This current lineup of Atlanta Rhythm Section is fronted by original lead vocalist Rodney Justo who joined the band in 1970 when they first formed up. Justo departed after ARS unleashed their debut album in 1972. He was replaced by Ronnie Hammond who sang with the band from the 1970s to the 1990s. The classic lineup was made up of guitarists Barry Bailey and J.R.Cobb, keyboardist Dean Daughtry, bass player Paul Goddard, and drummer Robert Nix. All six of them have passed away. Hats off to this current lineup for keeping the music going.

Every time here this was class of 1980 my grilfriend was class of 1977 she had 1977 motel Carlo we whet to that concert. After concert concert she took me home we kiss on the lips. We still freinds.

In case you haven't listened to the lyrics, this tune is about sex with yourself and how in some ways, its better than the real thing.....less hassle, fewer complications etc. Its a classic tune, but most people don't really pay attention to the lyrics because the music is so good, not even when they're singing them. LOL! Cheers!
Great tribute band ! But bands without any classic members is like fake advertising , I know the singer was in the band a little while in the beginning.
What do you call a band with no original members, other than a singer who left before any of their success? A tribute band. They really should change their name since not a single person who wrote, recorded, performed any ARS song with Ronnie Hammond is even alive. Sure the band is good, but hearing Rodney try to sing like Ronnie is cringe inducing. I saw the real ARS several times in their heyday. This is not ARS.
