Why don't all skid steers operate this way?
I've been an operator for 7 years and every time I get in a skid steer I have to relearn how to use it cause it's the only machine that isn't set up to drive like everything else.

Ive owner 3 cat skid steers over the past 7 years. The b series through to c series are absolute rubbish. Once I’ve hit 3000 hrs with the 226b3 I have now I’ll sell it and go straight to case. The D series are a good machine, still not the top of the quality and efficiency list but the best cat has released so far BUT stupidly they added an extra 100mm to the top of the cab height therefore unabling access through a lot of home garages through roller door access. Another reason I’ll be changing to case

Getting operation with out the door machine is locked up
There is a relay over-ride that plugs into the door sensor wire harness, on (cat) that is zip tied to the flexible conduits behind the or under the seat that will bypass the door safety override so the machine E-brake and hydraulics will operate without the door attached I dont know if that is what you're referring to?
