Many thanks for the RUclips upload Johnny! FYI an acronym is an abbreviation that is pronounced like a word. So unless NWPO stands for No Worries Plebs Obey, it’s not an acronym to say “Newpo” or “NWPO”. USA is an abbreviation and NASA is an acronym.
ZPS is an abbreviation but saying it as “Zips” would be an acronym.
The more you know! 🌈
cool, i didnt think nwpo meant anything significant

Let me remind you of the time, Kuxir said they changed something because his car is different and there was zero evidence of how they did it over night with no patch release. Sometimes a person can be more in touch with ping/latency/and hit boxes to notice the tiniest details that a normie like us wouldn't even notice.
at all: have you played `squash` before? recommendation is out!
m8s loss was insane
The discussions here sometimes, man...
Johnny is roasting the viewers who are watching this because Psyonix literally just.. isn't broadcasting RLCS.. for wanting commentary over RLCS (as there would usually be). Wonder why they'd expect THAT. And then moments later we're acting like there is a mystery as to why people who speak languages/don't come from areas that don't roll their R's.. can't roll their R's. Idk how someone has the mind to analyze high level 1s gameplay, but can't wrap their head around some extremely blatant concepts/ideas. Expert vs. Jack of all trades type of thing? Maybe?
Not salty, I just don't get it.
I also can't stand the team decal/face cam argument. Who cares what a brand wants? They already forced their dumb company name onto the front of existing teams' names. That's more than enough. Its about the players playing the game. The face cam thing is entirely unimportant. That'll just lead to these companies/brands giving popular players on popular teams getting more funding than teams that focus on competing because they'll probably be generating more money from their personalities. These things are SO unimportant. Too unimportant to be factors that get stacked onto these young players when they should be focusing on the game itself.. because that's THE thing all of this hinges on.
What’s your point here I don’t get the second half of your comment
Listen I do hear you because I also miss the official Friday broadcasts, but imagine like you're a barista in a chill cafe that gets a few customers every 15 minutes and all of a sudden all the Starbucks in your area close down and now you have to deal with hundreds of customers every hour who are demanding the coffee they're used to getting at Starbucks. Like that's just not the vibe here and it never was, so it makes sense why people are trying to get the same atmosphere they're used to, but I don't see why johnny or anyone else is obligated to change their whole style of commentary because someone else decided to end the main stream. It's simply not their problem to solve
If you get paid thousands of dollars to play a game, putting on a decal shoudnt be that hard😂
This is not a gotcha, just a thought exercise... There is no esport if there is no money to be made. Even if you're here purely for gameplay, there will be no RLCS if there's no revenue.
Pro players (and amateurs) want to earn a living and, I argue, should be able to. How can a player monetize their mechanical skill and game sense? Most players choose to sign with an org that pays them a salary. How can the org afford to pay players a salary? They HAVE to monetize the players somehow. The primary way this in done in the current ecosystem is to monetize the sale of merch (physical and digital) to fans of the brand. What better way to encourage the sale of in-game skins than to have ALL of the players in the game wear a uniform (read merch that the orgs can sell) just as any professional sports team in any traditional sport (even some esports) does? They could do it in a way where only the fans are seeing the skins with mods and the players are using whatever decal and boost they opt to. Call of Duty League does this exact thing with their players.
Ok, so that's how teams can monetize the sale of their "brand" in order justifying paying these talented young people to play a cartoon car soccer game. What else can orgs do make money - with the goal of having a profitable business model that can acquire talent we consume in the form of broadcasts? The name, image, and likeness (NIL - stealing the NCAA's term that allows college athletes to make money) of the players is something that can be monetized. How can we expect them to monetize a shadow/avatar of a player? This is why facecams are helpful - they allow us to see a person and grow to like the personality behind the gameplay. Like it or not, this is important. It also is GOOD for the players in the long run. The players that build themselves a personal brand experience the most success after they're done twiddling their thumbs professionally (Squishy is the obvious example). Because he took the time to build a brand for himself (+ Cloud9 and NRG along the way), he now is set for life. He has amassed a following that allows him to continue doing what he loves. He doesn't have to go take a "traditional" job because he monetized his NIL.
There's a piece in this stream where I heard Sizz saying "I'm unemployed and have been looking for a job for the last 2 years". A former pro player, who did monetize his NIL is now making jokes about his ability to earn a living. I hope Sizz is doing just fine with his past earnings and the money he generated from content over the years but I don't know what's going on with him. I used to watch every video he and Rizzo posted back in the day and really like his personality.
I want all of these guys to benefit off their talent - they deserve it - but there HAS to be a product that can be sold by players, brands, and the league in order for any of this to exist.
No one reading all this dawg
