Great video Rach. I’ve just got myself a Mk 8 Fiesta, albeit a boring Diesel, but it’s great. I had a Mk 7 previously but the Mk 8 is such a massive step up in the way it drives & handles.
This video has thrown my off cause I thought that slicks have a greater contact patch so a set of worn tyres should in theory have more grip but don't know anymore.
Such a pity that 2nd runs out to 57mph.. If it was just geared a little bit more say to 62mph (100kph for us Aussies) then the 0-60 would get under the 6secs. Nothing wrong with the Michelin PS4's. got them myself in 235/40 18's. They are pretty good in the rain as well, not that we have had any rain since Nov last year
I’ve been watching your videos for a while now. Newly subscribed that last month or so. I have to say I like to see your older style of videos where you was more hands on and doing things that (sorry) you don’t normally see girls doing, that content is so much better

Most of the gain is down to the rubber being fresh and soft. Over time the rubbers stiffens and you lose grip. That and it might be possible that the compound is different accross the thread if you know what I'm saying. It could be a bit harder
Fantastic video Rachael 👏 I remember back in the day I spelt all my money on the engine.!!!! Quick but shit! Older and more experienced. My Next car I upgraded the brakes and tyres and suspension. I loved that car more. !! Keep up the good work matey 👏 love from Manchester. 🤣🤣
more tread does not mean more grip you will have. now if you was at some where like brands hatch silverstone santapod then do the same test worn new and slick tyres. you will see the difference even very low tread like 0.5mm on a treaded tyre will act like a slick tyre. even tyre pressure can make a big change.
@@RachaelBuckley even on un prepped surfaces contact patch of the tyre is what you need. to gain the most traction. been involved with motorsport long enough to know that more tread does not always give you the most traction.
the way those old tyres were worn, it looks like your alignment is out a bit, ideally the tread should wear evenly across the full tread, worth a checkover. [your car goes faster with correct geometry] lewis hamilton dosen't have any tread on his tyres for his fastest times..... but sometimes theory + practice just don't work out, too many variables at play on your test, but interesting vid nevertheless
Not just the tyres also the condition on the day could change thing,I'm sure a cooler day you would get faster times as well,we know cold air is much better than hot air, plus ground temp will also make a difference too
launch control is a rip off! I'm glad my Mustang didn't come with it, although its a base convertible with a 3.7L V6. It was dynoed at 269HP at the rear wheels
I think that you was getting better times because of multiple runs. The tyres were getting warmer which provided you more grip and better times :) I do not think that you was getting better times because of different launch methods.
when doing launch control starts the needle on the rev counter isnt supposed to keep going up and down its supposed to stay solid and id say you might be better trying at higher revs like 4 thousand launch harder

Tyres make an absolute massive difference, I was running standard spec continentals on my mk2 focus rs then changed to ps4s' and the difference is like night and day in a good way
I think you’d probably get under 6 if you didn’t have the roll cage. It would be a bit drastic to take the passenger seat out, but that might do it too 😂

Did you stick the the OEM Sizing? I believe you can even go up to 235 because the wheels are 7.5" wide. Not that the tyre width makes that much of a difference but it does help. Compound is way more important so glad you went with the Michelin PS4S. Nice video 😉

Thank you! I think I could rock a go pro on my head🤣
Rachel's absolute looks of disgust at the first 0/60 in race mode 🤣, good time though nice and consistent with little slip 💪
That's one of the nicest ST's I've seen. Love it

Hi :) what app are you using? I want to have a blast in my m135i
good video, but revo stage 2 brings the revs up to 7k allowing for 2nd gear at 60mph
what app/ equipment did you use to get the results as I would like to see if my 0-60 time has improved.
I used a dragy which connects to the app and records using satellite

Isn’t this video topic like saying if you put petrol or diesel if it takes it in your will the engine will start?
Love the vids, would you recommend 225 as an alternative to the 205?
Thank you! & can’t really say as I’ve never had 225s sorry!😅
Did you replace them like for like or use a different make of tyre
