For those who want the full OST, I have NO CLUE >.> who uploaded it on Spotify but the entire two ost albums have been uploaded for Napple Tale for continuous audio play. It's both complete disk track rips from the dreamcast game from portal to pc with original titles and art covers. Cheers!
The RUclips Algorithm does work in mysterious ways. One minute I'm listening to the Ridge Racer Type-4 ost and now I'm here. Sounds nice though; has that old movie vibe.
Discovered this track a month ago and since then ive been going down the Napple Tales rabbit hole. It's a cute little game and the soundtracks insanely well crafted. Surprised i didn't know about it until recently.
I like to hope that only true Yoko Kanno fans will eventually find their way to this song (video), it’s the pot of gold at the end of her discography, her secret stash if you will.
@@chrisshep7564ll of of her discography feels like this, you are in for a treat if inclined. She doesn’t write bad songs and invents her own genres, because it’s a Tuesday and convention wasn’t sufficient.

Sorry bud, I’m a random : , ) If it makes you feel better, I’m probably here because I’ve been listening to and doing a lot of research on OSTs for my visual novel.
I have no idea what this game is about but this song was in a dreamcast playlist, and it totally slaps. So many dreamcast ost's were absolutely banging ngl (I've never had a dreamcast in my life but the music for these games really is fire)
You know, i had this song on my playlist. I lost it, then I found it again. If you're reading this after doing the same that's cool, if you're finding this for the first time that's also cool.
Recommended to me too. Clicked because I don't know too many OSTs from Dreamcast games, even though it was out when I was growing up. Sounds so good, but could someone tell me a bit more about the game this song is from? 🙂
Napple Tale (2000, Japan-Only), developed by Chime. Notable at the time for being made by an almost-entirely female development team. Music composed by Yoko Kanno, best known for her work on Cowboy Bebop, Ghost In The Shell: SAC, Nobunaga's Ambition, and plenty more. A colorful fantasy 2.5D platformer following a young girl who finds herself in a world of dreams, after her soul is mistakenly removed from her mortal body. Rough around the edges, but quite enjoyable. The music is a definite highlight. Recently (unofficially) translated into English.
@@ErroeSerenitySorry for being late, but thank you! I'll check it out. As a kid I always wanted to play the Dreamcast more, but back then it felt as if the system lasted only the blink of an eye. One day I was seeing a demo of Sonic Adventure 01 in a GameStop at the mall, then the next thing I knew I was reading in a Tips & Tricks magazine that SEGA would discontinue the system and would only make games. Oh well.
I hate how obscure this game is. It is very pretty and quite strange and loaded with talent. Interestingly, I believe the entire staff is female. Coders, designers, everybody.
Yoko Kanno genre. Seriously, she has her favorite styles and sounds and she will work them into almost every job she gets. The problem is that it is so uniquely her that not a lot of other artists sound like this. Where else would you go to hear soft jazz in a pop song format, performed by a classical orchestra? I have no idea. My best suggestion is to just dig through more anime and game soundtracks.
It's primarily a Jazz Waltz. In terms of similar style you can look up things like "All Blues" by Miles Davis, "Midnight Waltz" by Cedar Walton, "Sky Dive" Freddie Hubbard, "Bluesette" by Toots Theilemans, etc. Yoko's style is more unique in the sense that she mixes her jazz influence with a flavor of contemporary classical music as well so you'll mostly find that in a lot of other Japanese composers instead.

Did it get taken down? I can't find it
Thanks YT algorithm, I had never heard of this game before but the soundtrack is pure gold!
Same tho! I was listening to like No More Heroes music and the algorithm just said, "Fucking saxophone?"
Same
That's how I got here, no more heroes
Yoko Kanno can do NO wrong. Incredible!!!
This has such a whimsical beauty to it

This song is very apple-scented.

Someone finally uploaded this. I don’t know why this never made it onto the OST
The algorithm went wacky recommending this but I'm glad

It threw it in a mix playlist generated off of a song from Mario Artist: Paint Studio. I see RUclips is going wacky for other people too.

this music can somehow makes me feel warm & smile even for just a little bit when i'm currently heavily depressed with everyday's reality...
Don't know anything about this game yet RUclips decided to blessed me with this melody
Light and airy, like whipped cream, and i cant get enough of either
Back when even random games gave a crap about their music sounding fantastic
Can't get enough of this one. The chord changes are just too good
Dreamcast was a special thing
such a shame Sega spent the previous 5 years before the Dreamcast came out eating rocks.
I want to move and float in the air
unbelievably real

@cbtillery135 who cares bro they're finding good music
I thought based on the cover that it was going to be some j-pop but i think i could listen to this often, it sounds relaxing.

This is aggressively whimsical!
All I can think of is the Tim and Eric, "Napple"
try and thinka something else to eat - I'm outta here
This makes me happy
