- On Saturday, August 24, 2013 me and 3 of my good friends embarked on a fun adventure where we would summit 3 of the tallest peaks in Southern California in a 24-hour period: Mount San Jacinto (10,834'), Mount San Gorgonio (11,503') & Mount Baldy (10,064'). It is commonly referred to as "The So Cal Triple Crown" or "8000 Meter Challenge". The total distance of the adventure totaled nearly 40 miles, climbing over 14,500' in total and we finished in about 18.5 hours after we started. A great, fun day in the mountains for sure!

Billy Yang. You and your friends are ridiculously fit. And that is upsetting to me as I am not so much with the fitness as if late. Killer video none-the-less and super props on completing all three peaks in one day.
I've hiked all three of those recently as day hikes, but when I finish I go home and cry a bit and then go to bed. I can't imagine doing another one (let alone two) after the first. Plus you are running big sections to be able to fit them all in in 24 hours. That definitely qualifies as an ultra. Betting you guys run ultras anyway. I hope to run them some day myself. This is now officially on my bucket list!
YES - do it Sean!
Good luck. You can do it if you train for it. Ultra runners are able to climb up hills though some will hike at a fast pace. And jog down. Jog on flats. Maybe everyone should have a bucket list...
Try this one: California Triple Crown = San Diego 100, Santa Barbara 100, Angeles Crest 100.
So bad ass guys. I’ve hike all of those mountains, but not all at once. Wow!!!!
Damn! That was awesome!! Great Video Billy!!
Amazing! Good job guys! Love you films Billy!
you guys are simply AWESOME! 🏆👏
Wow you guys are fast ! Great video .... You guys are a beast ! 🙌🏾
Awesome, great video Billy!! Looks like such a blast, I hope to do this someday! :)
That's freakin nuts!! Nicely done!
Fyi, San Bernardino is taller than Baldy though, by about 500 ft. And several others that are hikeble. Still an awesome accomplishment though, won't ever see me doing that.
well summarized adventure! i live virtually in the shadow of mt san jacinto (you can run to it from my house!), and this video a good reminder for me to not take that for granted.
Dude your insane, just did Baldy today and that alone kicked my butt! Great job!
Awesome video!! Thanks for sharing it :-)
This was crazy.
Josh, you be kraaazy!!!
DAMN!!!!
oh so those trailheads are the starting point. I thought you had to start from way at the bottom of the mountains lol
rad video! looked like a fun adventure, I think I may try to get some people together to do this as well now.
Inspiring video. The 3 peaks are on my list in September (but not on the same day). What peak was the most difficult and had you hiked Baldy before attempting it at night?
Way extreme to tackle all 3 on the same day, wicked, ive done mt baldy and mt jacinto recently and my next one is mt san gorgonio very soon....
Excellent video. Nice quick summary of the adventure. Where's the music from? I couldn't get a hit with SoundHound.
Awsome.
Awesome video dude. Question? What pack are you personally running with?
Thanks! Music's just a generic track I downloaded from a film score site. Uncertain of the artist.
Great video. May I ask the age of the oldest in your group.
I dig it
Great video. Billy, any reason why Marion Mtn trail was picked over Devils Slide? Did your 18.5H include driving to the trailhead or did you start the clock on the climb up San Jacinto. I'm planning for an attempt next month and trying to figure out where I'm underestimating time - currently 20H - as a mid-packer
Duke Hong I believe it was closed due to fire if memory serves correct. Marion was still a very beautiful trail. And the 18.5 hours included drive time. We spent a considerable bit of time between SJ and Gorgonio messing around.
2019 after just watching the western times behind the scenes commentary video.
That's freakin nuts!! Nicely done!

I wonder why San Bernardino Peak if often disregarded. It should be the 4 saints. But i guess 3 saints does sound better lol
Great video Billy! The clips we collected while setting the FKT weren't nearly as epic haha
Nickademus Hollon but what you two did was pretty damn epic!
Great suffer-fest! Inspired more for our now!
