My name is Helene. You are one of the best and most intuitive and intelligent reactors I have come across, Syed. I am VERY excited that I’ve discovered a new reviewer at your level and the fact that you are doing music and bands that I love…….oh boy, I hope we have a long journey together. Zep, Floyd, Tool, Sabbath, Yes, Metallica, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, and dozens more…..so much wonderful music you have to look forward to!

One of his cool older cousins/etc who was in a band swung by (she assumed it was like, a local bar band) and helped her with her french homework a bit. She had zero clue who it was... but recognized Maynard's voice as the french helper cousin. Apparently that's just his voice. And yeah, I was pissed I skipped the shot to meet the guy.

I’ve watched a lot of people on RUclips enter the Toolshed for the first time (it’s kinda my favorite thing to see on RUclips), but you are the first I’ve ever watched that began the adventure with this song. It’s an interesting way in, but all paths through the spiral are valid. May your journey take you to new planes of existence, and may your pneuma reach heights you never thought possible. Godspeed, sir.
And as a side note, while the Tool trip is never about the individual, I just want to take a moment to say how much your insights are appreciated. You have a knack for finding a middle ground between the technical aspects of the music, the multiple interpretations of the lyrics, and (perhaps what a good majority of reactors miss at first) understanding the pure emotional impact of the Tool sound that their art strives to pull out of the listener. I listened to your other two Tool reactions before this one (I started with your 46&2 reaction), and all three are some of the best I’ve seen on RUclips. So, count me as a new subscriber! I hope your Tool journey continues. You’ve got a long way to go, but the Tool army is here to help guide you. So relax, turn around, take our hand. Spiral out.

No Quarter like many Zeppelin songs is loosely inspired by Lord of the Rings
Plant"s No Quarter is the Vibe of the Riders of Rohan as the prepare to charge into Suaron's armies of the East outside of Gondor
Maynard's No Quarter more has the vibe of Sam Gamgee as he carries a near dead Frodo Baggins through Mordor and up the slope of Mt Doom

21:30 "Perhaps some connection was formed". A first time listen to Tool, and you are already talking about connections being formed, you basically identified the essence of Tool here just by listening to their cover of Led Zeppelin lol

This wouldn't exist without the original but it is TOOL'S song now. 🤷‍♂️ More TOOL 🔧 You will not be disappointed. Greatest band ever! They do not have a bad song.
EDIT: there is now doubt TOOL put their flavor on this. Do more. You will understand.
Love your interpretation and reaction. You MUST do the entire TOOL journey! TOOL Army will come. You won't be disappointed. Great video! I would suggest doing Pushit from the Aenima album. Then follow it with Pushit from Salival Live. They completely remade their own song. Both versions are great.
PS...don't forget this was recorded on the Salival LIVE album. 🤣

I have listened to Led Zeppelins version of this song a number of times, trying to get what people talking about when they say the original is better, I keep coming away disappointed, the Tool version is so powerful, maybe that's where the issue lays.

20:10 - Phrygian Major scale… Arabic/Eastern origin. You can hear Maynard vocally illustrate the same phrasing here: 5:54. It is great as a counterpoint to music with haunting dissonance.

Yeah! I'm stoked you're getting into Tool. Heavy metal? Prog Rock? They are genre bending. Check out "Sober". IMO, Maynard James Keenen is the most original vocalist/lead man out there today.

Long time fan of TOOL here. Maynard is an amazing artist and he has ingenious musicians behind him. Each one of TOOL's albums has it's own feel or vibe. Maynard also leads other bands aswell (A Perfect Circle and Pusifer) that have their own feel too . I think he didn't want to get stuck in one "sound" if you know what I mean.

The cover is better than the original, and I mean that with NO disrespect to LZ. I like to think if Zep had the tools at their disposal when TOOL did the cover, they would've done it damn near close to the cover. Imho 🤘💙
