You are the only person I have found that gives complete information about this tool. Sizes, how to change the heads, etc. Thank you. As a long time craft instructor I appreciate full information in a video. :)
Thank you for this tutorial. This is my first time using the snaps and I practiced on scrap fabric. The first one was assembled properly but would not snap. The second one snapped but no "click" and was very hard to snap. I followed your suggestion to remove the rubber piece and squeeze the snap again. Both of them work perfectly! Thank you again!!
A couple weeks ago my sister gave me her plyers and all her Kamsnaps to save me from ordering a set of my own because she couldn't really get into using them but, I had been wanting to make a craft for awhile using them. The instructions that came with them I have had a very hard time trying to figure it out and finally this afternoon I told myself, "you have a computer now and you love RUclips videos dummy, go to RUclips and type in Kamsnaps. Your video is the first one I picked and wow - your voice is great and all your tools and supplies are exactly what I have. I am so excited now to start on my project after work tomorrow night. If my eyes were better at night and it was not so late now at night I would work on my project tonight. Thank you for such an awesome instructional video. Sincerely, Rebekah in Alexandria, VA
great tutorial!!! Like others, I also didn't know we could smush the prong more by taking off the rubber piece! I love my pliers and snaps, they look and work perfectly!
Brilliant clear instructions. Have purchased a set of Kam snaps and with the help of this great video I've just fitted my first Kam snap on a baby's bib. Well chuffed...!! Thanks for your video.
I have the pliers, I can't wait to get a press eventually! I make cloth diapers and tons of other things and use KAMsnaps all the time! Love them!! thank you!!
Very useful information to know! I've purchased a few things made with snaps & didn't think the snaps were pressed enough.. now I see I was right! Thank you for the quick lesson!
I have thrown away so many snaps because they would not "smush" properly! Then I watched this video and it was awesome. Thank you SO much! Best video out here on how to use these snaps!! :-)
I was using the wrong size of rubber top with my size 20 bottom at first! HAHA! No wonder it was so funky trying to get them to look right. I love KAM snaps. I should have watched this in the beginning instead of having to learn it the hard way on my own.
Thank you for the detailed walk through and the troubleshooting at the end! When mine wouldn't snap, I thought the snaps were defective - your trick solved my issue.
Thank you for your informative video. I needed it and it helped!! You explained it so well and made it easy for my first time using this type of snaps. I am putting them on my mama pads. Would be great for so many applications; baby diapers, baby bibs, aprons, toddler paint cover-ups, etc............
Thanx for sharing this tutorial. I have one of these snap tools but wasn’t sure how to use it as I have never used one before but now I know how to properly use the tool I can replace some broken old sew on press studs on a duvet cover I didn’t want to part with lol your a life saver so thank you very much! 🤗
Our whole family is "Snap Happy" - We love our "HG" pliers from KAMsnaps. They are super easy to use (even my 11yr old can do this) and VERY addicting...bet you can't snap just one!
Finally pliers that work, I got them today , I am so happy I bought them! I will toss the piece of junk pliers that I have in the garbage, Thanks for the tutorial!
I messed up a couple of snaps at first until I really got the hang of it. I simply wasn't crushing the pin down hard enough. It really does take a strong hand if you are going through a couple of layers of felt and stabilizer or a similar number of layers. However, after making sure that the hole I punched was free of excess fabric, I was able to make them work every time.
Thanks very much for taking the time to create and upload this great instructional. I cant imagine what those thumbs-down fools had on their minds, ignore them :)
@@sammiesue3556 This is the detailed version. If you'd like the quick start version, the link is provided in the video details. That version is only 2 minutes long in total :) bit.ly/2oyTPbi
Thank you for the tip on how to fix a snap when it doesn't click! I was worried I would have to remove and start over -- it was keeping me from starting my next project. :)
Thank you so much for this!! Mine came with no instructions and I couldn't work out how to work these and I thought they were just crappy pliers as the seller I got them from told me that they are a terrible terrible product. Thanks to your video, I realised I was using the wrong rod!
I don't own the pliers, but I own the press. Maybe someday I would purchase the pliers as a mobile project for a girls' weekend or something. Thanks for the instructions.
This looks easier than the el cheapo pair I bought at a local craft store....I have a tabletop press, but I can see how these would be useful for smaller projects.
This is best tutorial I have watched. I had to figure out on my own that die that was already attached was not correct one. Also I did not know what extra rod was for. You make this look so effortless. The problem I am having is when I poke first part of snap through and position second part over the prong, in process of placing the pliers to press them together, the top part slips out of position and therefore out of alignment. Any suggestions?
If I buy Kam Snap plier ,can I use any brand plastic snap buttons available in future or I have to buy snaps made by Kam Snap brand only. Please answer. thanks,
Yes, they can but it really depends on where you place the snaps and how much space is between the knitting. If there's too much space, the snaps will just fall through. There is a link on the right column of KAMsnaps.com called "101 Uses for KAM Snaps" and somewhere down the page you will find a picture showing snaps on knitted items.
These will ONLY install plastic snaps. For other fasteners, you can get our KX8J professional handheld press with the corresponding dies for each type of fastener: bit.ly/2X6Azz3. You can watch another video comparing the tools here: ruclips.net/video/YpNj0NeIcCg/видео.html
I always wondered what the bigger rod was for. I tried using it once and demolished a stud with my pliers, so it's good to know what that's for now lol

Hello
PERFECT tutorial! Thank you! I had no idea what the larger one was for! Thank you!
Great info! I did not know that you could smush the prong a little tighter by removing that plastic piece! Awesome :)

I cant imagine what those thumbs-down fools had on their minds, ignore them :)
If you had half a brain you'd realize it takes almost 3 minutes before she gets to showing how the snaps are done doofus.
