These men changed and opened up the World we all live in, yes it is that big. BTW it was Portugal (not Spain) who lead the reconquest of the Iberian Peninsula, should it not be Portuguese who are held in the Light. It was Portugal who lead the The Golden Age of Discovery (Order of Christ), not the Spain,Not The Dutch, not the French, not the English, not the Italians, so why are these Countries credited for their roles after the Portuguese Voyages. Mostly they were even using pirated Portuguese Portolans. Portugal One of the most Gutsy countries ever in World, a Country that commands more respect. However it is not the Portuguese way nor the Templar/Order of Christ way to seek the Limelight!
Tem a certeza que ha 700 anos se escrevia "Dinis"? Ha 500 anos escrevia-se Bartolomeu Diaz e não Bartolomeu Dias. E, ha cerca de um século atras, o grande Fernando Pessoa escreveu o poema "Mar Portuguez" e não "Mar Português".

Two of the nine were in fact from the old town of Braga/Bracara augusta in Portugal.
