Should call that tent, ‘The Limpet’, that’s not going anywhere 😁👍🏼 What a stunning morning, and equalled, only by your reaction to it. Cracking that. Cheers, Gary B.
Nice one mate. Nice to see your cap out. Mines has made it back into my bag but not onto my heed yet 😂 My guess is Durston Xmid for new tent. great vid as always 👍
As always, another excellent video Andy. You were treated with a stunning morning 🤙🏼. Are you attending the national outdoor expo later this month? I'll be there on the Sunday.
Excellent video Andy the Chinook just sheds the wind wouldn't know it was blowing if you couldn't hear it ! excellent sunrise and enjoyable content as ever ! All the best !
Cracking camp Andy , the chinook wasn’t even budging in those gusts 💪..and them views in the morning just don’t get any better 🌅👌, great conditions for a summit camp with that layer of snow, atb Mick 👍
Awesome camp Andy, the sunrise was stunning, no matter how many great sunrises/sunsets I see, it'll never cease to amaze me. Btw, the hail like snow you were describing is called "graupel"....it's a real bugger for causing avalanches if another load of normal snow covers it, it's literally like ball bearings that the top layer moves over with ease 😬
Loving these videos Andrew I’m a ryhill lad originally you sound like you’re from Royston or South Yorkshire bloke live in Barnsley now me and my son been watching these videos lately and the other folk good bloke outdoors Paul mesner lads only 7 but likes these videos
Great climb Andy I remember taking misses up that route to get onto helvelin for her first time up there Did she enjoy it not at all but I loved it 😂 What a sunset amazing mate wish I was there
Very enjoyable that Andy, looking forward to getting back to some bigger hills soon. Looks well stable does the Chinook n all, was interested to see how it would do in some wind. Looks very good. That sky!! Tbh the camera picked it well, beautiful. All the best mate
Nice work Andy. Nice route along raise beck. Went down that way the other week. Tent stood strong in those winds. Much quieter than the Soulo 😂 what a morning though. Worth the effort. TFS. Take it easy. Craig
Another cracking video Andy. That tent looks a goodun. I’d never heard of them before so just had a quick Google, not cheap but you pay for what you get.
Thats as good as it gets ;) What fantastic conditions and a pitch to match. I am glad you mentioned how you are getting on with the Chinook because i have liked the look of this for ages , especially for the weight and size and it being a 4 season tent but i haven't heard enough about it and i have had a couple of reservations due to reading that the bath tub wets out and on the Big Sky website it mentions doing a Burn test on a piece of material that they send out. It's actually a Warning. I only boil water for brews and pouch meals in my tents and dont cook meals as such but it does give me a reason to be concerned that they ask you to do a burn test and if you are not happy with the effect you can return the tent. Performance wise and looks , there isn't anything not to like . I am also really glad that you mentioned the Trail Star too because thats another performer that i have always liked but exactly as you mentioned about the footprint / pitch size needed i have held back . Its the same thing for me in my inner for the DuoMid and i am only 5 ten but i like my gear inside my inner and and even the Xmid needs some size real estate to get an optimum pitch although i would only ever use them in calmer months and that Trail Star looked like a Boss in high winds. I am still very tempted by the Chinook.but thanks for reaffirming the size of the TrailStar because you have saved me splashing out the best part of 5 ton ( I can now afford to buy you a cup of T :) I am guessing that theres some uber lightweight DCF coming over the pond from Zpacks or one of the other Cottage industry brands ;) Can you confirm if your Chinook is the 1 person or the 1.5
Another cracking video pal, what the rab jacket abit of me that black/green. Sure I saw you in b&q other day..? Looking forward to your take on van build video
That was a corker Andy. Same as others have said.." that tent is bloody solid" Sacrifices are worth it when the Sun puts on a show like that..brilliant mate..👍👍
Excellent that Andy, spectacular skies, with the added bonus of free parking.....hard to find in our National Parks these days. I'd seen you had sold the Voyager but a bit surprised about the Trailstar. I remember you saying to me about about the 'unmentionable ultra-light material' and your OCD so I'll be very interested to see how you take to it with your new tent 😉. Cheers, Chris
Hi Andrew, I've camped at Hard Tarn which I got to from the climbing hut. Is it possible to get to it from Dolly wagon pike? Great video as always. Take care.
Intrigued by talk of your new tent? Have recently acquired a new tent from Tarptent so wondering if you've done similar. 😉 I'll wait and see. Thanks for uploading, Andy. ATB. 🏔👍
I really enjoyed that video. What a cracking adventure. That tent looks fab 👌
Should call that tent, ‘The Limpet’, that’s not going anywhere 😁👍🏼

Cracking camp mate, great views, won't be long now till you will be able to catch more sunrises
Awesome camp Andy, the sunrise was stunning, no matter how many great sunrises/sunsets I see, it'll never cease to amaze me. Fantastic video Andy. Tongue Gill is a nice walk up to Grisedale Tarn then up on to Seat Sandal. That’s the route I took when I camped there.
