Ethan's story shows the power of bravery and respect. Despite the initial ridicule, his courage to share his father's military achievements opened his classmates' eyes to the true meaning of heroism. It's a reminder that sometimes, standing up for what we value can change others’ perspectives.
I have 2 medals from the first world war, they were my great grandfather's medals. I am so proud of him, he died in 1968 when I was a baby girl at 1 year old.
This veteran day I will be at one of our local elementary schools for their veterans day program. If you get a chance go to a local school thoes kids put on one hell of a Program as A veteran it makes you get a warm feeling all over your body
Thank you for your service to keep us free and safe. I do understand that the veterans went through over sea. I have Veterans in my family as well. I very Proud of them. Lot of them are gone now. I grew up working on a farm and ranch the owner was a veteran US airforce. I was very proud of him.
My oldest daughter was at least 27 when she finally listened to some of my stories about my time in Vietnam. I had not been reticent about telling our children, she simply always had her head in a book. When I told her one on one so she listened there was a look of horror on her face. Yesterday after an automobile accident I was talking to the police about adrenaline and told a couple stories and the officer said that he wasn’t up to the duties I had been involved in.
Utter nonsense. Children in the UK would never ridicule a classmate for bringing in his father's medals. The teacher was not in control of the class anyway, and she should have set a more serious tone for the event.
I, as a USAF Vet, (Sgt, 30450, 1970-76,) noticed that, too. And the description of Purple Heart, Bronze Star, etc, also don't match the picture. My conclusion, FAKE pic, FAKE story!
I m Xers & Latino who is history junkie.Very appreciate all our nation Veterans for their services may God bless them all.

The teacher did not handle this at all .....should have been able to immediately stop harassment and guide Ethan into presenting info
The Purple-Heart ribbon I have is purple and white, not purple and gold. This is a beautiful story.
