SensatiousHiatus Do you go much in early summer months? I typically will see 1 every 7 days in May. They dont seem as active?

@@ttoommssmmiitthh I haven't been out there in early Summer in a while and I think it just kind of depends. Generally I'd say they're more active in the fall as they are trying to quickly pack weight on before the winter.
