@@gingersnapcustoms so could that be the cause of why my turbo would stop spooling while driving but once I get it up to like 2500 rpm’s it kicks back on?
@@sheltonbeeman7721 if you have a 94-00 with vacuum actuated waste gate the control solenoids can go bad and cause symptoms like that. You really need a boost gauge to see how much pressure it’s making VS when it feels to be not making much boost.
@@gingersnapcustoms I have a code for a bad turbo wastegate sensor but I get good vacuum with a vacuum tester and it says I only push 4-5 psi at full throttle
Do you know what the opening size is on the driver side manifold ? I have a 6.2 diesel that I converted to a turbo. Looking at yours, it appears GM may have used a larger opening with the crossover in mind. What size is the crossover ?
The cross over is 2.5”. The 6.2 drivers manifold from what I recall is the same outlet size. But it’s been a long time since I’ve had one side by side.
replaced three of thos on a 4x which is a bitch. And my manifold rusted away ,try drilling them all out.I envey you salt free guys.I put a stainless one in this time.nice truck.
I wish I was in a salt free place. Here in Michigan I keep dealing with rotten parts regularly waiting for a manifold to be too far gone at some point.
Just ordered this cross over , mine has 1 bolt left on each side 🤣 in desperate need to get this in
You’ll have some work ahead then drilling these buggers out lol.
@@gingersnapcustoms lmao my favorite 🤣
Well an exhaust leak in the crossover pipe cause a boost leak
It causes a drive pressure leak causing low boost because the turbo isn’t being driven efficiently by the exhaust gasses.

If you had crossover and the downpipe off at the same time which one would you install first

Awesome video as usual.. I replacing mine next spring. Did you it improve any performance?
No noticeable changes. Just quieter
