      @@AnnLippert1 oh I don't post really I just read...I'm glad you can delete them. I didn't know that was possible. I've bowled most of my life and getting back into it now. I sure would love to be that consistent or even able to bowl in my older years...which I'm getting close to now. I sure feel the pain at times. Kudos to all he is able to do still!

      Fun Fact: Two handers can bowl one handed, it's just not their preferred way to bowl. Plus, two handed is one handed in reality.

    Great story. I bowl in a senior league. I used to average 215 and have shot 300/298/289/289 and some tournament stuff in the 2000's. Am 67 years old. This gentleman at 90 still has great form and follow-through. Thats rare. I had a hip replacement and inguinal hernia repair and was out 2-3 years. I am back and up near 200 average. BUT the best part are the people I bowl with. OLD PEOPLE I am bowling with OLD PEOPLE. Then I think about it and I am now one of those old people. Its a blast! Been bowling off and on since 1968. Its a great way to keep going strong.

    After seeing some of the scores I've been seeing of late what does a sanction prove?

    • @williamhrivnak7345
      @williamhrivnak7345 Год назад +4

      A sanctioned event like a league or tournament means that the 300 would go in the USBC records because there is guaranteed to be witnesses to verify that it happened and the player didn’t cheat. Non-sanctioned 300’s by USBC policy don’t get recorded because there aren’t the systems in place to prove its legitimate. Unfortunately for him, his 300 won’t officially exist, but its still very impressive and I’m glad he could pull it off

    • @terryferguson7608
      @terryferguson7608 Год назад

      @@williamhrivnak7345 I bowled under ABC jurisdiction for over 20 years back when honor scores were harder to come by because the lane conditions were more difficult and the ball technology wasn't there. Back then if you rolled an honor score you got a ring. Now it's one and done no matter how many you roll because I doubt that the sanctioning body could afford the hardware. While I congratulate today's bowlers for their consistency the rewards on the lanes are getting out of hand.

      It's 60-100 times easier to bowl a 300 than it was in the late 1960s.

    • @louiscsanko3673
      @louiscsanko3673 Год назад +4

      I bowled a ( non- Sanctioned 300) during pot games at a Bowling center in the Bronx, NYC back in 1998. Although it was not sanctioned, a buddy of mine was keeping score, and gave me the Scoresheet after we ended the pot games. I still cherish those 12 Strikes, because I know I did it. I would have preferred it be sanctioned. The center had Real Wood alleys and no computerized scoring!! Number [2] Pencil and a Large Sheet of Genuine Paper.lol.😅😅🤣🤣

    • @louiscsanko3673
      @louiscsanko3673 Год назад +3

      @@ripvanrevs It was harder in the 50's & 60's but not 100×'s harder!!! Ball technology, better oil, and better Lanes do factor in to higher scoring. One thing we must remember is that whether scoring becomes easier or harder, every bowler still has to come through in the clutch!!! The highest score wins, and whether 164 wins or 299 wins, it is still a [ W ]

    • @Polarcupcheck
      @Polarcupcheck Год назад

      @@AnnLippert1 He probably does have some genetic advantages. I was wondering how close he eats to the blue zones around the world. Blue berries and cereal is very similar to the trends you see in those locations. What about tea, coffee, chocolate, cinnamon, eggs, vitamin supplements, vegetable intake and beans?
      I personally like to review research for nutrition and aging, and he looks about 10 years younger than anyone else I ever saw that was 90. He looks like he could be anywhere from late 50's to early 70's. I am going to see if what research show any effect from blueberry polyphenols and cereal grain fiber on gut bacteria and short chain fatty acid production.
