Presenza scenica e bravo attore. Che più? Aveva tutto. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful.
The pinnacle of what OPERA STARS (splendid and classy ones I mean) used to be. Not the dull, robot-like, manufactured crap we are sometimes served today. Unmatched.
Great franco corelli i would die for him...what a strong georgeus voice and what a good looking man.i addore him...❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️rip my great idol and friend...one day we will sang together on haven..
+John Schofield Tebaldi..un angelo Corelli..incredibile...grande scuola....Oggi Villazon..Alagna..Kaufmann...cosa li accomuna..A me piace tanto agli inizi carriera Alagna in Traviata Boheme...
Corelli...Tebaldi...in one of the great finales.....it doesn't get any better.....both were at their prime.... they are missed by their many many admirers. RIP and thanks so much to two of the "great ones".
There is an interview with Pavarotti where he speaks about Corelli as being a God like freak. No one ever had such a big easy top like that. His ability to spin softly should never be overlooked.
The brilliance and size of Corelli's voice simply cannot be conveyed by electronic reproduction...I saw Dorothy Kirsten sing a superb Tosca in the very late'60s and backstage she was impossibly regal and beautiful to look at..
When gods and goddesses walked the earth. Incredible…and a sad reminder of how far standards have fallen. Thankfully we have these magnificent recordings and films, at least.
My God! I cry every time when I listen to him and see him. He is like an ancient classical god!
Its great but the version with del monaco and tebaldi is even better, either way both are great a style of singing long dead unfortunately, only pretenders like kaufman now a days
Michael Miller: But are you a fan of Tebaldi now?? Please don’t let the fact that Corelli was handsome influence you, that isn’t fair to other tenors like Tucker.
Bob the Builder: Sutherland and Horne sang the NORMA duets on the Ed Sullivan show in 1970 when performing the opera at the Met. Guess the video poster couldn’t get the tape. But I agree that Angela and Bea were superb and made up for the film disaster.
This appears to have been on the Ed Sullivan television program. Doubt it would draw viewers now. He always featured opera and Broadway performers. on his variety show. Wonder how many people would recognize that she is wearing "opera length" gloves??? Or that anyone even owns a pair now..
Whenever I see Franco my heart breaks. That beautiful man, truly someone who had it all, yet an unhappy life with a wife who kept him a prosoner and belittled him. But something was there, since they stuck it out. Tebaldi is not a flat as usual here, but I like her less all the time.
I am always amused when fans express intimate knowledge of a relationship How do you know what really went on? and how necessary she was for his success. How do you know how happy or unhappy his private life was? He must have been, to put it mildy a difficult person to live with. I know without her there wouldn't have been a career-oh, he was hardly kept a prisoner.
@@labienus9968 i only mention what I witnessed.I consider having my means to leave (money) kept from me being kept prisoner. The desired result was to keep him dependant. Its their private business, except Loretta made it everyones business.
@@jefolson6989 You'll have to do better than that. What did you witness? What is this prisoner thing? They were both volatile personalities-marriages are full of mysteries. But you ignore the real point-she needed him-they never divorced-aren't you glad that whatever it was, look what came from it.
BOB THE BUILDER: It was fourth act duet where the soprano has bribed the guard to let her take the place of another female prisoner so that she and the tenor can die together.

The way he hold those huge high notes, it seems like he could hold them forever.
What more could I want? Corelli all to myself!
Please share him!
Eccezionali. Fra 10000 anni questi saranno ancora ammirati

Una voz sin igual. Esto lo puedo ver mil veces
Thank for posting. I had forgotten how beautiful Tebaldi really was. When paired with Corelli their duets became celestial.

Just loving this, thank you!
This must be 66-68. By 1970 Corelli's mannerism had begun to take over. This is prime Corelli
Superbo duetto finale dell'Andrea Chenier.!!! Quando riappariranno queste voci?
Corelli was wonderful. I’ve never been a fan of Tebaldi.
Michael Miller: But are you a fan of Tebaldi now?? Please don’t let the fact that Corelli was handsome influence you, that isn’t fair to other tenors like Tucker.

The only soprano that was equal to Corelli was the great Tebaldi
Bravo!!!!
Thank you so much posting this video. It made my year for 2013.
Lovely.
Si existe algo perfecto ,es eso

Priceless !!
Those who run around out there who call themselves opera singers, don't have a clue. These people had immortal voices.
absolutely right
BJORLING and BIDU SAYAO in the ROMEO & JULIET DUET. The BOHEME DUET HERE
has BEEN TRANSPOSED to a LOWER KEY.

Surprise Paul McCartney at the end
Hold me instead!
Parsifal3142: I’ll let you grip yourself vigorously several times instead.
O último TITÃ.
What was that solo aria Franco sang?
"Tu lo sai", by Giovanni Berrafato, a romantic song.
Lyrico Spinto voives. Nothing better

Stuart Lou sorry about my ignorance but what was the first duet with Tebaldi ? thanks
@Bravo Luca Thanks for that...I probably should have known that but it's been some time since I last heard that opera .
BOB THE BUILDER: It was fourth act duet where the soprano has bribed the guard to let her take the place of another female prisoner so that she and the tenor can die together.
BOB THE BUILDER: ANDREA CHENIER by Giordano.
¡Y esa Boheme!!!!
the russian should watch this and retire
Walter Harper: What Russian? Putin? Kaufman is German. Netrebko’s husband? I don’t know his nationality but some don’t think he’s a Singer!!
STARS!
