  • For making all kind of sauces we need base sauces, these base sauces are called Mother Sauces. Mother sauces are also known as Grand sauces (French: grandes sauces) or leading sauces. These sauces are used as a base to make all other sauces called daughter sauces or secondary sauces. So in this video we explain the 5 mother sauces also called french mother sauces: Bechamel, Veloute, Espagnole, tomato, and Hollandaise sauce.
    Some people also consider Mayonnaise as one of mother sauce which makes 6 mother sauces.
    This video also give quick formula or recipe of making mother sauces.
