Got an 04 with 4wd and by. Not very flashy but does great in the snow. It's at almost 150000 miles on it, and I just drove it on vacation to the Smoky Mountains and back. Starts up everytime.
@@automotivetv9861 Disagree. Maybe with the 4-speed auto, but it's relatively quick with the 5-speed manual. Only problem is the weak-ish low end torque.
@@01Elantraaa That's true. Mine never had any problems up until I sold it at 285 000km. It was one of the smoothest running 4-cylinders I've heard. And to my knowledge, my old Sportage is still on the road with about 320 000km on it.
I like this model of generation that went from 2005-2010 I own a black 2007 Kia Sportage with the EX V6 has everything but the heated seats which sucks but its got a sunroof and leather seats and a leather rapped steering wheel. has 146k miles
I also have a black 2007 Kia Sportage, but mine has heated leather seats! Mine has 150,000 miles and has been very reliable for me! In terms of reliability, I think this gen is the best! My girlfriend and I took it on our Valentines Day date 2 months ago, and despite it being dark outside and intense thick fog, It never let us down that night, and her and I literally live 30 min. from each other!
You should have got the 6 cylinder because they are much more reliable and eve better on gas than the 4 cylinders. Mine just turned over 300k miles and i have never had a single problem it's a 2006 Kia Sportage V6 Limited with leather seats and sunroof.
I’ve had an 07 I totaled in the pass due to a bad bead on my tire it saved me with its stability controls I got another but it’s an 09 same generation I’ve put 20k on the 95k that’s on it loves them to death I plan on up keeping it too 300k plus

We have 2006 sportage with 2.0 petrol engine. It has 142 hv and Its enough. It has got 270 000 km on it. It also has been very reliable.
I have the same car, it's dangerously slow from a dead stop.
Those beta 2 engines the 2.0 are the most reliable engines hyundai and kia have EVER made

Makes a GREAT first car for new drivers, having learned to drive in my 2007 Kia Sportage!
My grandmothers car is a 2006 portage it is still running to this day
Funny that the seltos is exactly the same length and wheelbase as this.

@@jennatyler8144 never changed a sensor or the exhaust system? Starter or alternator?
Should you have the ESP system on or off most of the time?

If it’s a v6 don’t forget to change the timing belt!
Same thing goes for the 2.0 I-4 engine.
I prefer the old-school Kia Sportage.
