Todo got his left hand transfigured and he had to cut it off to not be damaged further and he clapped with mahito's hand and destroyed his remaining arm. Keep in mind idle transfiguration damaged the soul so it can't be healed, (nobara can't be healed as well) regardless even tho todo's career as a jujutsu sorcerer is done, he was a factor in taking down the curse that had the potential to grow to be sukuna/gojo level...heck even beyond that. Mahito truly had unlimited potential bro is only 6/7 months old and was this much of a problem.

He needs this mental turmoil to mature. Stress always promotes progression and maturity but only if you allow it to and not stagnate. This is probably the most beneficial point in his life. Also Mahito is still a child so that's why he was acting like that at the end.

Todo being so incredibly intelligent must be able to see the journey back to boogie woogie in a similar matter as the dude from baki by having a cursed item on top of the cuff. An incredibly difficult find & fit i bet. But we also know he can imbue items with cursed energy as well, we saw it with a hanger & playful cloud. If he cant find a object to match or even worse a toji situation with a coexisting cursed spirit, then couldnt he potentially make an item carry Cursed energy like yuta did with the ring & sword? Cursed energy is the only thing necessary to commit a Binding vow. A Binding Vow can be made between oneself or with another person through a verbal agreement, and once it is made, it cannot be canceled or altered. Todo can take matters into his own hands and clap again, after all he only needs one hand and a energy deposit to switch places. The bloody fake out during mahitos final stand was necessary but he had nothing else to work with in the moment. A Premeditated showdown would end up very differently for this version of Todo, as in he will dance on you with nothing short of his prime.
