    Thanks for showing how to do this! I don't think I would have had a clue how to install the hardware. I also never would have thought of painting the back...it makes it much more finished and polished-looking. I would have just thought: well, it's the back, it's going to be messy but only the person hanging it will see the back. Of course, if you display it in a holder rather than on the wall, the back most certainly will be seen. Using the feet is also a good idea. I was thinking some felt squares would work, but the feet really hold it further from the wall and keep the hardware from being a problem. It could also be displayed flat on a table since you have those feet. And, lastly, this video is a lesson to all of us newbies out here to ALWAYS TAPE THE BACK, so we don't have such a challenge getting the drips & puddles off of the back. As far as signing the back I have 2 suggestions. 1) Try using a permanent alcohol-based marker to sign it. If that doesn't work, try the next idea, 2) You could always put a second signature plaque on the back...100 years from now collectors will find this "mistake" to make the piece more valuable than the ones that only have 1 plaque.

      My pleasure Catherine! I really like the way the paint moves on the tiles. And with the resin and finished back, they have a very high end feel to them.

    just a lil FYI the adhesive on the tape will eventually eat away the ink from your printer and your pen and or marker you sign with and all that info and signature will be gone.. :'( i would maybe laminate the signature plates to ensure your signature and information always remained. The tile is BEAUTIFUL!!

    Jellyfish looked amazing! Yes years late but I barely found this video😁..
    Have you tried doing portraits in neon paint and slapping a black light around it?.
    First thing I thought about when I saw that jellyfish picture.
    Also what style of gorilla glue did you use?

    Thank you for that tutorial. It was very helpful and makes your pieces look very professional. Can I ask what resin you used for your jellyfish tile? I don’t see a single bubble or imperfection. I have such a hard time getting my resin to look that good!

    I think there are stronger glues than Gorilla Glue (actually 2 part epoxy) JB Weld is the winner in tests
    (I have large tiles so JB is what I used)

    Thanks for your reply. I am just wondering if all the tiles you use are white ceramic? Thank you. Jill

    • @VoxxArts
      @VoxxArts  6 лет назад

      Jill Roy not all of them, no. The only thing I make sure is that the tile doesn't have any texture. But I will use any color/style tile as long as it has a smooth finish.

    Q: Do you think using 3-4 saw-tooth hangers on the faux wood ceramic tile planks would hold up for hanging since they are so heavy?

  • @stirer1

    Could you use the resin to glue the hooks on ?

  • @kbromelldesign

    Hello, have you ever used epoxy, like locit to attach the hangers?

    • @VoxxArts
      @VoxxArts  5 лет назад

      I haven’t tried epoxy for this. But I have used epoxy in other projects. i chose gorilla glue for this because it expands and adheres to the porous surface on the back of the tile very well.
