Thank you so much for all of this. I'm starting playing guitar again after years of just taking out 1 hour per year to repeat the same 3,4 songs I've learned to play. And having done almost 10 years of music theory and 8 of piano younger has always make me feel like a fraud. Because I was. I was pretending playing the guitar (and the piano). All I was doing was mimics and repeating. Not a bad thing per se, but not what I really inteded to do. Last months I've been studying everything again, thanks to the amazing content here on RUclips. Besides the simple fact that I could listen to your smooth voice for hours :D, I'm starting to understand what the guitar neck, the piano and music has always been about. Thank you. A lot.
Knew this already but watched all the way through just because you explained it so well. And... a bit of revision is always a good thing. So many thanks. Just wish I'd had access to such a great explanation about 10 years ago when I was kicking my own ass for endless weeks trying to understand it. You're a very talented teacher. You skillfully managed to apply the 'dry' theory to the practical use on the instrument.
This is one of the easiest and most basic ways of teaching. With examples of all kinds of learning. Sight, sound and hands on. Thank you for making this video.
Thanks Paul, this is one of the best theory lessons I have has as a beginner. Using the key of C really highlighted why certain diatonic chords shift to minor and diminished, something I had heard but not seen so clearly. Now I’m going to have to write them all out!
Love your lessons. After 30+ years of music theory ignorance I basically gave up on guitar... that is... until I watched your 1st theory lesson. Great explanations , engaging and humorous. Sincere thanks for your efforts... i think i will eventually succeed because of your encouragement... definitely helps to visualize understanding the relationship between notes and chords and music. You're a great teacher.

Paul, this has been an EXCELLENT series! First four episodes were largely refreshers for me, the last three have given me more and more insights, thank you Fabulous
This is amazingly simplified and probably THE best explanation of basic chord structures I've seen. So well done, Paul! Seriously man. I've been playing for 20+years and, although I knew most of this, I even learned a couple things!
This is eleven minutes of musical super wisdom for those of us searching for such wisdom. Concise and information packed. I love it!
