You might be remembering the Acadia as smaller because it WAS smaller; it used to be on its own unique wheelbase that has since been implemented in the Chevy Blazer and the Cadillac XT6. Now, however, it shares a wheelbase with the Chevrolet Traverse and the Buick Enclave. So it's a "full three row" as opposed to a "2+1 row".
That 2.5L should be an optional upgrade engine on the Equinox and Terrain. Make the 1.5L standard and 2.5L optional. The 2.5L should have enough power for the Acadia across the board. Will miss the 3.6L though.
The Equinox and Terrain used to have a 2.0L Turbo option and a 1.6L Turbo Diesel. I don't think the Equinox/Terrain need 3 engine options but they should have a larger turbo or a more powerful hybrid. I'd rather have the GMC Terrain with a bigger engine than the Chevy Blazer.
@@Jonathan-bk3dq You didn't say GM should offer three engines. I agree with you that they should have two engine options. GM did three engines, which are too complex and have too many parts to carry, but one engine doesn't give buyers enough options. Two is the Goldilocks middle.
It kinda looks like the new GMC Terrain....sorry, the GMC Terrain now looks like the Acadia somewhat, as this came first. The resemblance is more in the side profile than in front, but it's there. BTW, the Traverse doesn't have a CVT, it has never used one. The 8 speed automatic transmission is standard regardless of drivetrain. You're probably thinking of the Equinox/Terrain that only offers the 8 speed with AWD.
I think many people that know anything about cars will skimp out on something like this, or even the traverse, and stick with their previous gen traverse or acadia with the V6, or step up and buy the yukon or tahoe because they simply just don’t want to have to deal with a 4 cylinder mid-size SUV. At least that’s the case for me and it’s what I’d do. Great review nevertheless as always Zach.
Looks like the infotainment screen is over a portion of the air vents. Between heat and ac, wouldn't be surprised if these screens start acting up in a few years.
We got a Honda touring instead. Naturally aspirated V6. Best vehicle we have ever owned. So functional. Highly recommend. AWD model and wife loves it. No way I take a turbo four in this class vehicle with six people on board.
All three trims are available in FWD or AWD. The 2.5T is a new engine. It's a modified 2.7T for transverse applications. This can tow btw. When properly equipped (trailer pkg/AT4) it has a 5000lb capacity.
Hopefully you mean a 2006 Yukon. A 2006 Acadia, as well as the following 10 years after, are hot garbage. Timing chains, piston rings, transmissions, etc. Nothing reliable on them besides the 30% buy here pay here loan that most owners are saddled with.
Yeah... I'll keep my 2000 Camry, 2003 Sequoia, and 2008 Highlander Hybrid. I don't just mean that against this car. I mean that about anything being sold new in the US market today, including new Toyotas.
Great Maine shoutout. Being from Maine I can definitely say that Acadia national park and bar harbor are way more interesting than this car but it would get you there in comfort.
Thank you for the video. The vehicle is impressive for the features and value. The styling looks fine too. There is the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave. Is Cadillac getting a version to replace XT6? I like the wheels. I like where it is positioned in the GM lineup too. It is in that Pontiac and Oldsmobile spot. I am glad it grew back up in size from the generation before this. That was also sold as A Holden Acadia. I do not know why GM put a cvt in the Traverse. Not a good move. I hope this vehicle does well in the market.
It looks decent and it looks like the interior is nicer but I question how well that powertrain will hold up. I'm surprised it's legal to put the headlight controls menus-deep on the touchscreen, regardless, it's stupid. It pleases and infuriates me to see that GM is still using that chalky plastic that they use in everything on buttons like the gauge dimmer.
GM should get rid of GMC and bring back Pontiac to compete with Dodge, now that the Camaro is gone. We don't need two separate truck lines from GM that compete with each other. Dig that purple paint color, though!
Nope. Stellantis (Dodge’s parent company) pretty much just killed Dodge by making them get rid of their V8 and V6 muscle cars and replacing them with a severely unreliable hybrid 4 cylinder blob car (crossover) and everything else now has to be electrified, which literally no one from their target audience wants.
Just get a highlander or passport. Better longevity and resale. Gm will try to rope you in with more features for the price but the underlying product is still trash. Also all these mid sized fwd based crossovers are just mini vans with no sliding doors.

Yup, the Acadia went from Larger Gen 1 7/8 seats to Meidum Gen 2 6/7 seats back to Large Gen 3 7/8 seats.
Im not usually a fan of purple but i really dig this color.
yeah this color is really cool and it’s for sure what i’d get on it.
Eggplant is a nice color. I'd love for 90s colors to come back.
GM calls it Crystal Metallic, on a Buick it's Smoky Amethyst Metallic. I really like it as well.

Didn’t the GM 3.6 V6 have timing chain & guide issues?

Why does every engine have to be turbo charged?
Blame the EPA and their strict CAFE regulations. If not for those, they would have kept their 3.6 V6.
@@damilolaakanni More exactly, blame how cars are tested re: MPG, and how manufacturers "game" the system with turbo 4's.

How GM is in business still baffles me
The same reason the US votes one way or the other.

Chevy and GMC don't completely compete with each other. GMC is a little more premium, moreso competitive with Ford Ranch King for example.

There’s no way people are cross shopping an Acadia with a Yukon. They’re 2 different vehicles with different intended purposes
