yep - Merle may have simply held them all, including Shane at gunpoint while robbing them (as he and Daryl had discussed before Rick showed up) - and the brothers just leave after?

Morgan never gets the guns from Rick. He doesn't try to shoot walker Jenny, but Dwayne gets bit by his mother anyway. A more poorly armed crazy Morgan doesn't make it as long on his own. And even if he does, he never meets Eastman or joins the rest of the group.
Rick's gunshots are what initially attracted the walkers to the department store where Glenn's go-to-town group were holed up. Minus Rick, the group wouldn't have attempted the guts trick. Without the walkers upon them, they wouldn't have needed Glenn to take the Dodge Challenger with its alarm blaring to distract them and allow the rest of the group to escape. Without this alarm, the walkers wouldn't have overrun the campsite outside Atlanta, and many deaths would have initially been prevented. Merle doesn't get handcuffed to the roof, but he probably kills T-Dog. Merle and Daryl rob the group and disappear on their own. There may have been casualties in the assault.
The evacuation of the Atlanta camp would have been postponed to after the CDC had been destroyed. No one in the group would have learned that everyone turns until later on. Sofia still gets lost, but without Rick and Daryl, no one wants to stick around to look for her, except maybe Ed, whose recklessness gets him killed. Carol, now alone and distraught commits suicide. Sofia's whereabouts remain unknown.
The group may still have headed towards Fort Benning, but because the timeline has changed somewhat, Carl doesn't get shot. Which means they never go to the farm. No Herschel, no Maggie, no Beth, etc. Glenn stays single and continues his role as walker-bait. Otis lives. But the Greene farm eventually falls as a result of either walkers or marauders, maybe Dave, Tony, and Randall's group.
Now that they're ahead of schedule, having not stopped at the Greene farm, there's a possibility the group comes across Woodbury earlier on, and joins them. Shane likely becomes a lieutenant for the Governor alongside Martinez. Andrea still hooks up with the Governor, happier since Amy is still alive. Michonne probably keeps walking with her pets beyond Woodbury's reach and continues to be a lone wolf.
It's difficult to determine how long Woodbury continues without the war with the prison. But, based on their boldness to even go after military targets for loot, they would probably come across the CRM at some point who'd put an end to them. And with them go the rest of our survivors.
Without Tyrese and Sasha providing intel about the prison to the Governor, they're not as easily permitted to leave Woodbury. The pair eventually become suspicious about the Governor behind the scenes, and he has them eliminated in a biter pit.
Abraham and Rosita continue protecting Eugene as they make their way towards DC. Eventually it comes out that Eugene lied about knowing how to cure it, and Abraham kills Eugene. Abraham and Rosita come across the Saviors, with Abraham becoming one of Negan's lieutenants and Rosita becoming either a wife to Negan or a lieutenant as well.
Alexandria gets overrun by the walker herd from the quarry, leaving no survivors, save for Aaron and Eric, who were out scouting for other survivors, eventually find their way to either the Kingdom or Hilltop. Or they're found and killed by Saviors.
Gregory's weak leadership at Hilltop continues, coupled with his inability to keep them safe, causing their people suffer as a result, many eventually fleeing to take their chances on the road. It goes as expected for them. The Wolves find Hilltop in lieu of the now destroyed Alexandria, wiping out the remaining residents.
Richard doesn't embolden himself against the Saviors, and eventually the Saviors make themselves known to all the residents of the Kingdom. This causes the residents to lose faith in Ezekiel, and their society collapses with walkers killing most of the inhabitants. Negan blames Jared for the debacle and has Simon put him down.
The Saviors, upon losing their tax base in both the Hilltop and the Kingdom, have to scavenge for food on their own, or find other communities to plunder. They come across the Wolves, deducing them to be the reason their Hilltop gravy train ran dry, and slaughter them all, as even Negan sees no resource in them. They are eventually discovered by the Commonwealth, who put an end to their barbaric ways.
The CRM continue their plans to destroy Portland, and eventually discover the Commonwealth. There is a time of cooperation as the Commonwealth has a formidable army, but ultimately, the CRM initiates their plan to annihilate them as well, in order to hoard all the resources to themselves.

If rick does not wake up the group follows shane to a definite demise travelling to or after they enter Ft Benning. It was talked about in Nebraska. Lets take that away and say shane stays near atlanta with the group. I see his erratic behavior in the first few shows (not evident on first watch but on later views) to be a major problem. Rick was able to get away from that bad guy attitude that took hold of him, twice. Shane would have let it fully take over him.

It starts Morgan on a different path... And everything in the group would have been different.... If they didn't leave the quarry at the same point in time Morales wouldn't have met the saviors. If they did leave Shane wanted to try to find a military base. It would have been more likely to meet CRM confiscating goods in the early days...

I think their fates would have been much worse without our hero. Daryl probably wouldn't have become the stand up man that he did, the farm would have eventually gotten overrun and everyone there taken out because they were too naive about the walkers. I loved Shane, but he would have likely killed everyone else but Lori and Carl if it came down to it, maybe even became abusive to Lori and carl if they didn't do as he wanted...and ugh, so many things lol. The only time I was ever pissed at Rick, was when he made carol leave. Amazing character!

