I have 3 of the 9019s, and love them! I’d be fine getting a 9016, but I already have a batch of 992s in , which may or may not be smaller/skinnier than the 9013, so not really interested in those. I like the larger converters!
Nice comparison Gary. It makes a difference to see all 3 pens side by side. I have a 9019 & 9016, but have passed on the 9013. Both the 9016 & 9019 are nice writing pens, but I think my 9019 is just a shade smoother. Something new for me. I had tried installing a Zebra G nib in a Jinhao X450, but it was not successful. Then tonight, knowing that the nib needed to be further shaped to fit the #6 size feed, I used pliers to press the nib against the shaft of a 6.5 mm drill bit. This time it worked perfectly and the nib is close enough to the feed for capillary action to occur and provides ink flow to the tip. It has been a fun exercise.
I received my 9019 a few hours ago. Glad Jinhao offers a medium nib. It was smooth and appropriately wet upon arrival. I don’t have the other two but I do have the X159. Maybe a shoot out in the future between the 9019 and X159. Diamine Ocre was a nice surprise, I can see a sample in my future. Thanks for the video.
I do like all 3 pens. You need to post the 9013, but the cap is so light, it really doesn't affect the balance of the pen significantly. I have the red sparkle version. I do wish that they made a shorter version of the enlarged converter. I was disappointed that a standard converter was supplied. So, I added glue to the end of the barrel and I made it an eyedropper fill pen. It works wonderfully. Given the price point, why not experiment. The Heartbeat nibs to me seem wetter than standard Jinhao nibs which may account for the different sound the nib makes when writing. As for size the 9016 is perhaps the most comfortable in my hand. I have medium size hands. The 0019 is a bit chunky but I use the pen all the same. I have the X159 which I think is approximately the same dimensions and use that as well. I wonder if it is the same width as the Wing Sung 630. Great comparison, Garry. All three are exceptional pen, especially for the price.
I have two 9019's and one 9016 and I prefer the 9019. I never did order a 9013. I guess I felt like I had enough of this particular model. But they are great pens, for the price. I even got my non fountain pen using daughter interested in them. Every time I see you write with Apple Glory, or Appletini, I tell myself that I've got to get some of that glorious ink.
@@teresaharris-travelbybooks5564 I’ve given up trying to get my son into fountain pens. Those inks are lovely bright green. I’ve just added a future video idea to compare them.
I have both 9019 and 9016. Absolutely love the #8 nib on 9019, but it is a little girthy for me ngl. The 9016 is good size but I somehow the nibs on both my 9016-es have a little baby's bottom issue which I haven't gotten around fixing yet. Still, amazing value pens, though.

@@zeus52452 thanks for these tips. I’ve not really bothered too much with flex nibs, I’ll eventually try them.

@@Rgc571 Ochre is a nice ink. On the right paper and nib it has some lovely shading.

@@zoznammic I do find Jinhao nibs tend to need a bit of work on them before they are exactly as I like them.
Well done sir…nice review

Have you seen the new Jinhao 10 retractable pen yet
Not yet, but I have it on my list for next time I order from AliExpress
