- For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
2 Tim 3:12 "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."
2 Tim 1:8 ...(cont.) "be thou partaker of the afflictions of the Gospel according to the power of God;"
I love how your not just going around telling people you’ve got a word for them or a prophecy over there life your just straight up giving the word out. I know God is greater than all of the schemes and wickedness of this world I’m just tired of all these people trying to manipulate my mind. I feel as if the only person I trust is God at this point and I’m glad I found someone else trying to strive there best to be good. Grace be to you keep trying your best that’s all we can do and keep helping others.
Speak it
I've got ya ❤
💚
Amen

I wander what happened to Timothy later in life, I hope he fought till the end
According to Foxe’s Book of Martyrs, “as the pagans were about to celebrate a feast called Catagogion, Timothy, meeting the procession, severely reproved them for their ridiculous idolatry, which so exasperated the people, that they fell upon him with their clubs, and beat him in so dreadful a manner, that he expired of the bruises two days after”
There are other accounts such as “Acts of Timothy” that say basically the same thing. That he was beaten to death by a mob for rebuking idolatry. It’s likely true considering the time period he existed in, if so then he absolutely did fight the good fight till the very end. I believe he did.
@@Dead_Men_Come_Alive amen. Thank you for that, I also loved the letters to Timothy, as he was a young man and I relate. But I’m glad he died a martyr, what a soldier.
What translation are you using?
@@georgehernandez2399 NIV, not the one I’d recommend for study but an easy to listen to version.
I read the NKJV & ESV. But this one sounded calming so I thought I’ll ask. @@Dead_Men_Come_Alive
Ummm, i hope you don't mind me asking, but what church are you affiliated with?
I’m don’t mind at all. It’s a bit of a tough question but I’ll try. I don’t believe in denominationalism, or theology. I hate denominational labels and the fractionalized state of Christianity today. I used to be a die hard oneness Pentecostal and thought my salvation was sealed because of the denomination I associated myself with. Long story short I had an encounter with God in a desperate situation two years ago that changed everything. The true faith in Christ changed me more in the last two years than the decade I had spent trusting in man made theology. I began to study the Bible sincerely and found that a lot of what I had been taught was inconsistent with the text and gradually pulled away from the things I had been taught most of my life. I trust the Bible whole heartedly and believe that what is written is the interpretation of what the apostles saw and heard. I don’t believe that requires another secondary interpretation whether additive or subtractive to the message of the gospel. I don’t believe a theological lens is necessary for a proper understanding if you study with a sincere motivation to do understand it. It seems to me that it’s not nearly as complicated and hard to understand the gospel when you set theology aside and just read the text as it was written. That being said, I left the church I had attended for so long and have been looking for somewhere that best fits core beliefs of the original church, but it’s been a journey and I’ve tried so many denominations and it’s only further driven home to me how much of a fractionalized mess we’ve gotten into in these last days. Me and my wife have visited at least 11 different churches. Im currently attending a small local church of God with an awesome group of people with amazing testimonies about how God has changed their life. I believe there are true sincere Christians spread throughout multiple denominations with the only thing separating them being a title, and it’s a shame. Don’t get me wrong I believe there’s a lot of heresy out there too and I’ve seen it first hand.
I’m interested to hear your perspective though, if you don’t mind. I’m sorry this was such a word salad mess, it’s been on my mind a lot and it’s hard to articulate what I mean sometimes.
@@Dead_Men_Come_Alive Me personally I'm a Catholic, but I don't believe we could ever find a perfect church. There's bound to be evil and corruption in every church. And yet Christ's promise that he will be with us to the end of the age is still true. But for me I have found Christ in the Catholic Church and I desire to be involved in the life of my local church. I hope you find that church you're looking, I was just curious cuz you were showing pictures in your channel like St Ignatius as your pfp so I assumed that you may be Catholic.
@@OneDropIsAllItTakes I believe one of the biggest losses of protestantism is the lack of historical preservation. No one talks about church history within protestantism and it’s a shame. I started learning about early church history around the time I started studying the Bible and it’s just so rich. Ignatius of Antioch’s final words to the church before his public execution are so moving and powerful.
“Let me be food for the wild beasts, for they are my way to God. I am God’s wheat and shall be ground by their teeth so that I may become Christ’s pure bread. Pray to Christ for me that the animals will be the means of making me a sacrificial victim for God. No earthly pleasures, no kingdoms of this world can benefit me in any way. I prefer death in Christ Jesus to power over the farthest limits of the earth. He who died in place of us is the one object of my quest. He who rose for our sakes is my one desire.”
There’s no doubt in my mind that Ignatius had a real & deep faith, not just in word but in action as well. I don’t want to see us forget about men like him. True imitators of Christ.
@@OneDropIsAllItTakes I’ll also give you my opinion for what it’s worth on the division between orthodoxy and Protestantism. I believe there’s no doubt that the Catholic Church was corrupt around the time of the reformation but I’ve also read some of Martin Luther’s writings and It’s clear me that he wasn’t any better off. If we follow man we’re sure to lose. There’s no good fruit in factionalism. There are no clear cut lines anywhere you look no matter how convenient that would be it’s simply not the case. Always put your faith in Christ first and foremost and I don’t think you can go wrong with a proper understanding of the gospel. I’m sick of hearing all the millions of voices out there screaming “we have the answer” when it’s been written down for almost two thousand years. Christ is the living hope and He still shines in this darkness all the more, even today. The sheep and the goats will be separated from amongst one another one day and we will all be unified forevermore. Hold on to the faith and let us be unified in that faith. God bless you brother.
@@Dead_Men_Come_Alive Brother, I recommend these channels, they're good. "Sanctus" and "Since Thirty Three".
