A friend of mine built a Quick Build RV6. It was the 53rd kit and finished in 98. Great flying airplane. I always wanted to build an RV8 but engine prices have risen more than my income! Enjoy yours!
I love this video! I know people talk about buying kits, and building aircraft. But this is interesting, because it shows why you brought the kit that you bought, and what the actual airplane is like. Thank you for this helpful video. By the way, I found your channel on the aviation, content creators page. Keep doing what you’re doing. Fly well! New sub!
I can tell that your have found your path, I can feel it in the way you talk and on all the plans for the future. This is a gorgeous airplane and it will allow you to do what you always wanted to do without restrictions. What is coming is exciting and we are happy to be able to share it with you.
Oh no worries there, its complete separate from this plane. I usually have a "flyer" and a "project" at any given time. The chinook is the project, the RV is the flyer.
Congratulations! I've flown a friend's RV-6 and it was a blast. Like you, he bought it already built and has personalized it, too. Waiting on an engine and prop overhaul to be completed now( Cylinders are almost unobtainable , like everything else now ) Enjoy, and please share ALL the content!
Every time I see an RV on here it reminds me of the kit I have sitting in boxes in my basement right now, looking forward to finally getting a new shop to get my 4 aircrafts built lol.
I always look forward to seeing what your are up to - we all have varying interests (different flying "missions"), and its nice to see your improvements and custom ways of doing things! Keep 'em comin'!! :)
@@ianslife210 That's great news. Nice to see the new panel and to hear that you're out enjoying it. I often get entrenched in modifying hobby purchases, to the point of diminishing returns, instead of just enjoying them for what they are🤔🤔🤔🙄🙄🙄😆😆😉
The chinook is still coming for the low and slow stuff! Going to have to solve the problem of living in the wrong spot to really enjoy it still though!
Keep I mind he does tons of other stuff, especially in the Yamaha conversion world. His video are months behind where he actually is if I understand correctly.
Is RockHopper still in the works. I was following your wing modifications and am very curious about results. I am working on a Kitfox 2 that I was considering the newer airfoil. I also have half complete RV-8 that I inherited that I will complete some day. Thanks for you informative vids!
We bought it at about 700hrs. We got a good deal on it, well under market, but we took a chance on the condition of the engine given its long sit. Fortunately that gamble seems to have paid off as the oil analysis has come back good.
Don’t ground it this time with your fiddles and mods like you do every other plane you get. Plus finish the other one coz I keep investing in your builds and the next minute I know it’s flipped for something else. 🙁 God, I spoke too soon. Just got my coffee and continued the vid to hear your plans. 🤦♂️ Just fly the bloody thing and continue with the Chinook or have you off loaded it?
This one won’t be down for any significant period of time. Think more along the lines of our Rans s6 which was pretty active for its entire time with us than the chinook (which has been FAR bigger a project than anticipated).
The other projects are still ongoing. We sold the Rans and replaced it with this. There’s another episode of the chinook build coming up in a couple of weeks.

Welcome to the world of vans aircraft. I loved my -6. Sold it last year and bought a harmon rocket. I still miss it at times.
Maybe one of these days a rocket will be in my future, who knows!
Don't forget the Chinook!

Yes please. More RV content with IFR trips. Maybe some Trigger Gap mixed in.

Thanks! Lots more to come with all of my planes and projects
Beautiful bird, you have to be proud! I’m hoping someday to get a ride, oddly, I’ve never had a chance to get that famous RV-grin!
Since the day I saw a RV-4 for the first time as a little kid I've wanted one so more than proud, I'm fulfilling a childhood dream to own one!
It will be fun to watch the upgrades on this one.
Nice. Like the paint to.
The paint is one of the reasons we went for this one.
That top view from plane to plane is killer. Makes it look like a swept back wing !
Beautiful aeroplane that, stunning!!
Thanks! I’m really enjoying it.

Hahaha you are taking a similar path as me, I started on a Rans Coyote and now I own an RV12
Congrats on the "6", she is a beauty! Please don't forget us low and slow dudes.

Good Stuff Ian!
Thanks!
Sweet little airplane Ian!
Thanks!
Very exciting. Good choice!
Thanks! I certainly think so!
Keep em coming!
Sweet new plane!
Thanks!
Nice! Looking forward to the tech videos.
Thanks! We have some work to do over the winter on it to start out the little tweaks and upgrades.
i was like damn a "redbull race plane".LOL
Maybe someday!
Holy Smokes.. The Profile Brotherhood! I'm like ProBro 56.. LOL
I don’t know what my number is but I posted as iBang for years.
whats happening with the chinook bush plane?? did this plane take its place?
The chinook is still coming along. I put out a video on it a few weeks ago. We’re hoping to have it ready for flight in the upcoming months.

love my RV... any reason you are flying from the right seat?? nvm lol guess i should wait to the end to comment :)
I’m a weird one that way and I finally have the plane to match!
Nice choice 👌
I agree!
how much did it cost
wish you had left the music OFF, it is horribly distracting.
Sweet.
I know you wont tail touchnbut how about a hover at whatever altitude you choose. LOL
Going to need a LOT more engine!
Approximately what were the engine times and what did approximately cost in this new RV market

Like the video but the music almost ruined
Now this makes more sense than that pice of shit wannabe bush plane. I built a RV-3 15yrs ago. Vans has there shit right

do you ever finish any projects? unsubscribe.
