Fabio (the singer) is the third one of the band (like Floor is for Nightwish). Their first singer unfortunately passed away a few years ago. He was one of the best singers Brazil ever produced. Our maestro: Andre Matos.
Fabio Lione, previously from Rhapsody Of Fire and Kamelot, was then the touring vocalist for Angra before becoming their new singer from 2013 on. He normally sings on a higher register for the typical metal songs, while here he acts as a lyrical tenor (his actual voice type) The strings are played by Familia Lima (father and sons) very famous in Brazil for mixing classical music with rock and pop music. They were guests, as well as Tarja and Uli Jon Roth, for this concert which was later released in DVD, from the tour the band did to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album
The male singer in Stand Away is Fabio Lione, current singer for Angra and ex Rhapsody (of Fire). He's very talented, and you've already heard him, though you might not remember it, as he was featured in "Barbie: MILF Princess of the Twilight" by Nanowar of Steel of all people (He's also Italian and he kinda parodied himself in that song).
Wuthering Heights is a cover of Kate Bush's hit. As mentioned below, it's a really difficult song to cover. Uli Jon Roth is one of the great unknown guitarists. He came on the scene in the 1970s with the rock band Scorpions. He came into his own at the end of the song. What an ending, a duet with one of the greats of guitaring and The Great of vocals. Despite her great performance, notice her great respect and appreciation for Uli. True Tarja

At 5:30 it took me second to realise that it was Tarja singing that low part..... for a second I thought it was an another male 😅 even though I have heard Tarja sing those low notes a lot. Tarja is (or was) married to an argentine, so she is around South America often. And Kiko Loureiro, who was Angra's guitarrist until the mid 00s, is married to a Finnish woman.

To these who like this song, amazing performamce is by symphonic metal band Liv Moon, but on RUclips is only studio version, unfortunately not live version. :( If you like symphonic power metal, I recommend amazing japanese band Matenrou Opera, you already reacted to some japanese bands, right? Thank you for the reaction. I knew Tarja loved Kate Bush, but I didn't know she covered her song Wuthering Heights, and if it wasn't for the caption, I probably wouldn't have recognized. Tarja's voice made it a completely different song. In this case, I probably prefer Kate Bush and her high voice, but Tarja is always a joy to watch and listen to and I like her version very much as well. And her final duel with the guitar is great, I love her sense of humor. I heard Stand Away with Angra for the second time in my life, and their duet is excellent. I would also love to hear them sing Phantom of the Opera together. Fortunately Tarja sang Phantom with different singing partners, so we have a rich collection of her favorite song and hopefully we will get even more.
I agree with you on Wuthering Heights, Petra. I have Kate Bush's original in my CD collection and heard it right after again. Kate's Version sounds lighter to me, more playful in this song, which is good for the song. But Kate is Kate, in her own way she is as unique as Tarja. Wonder what it would sound like when Tarja and Kate collaborated together or what it would sound like if Kate sang one of Tarja's songs. Would love to hear that.
I don't think Tarja actually covered it before this performance. Angra actually had covered Wuthering Heights on their first album, with their former singer Andre Matos (RIP)
After Kate Bush, only Tori Amos, Tarja and Tatiana (Jinjer) have really impressed me as singers. Kate Bush will always be in a class of her own, but Tarja's ending was funny (although Tarja singing Kate is a bit like Floor singing Tarja - it just doesn't work for me).
Wuthering Heights is a beautiful song, and as much as I have always loved Tarja, I have to say that the first time I heard this performance many years ago I did not feel like Tarja's vocal style is a good match for the particular vocal gymnastics unique to this song. At all. I'd like to suggest you try checking out the studio version with Angra's own male vocalist to hear what it originally sounded like. Quite different. It is based on an 1847 novel of the same name. The original musical version so far as I know was done by Kate Bush, but I like Angra's better.
Wuthering Heights is so hard to sing. I don’t know why they would pick that song and then speed it up. The ending was fantastic and Stand Away was fantastic. You may want to check out the original Wuthering Heights from Kate Bush. It’s about the book. I don’t know if you’ve read it. I would check out the music video version. It’s extremely hard to cover Kate Bush. Her voice is so unique. She’s also a phenomenal singer/songwriter.
I doubt you will pick up Emily Bronte's 1847 novel Wuthering heights, so short version. A man loves a woman above his station. He is rejected. He can't handle it. Love turns to hate. Hate turns to a personal crusade to make life misersble for her and.the man she chose. So there is the passiom, drama, and motivation behind the lyrics and music. If you read victorian works of fiction they are dense and heavy and complex use of words. Very formal. Repressed is another word. The woman he was chasing had mental health problems. So that is the background they are playing against. Tarja has the IQ and reading comprehession to digest it and put it into the music. People who had issues with Tarja were stressed by her perfectionism. She pushes herself and others. It can be hard.
The book is great. One of my favorites. It’s especially great for it’s time. I don’t like how they sped it up though. Now that I think about it, maybe it wasn’t sped up. I guess singing classical vocals at that speed is just hard.
I see very little evidence that she pushes others, she encourages and makes things rather easy , that's why so many are so very happy and smiling when they are with her. ☮☮💘💘

They actually have performed it together apaprently, year 2013 in Karlsruhe, where Tarja studied :D But the quality of the recording is is really bad
