Going back to this game from Strive is pain. I used to play Rev2 casually (it was unplayable online to me), and Strive is my frist experience fighting people online. Rev2 online is absolutely oppressive and overwelming, to the point that I decided not to play it. Call me a nood but I don't have time to train and study the game, I just sit down and play. I can do that in Strive and still hit celestial but I'm pretty sure I will never be win any matches at all in Rev2 if I don't train. Game is great but it simply isn't for me. I imagine most adult people are like this (too busy or stressed to play difficult competitive games) so the direction ArcSys took with Strive makes sense to me.
Eh, if you come into a fighting game with low population at the end of it's life cycle, of course the population would be full of sharks. I know the game is more complex than Strive, but as I said above, that isn't the reason why your getting smoked online. Now that Xrd has rollback(in beta for now), there has been an influx of new players who have either tipped their toes in the game before leaving for Strive(like you), or who are playing it for the first time. Hence you should have a better experience now than ever when playing online. Same thing happened to BBCF, it now has new players coming and going , and it doeshave only sharks online like it did before, from my experience. Trust me, xrd is a very fun game, of course you don't have to like it, but don't make your fear of playing with sharks online be the only reason to not play it more seriously.

I mean don't go into a game thinking you are going to win. Just have fun and learn. There's ton of people that learn but just playing and never labbing. Just go in an enjoy it. That's what I do and I lose pretty much every game but it is a good time for sure.