If Rick never made it i believe the Shane and the rest of the campers would have died in the long run, must likely Shane would have killed Daryl and Merle because of their antagonistic attitudes and i believe the group would have supported shane with the exception of Dale.
The Saviors would have been messing the communities until they kill everyone by taking their resources but if they last that long they would have lost to the whisperers.
CRM would have killed more civilians and would establish a New world order in the US😅

With out Rick's appearance in the storyline, the group wouldn't have fared well.
    - Shane had been leading the group and firmly believed that the army was coming to save them and that they should stay at the quarry.. Without Rick & his bag of guns, most of the group gets wiped out at the quarry by a group of walkers
    - Merle & Daryl had originally been planning on stealing from the group & taking off. Without Rick, this would have ended up happening.
    - I expect that a few members would have survived the walker horde and start heading towards Fort Benning, but they would have ended up stranded on the highway by Hershel's farm. Eventually some of the remaining group may have carried on, but ended up at Terminus, where they would have met their demise.

    rick doesn't wake up:
the group that went to atlanta either doesn't make it back at all or they are few days late
camp is still overrun by walkers but would you look at that no rick - no guns - no support
    more of them die
they go to fort benning just like shane wanted
merle and daryl either break off or something
shane is viewed as the "bad guy" of the group being already in season 1 on that season 7 mentality
so they either abandon him or kill him as a group effort
    entire group perishes
    governor runs his woodbury asylum
    prison rots
hershel stays on his farm most likely being overrun as he was gonna be if it weren't for rick
saviors keep terrorising hilltop and kingdom eventually finding alexandria
trash people and wolves get dealt with brutally by negan
whisperers wearing walker skin fare no better against negan terrorizing 3 communities
    oh btw
abraham eugene and rosita keep driving their truck and eventually making it to DC truth comes out
abraham most likely kills eugene or tells him to run
rosita tries to talk sense into him eventually abandoning him
oh and michonne maybe makes it to woodbury
or maybe terminus and gets eaten
no physical reason for her to go to DC
    terminus yeah
they also keep luring and eating people
so yeah if it weren't for rick a lot of things would go terribly

  • @xyg6543
    @xyg6543 7 часов назад +1

I agree with other people in that this would be the kind of Tales episode I'd love to see. My thoughts, they would have found Negan far earlier but would have joined them and then we might've seen something like the Saviours vs the Whisperers... or the Whisperers wouldn't have even bothered to try to fight seeing how powerful the enemy is. They would have met the Commonwealth eventually but the dynamics would be very different (something like an alliance). Eventually an uprising coordinated across both communities with Shane, Negan, and Pamilla dead. Unless Shane redeemed himself but I could see the power going ton his head and be Negan's righthand man.
That said, the Merle vs Shane dynamic would've been really interesting to see - would they have just split in the end? I still think that Daryl would have changed but it would have taken far longer, like something went wrong with Merle after they split and he eventually found the original group again. If Merle had killed off Shane, would he still have willingly joined the Saviours?
I wonder if they would have ever met Michone? Would they have ever ended up at the prison and come across the Govener? So many way the story could've gone differently. I do think that with Shane being the leader of the group, the whole thing would've been a lot darker. For example, I think that they would have just overtaken the farm and killed Hershel, Maggie...etc.
Another great video James, thank you!

    • @TWDExplained
      @TWDExplained  4 часа назад

That is a dark outlook on the farm. Maybe the rest of group would not have allowed that. I do see Dale being murdered by Shane and made to look like an accident.

Easy answer, they all would have died in the first season. If it wasn't for his STACKED plot armor and INFINITE ammo 6 shooter they would ran out of bullets and got munched. I mean, he should not have woken up. He had to have been unattented in that hospital for weeks without water based on Jenner's records on the virus in season 1.

Everyone or at least most of the OG group would be dead. Rick is the one that keep them all alive, despite the dangers. Okay, not everyone survives, there were things he couldn't do anything about.
Shane would not have been so cool about Dayrl and his bro robbing them. He'd have made a move that would have seen people die, possibly including his unborn daughter and Carl. The remaining members would have turned on Shane.
No one would have been given any training as Shane would see that as a threat to himself. Trusting only those he believes can be trusted with any firearm. Whereas Rick gave anyone willing training.
Shane would rule with an iron fist, which wouldn't help him much. Where as Rick led by conscent and where he could tool everyone's opinion into account.
So at some point Shane would have died and chances are not many of the OG group would have made it out alive to see the events of S2, I'm sure he would have tried to rule Herschel's farm if he could.

If Rick never woke up, Shane and Lori would still be together, Merle and Daryl would have robbed and left the group, the group would have never joined Hershel’s farm so that’d be safe, they would have either ended up at fort Benning or met Woodbury and the governor and resulted in most of the group dying due to Shane’s leadership and who he values in the group like Lori and Carl. They would either die at the prison, on the road to Terminus or at Terminus
