Really great car, you can tell from the speeds Misha is carrying in the corner. Seems like one of the last real hot hatches that beefs upwards of its pretended class.
Had the opportunity to drive one, the steering is mega and you get quite a sense of joy in driving it.
Props to the owner for having Misha lap it !
As a Mk8 Fiesta ST owner myself, it's awesome to see you get your hands on one round the Ring!
Seeing you drive it round makes me want to bring mine over from the UK and give mine a go even more!
The handling is by far its strong point, it makes you realise you don't need tonnes of power to really have fun and enjoyment on a track with such an array of corners.
Me too! I daily my mk 8 ST and it genuinely is the best car I've owned. It's punchy and the handling is epic... Enjoys being on 3 wheels in a hairpin or roundabout!

100% mate me too. I had an Audi S3 before and I felt like all I needed was power, went stage 2 400bhp, now 200 less with the Fiesta ST and it is just incredible how fast it feels. Also manual way more fun

I tell you what this is one of the must fun looking cars I’ve seen in a long time. Looks like barrels of fun, confidence inspiring, and the 3 cylinder sound is just addictive!

I love this chassis so much... I have an E46 325Ci and also a Fiesta mk8 non ST , with 1.0 Ecoboost 140hp with ST Line Package and I was impressed by the car overall performance wise, very very good chassis.
The Figo has the chassis of the older fiesta and even that is great. I drive one and it make be under powered but round corners it’s great. Love my little bite sized hatch

I had fiesta st mk8 for 16 months. Great handling car with good engine. 1.5 3 cylinder but form mid 2019 onwards the engine has 6.1 liters of oil. It's like 3.0 inline 6 let say bmw b58 had 12 liters of oil. Remapping of the car will get additional 40hp. Stage 2 up to 270hp.

Love your videos man! I own an ST myself exact same model and it's a shame that the owner never told you that these cars come with "flat foot shifting" from factory.. Would've been even more fun :D but still a nice video with an amazing car

Tyre pressures were a bit off.. 2bar cold on front is too much for Cup2 on Fiesta ST, and usually the rears should be set to a higher pressure, as they don’t get as hot.
that's what ford recommends, higher in front and lower in the rear. that's just for normal use ofcourse

I live in the Rockies, and my MK7 is one of the most fun cars I've ever driven. It handles so good in the twisties for a FWD that it kind of boggles the mind. All the power is available and useable on your everyday drives, so even going to the grocery store still puts a big smile on my face. I was so bummed when we didn't the MK8 on this side of the pond. One of the last hot hatches to not have a bunch of electronics interfering with your driving.
Makes me want a Focus ST even more now! Nice drive

Now moved to this ST with 230hp and im loving it.

I've been looking at one of these as a replacement for my M140i as I just need a bit of a second car for a bit of fun.
Wish we got the mark 8 fist as well as the states getting the puma Those look really cool lowered and quite capable
Would be nice to know if brakes were stock, because the stock Fiesta brakes are usually a problem at track use.
You should try the MK4 Focus ST the next, def another level
New platform of Ford are very good! All the ford's have great platform for turns. We have a mondeo mk3 and it drives great in road. For normal use is above a lot of cars

Hi Misha, I edit a lot and have learned to always have three backups of your footage - one local, one at a different location and one wherever you feel is another safe place. I have mine on my computer, one backup in a steel cabinet in a different room and one at a friend. Sorry for the lost footage, it happens to the best of us
I have by now close to 200 Tb of footage. With every day getting 10-200 Gb of footage extra. I don't think your solution would work for me.

I love the Fiesta ST
So i am trying to figure out the best tyre pressure for track. 36psi seems a lot considering it’s summer and a have seen the front pressure going up to 40 psi.
I sat in one of these a few weeks ago when I was shopping for my next car and I couldn't get past the seat area under my legs. Felt really cramped and like too aggressive bolstering where the previous generation actually feels better in that sense. Didn't take it on a test drive but maybe should have

He's got cup 2's on this which in the i20N they took one full lap to warm up, you mention tyres and pressures this ST is running 215/45 R17 , standard issue is 205/40 R18
I wonder how much correct pressure and 17 vs 18's would make to the lap?

Misha, how would you compare this Fiesta to the recent black Abarth Punto Evo?
The funny part is, that is still has this terrible windy noise coming from the doors when you hit about 200-210 km/h. (At 4:10 min)
I do have the MK7 ST and also have this issue...(I guess like all Fiestas) 😅
It’s the sunroof causing it in the MK8. My MK8.5 has no issues up to 230km/h+
Did you have it in TRACK MODE? I noticed traction control was on, so placing the car in Track Mode automatically takes off traction control and stiffens the suspension and improves throttle response which is exactly what you want, plus louder and more burbles!
The ST3 or Performance pack added the LSD as well which I'm told is a must but I have both the ST180 & MK8, neither with an LSD and still great to drive!

Sunroof impact on COG the issue?
I had the previous gen Fiesta ST and it’s still one of the most fun cars I’ve ever driven. I chose it over a Focus ST despite the price being almost the same (bigger discount on the Focus at the time). Shame that Ford killed the hatches in North America :/
The pedal setup was weird too for heel and toe but everyone who tracked their cars put spacers and it became so nice. I feel like the 1.6 4 cyl pushed more once modded than this modded 3 cyl.
Actually modified 1.6 mk7 with stock turbo gives the same performance as stock 1.5 mk8. Great thing about new model is that you don't have to change turbo to get about 260 hp, in the previous gen you'll have to go hybrid turbo for that power.
@@michaswat8884 the last gen Made about 250-255hp modded on the stock turbo this gen made about the same modded, stock Is about 210hp ...
@@allanalfaro1384 bro 255 hp 😂😂😂 you can write even 300 on paper if you want, but the truth is that on stock turbo you'll get 220-225 of real power, which gives the same performance as stock mk8.

@@mgcharoudin most seem to whistle above 220kph. Mine hasn't done so in ages since someone bumped the front. Never found out why it does that, I'd assume it's bad bumper design, seems to come from that area at higher speeds.

It’s the shift indicator light, part of the performance pack.
You cann use Flat Shift when ST blink

The problem with this Fiesta is that the brakes fade away quite fast
A simple pad change will fix most of that, and you can go from there (bigger brake kit, cooling, ..).

Not a 4 banger, it's actually a turbo 3 banger. 1.5L 3 cylinder

Yeah it's a strange aerodynamic noise the ST makes past a certain speed. I believe it's to do with the door seals but not too sure - I own a mk8 ST myself but never heard it as I've never been above 80mph 😂
oops i meant 210 to 220 aproximatelly.
Due too the sunroof. The wind is pushed between the seals. It comes around 200 km/u (125mph)
How much horsepower?
200hp an 290nm stock. with software ~230hp and 360-390nm. stage 1. Stage 2 with intake, intercooler, downpipe.. ~260hp and ~420NM

@@vollcare4076 Unfortunately I do not know it. Acceleration wise, I think it's stage 1. but it has an open air filter, because mine sounds the same. ppshhhiiiiuuuu 😂
